"stupid people in Sweden have the right to say...." you Swedes can say stupid things about yourselves, your government, politicians, each other- fine- stupid is as stupid does.... what you say about other countries is a different kettle of fish- one would think after Mohammed's cartoons you guys would have learned something- I guess not- bottomline: STUPID!

the government of Sweden illegally shut down at least one web site. This action by them is thus calculated; they know they are fomenting Jew-hatred.
33. What a change for Sweden's government
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.20.09)
'STOCKHOLM, February 10, 2006 (IslamOnline.net & News Agencies) – The Swedish government has acted swiftly to prevent what could have been another "cartoon war" when it canceled a contest planned by a Swedish right-wing party on cartoons of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). "Swedish Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds decided to halt the Web site of the small nationalist party Sweden Democrats, which planned the Prophet cartoons contest," Abdul Razik Wabri, official of the Islamic League of Sweden, told IOL Friday, February 10.' They sure react when there is something that Muslims don't like but when we protest it is dismissed. Can be one of two reasons, Muslim violence or anti-semitism.

Lisa, We can say stupid things about whatever we want, your countrys laws do not apply here(thankfully). Brad & Gee, yes it's true the foreign minister did shut down two websites due to complaints by muslims. What you seem to have missed though is that she was forced to resign because of it.

any newspaper, no matter communist, socialist, democratic or otherwise is entitled by law to do a smear campaign on any individual or country based on heresay, no facts, no witnesses, etc.. this is legally called libel, not to mention intentional infliction of hate and divisiveness which sweden has enough of already. i suggest that this newspaper carry the atrocious rapes of white sedish women conducted by the multitudes of muslim immigrants to your country that goes under reported in this paper or any other swedish paper for fear of muslim retribution or loosing the muslim vote. it seems to me if i recall at all, that all your papers REFUSED TO DISPLAY THE MUSLIM CARTOONS FEATURING MUHAMMAD and that your government decided against such display for fear of offending muslims. i would say if sweden is democratic and allows for freedom of speech and press, why deny the cartoonist the right to put these cartoons in the papers? yet, when israel complains to your foreign office that this trash piece is libelous and a full scale lie, your government brings up the card of freedom of speech. isn't that interesting that freedom of speech is very selective with your foreign office? hating israel doeswn't permit any newspaper or government to slander a country's army based on lies and untruths. this is not freedom of speech. it is commensurate with many european blood libels against jews and judaism in general. you know it and i know it. so, please no semantic playing here. we are aware of this article intentions and i believe that in all honesty, sometimes a government should step in and remind your democratic paper that this kind of freedom of speech comes with a responsibility. it's called proof! hameed aboughaze, iranian

if she was forced to resign, then make sure you force this journalist to resign as well
37. #34 There's a difference between stupid and libel.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (08.21.09)
The former is protected by freedom of speech, the latter opens the door wide open for the newspaper to be sued, and for Sweden to look stupid for protecting freedom of speech when the country also has laws about criminal defamation. And when one publishes an article that purports to be true, but which contains no factual information whatsoever about its main topic, instead relying on conspiracy theories and references to third parties (said third party is a Jew arrested in the US for organ trading) and dubious statistics, all of this in relation to a specific group and nation. Note the difference, please. If the paper knowingly published information that it knew was untrue or without factual backing, then it will lose a criminal defamation lawsuit under Sweden's own laws.

'your stupid....". actually in my homecountry this kind of hate mongering IS prohibited- you better come up with HARD and ROCK SOLID proof for a serious accusation like this.- No paper would stoop to publish this kind of garbage and libelous trash . This article is giving journalism a bad name-. The author has taken hearsay, unrelated news and mixed them into a story that is supposed to have current relevance- . I hope not all Swedes believe this kind of unsavory reporting.

Then you recall wrong, since there were swedish papers that printed the cartoons, and also a smaller paper that had a mohammed cartoon competition of their own. The foreign minister did shut down the website with the mohammed cartoon competition. She was forced to resign for that stupid move - government ministers are not allowed to interfere with the media like that here. Complaining to the government is useless, they can't do anything about it, they're simply not allowed to according to Swedish law! So all the talk about antisemitism and so on is pointless and pathetic. Newspapers print lies all the time, they make up the most insane stories to try and sell more papers. As far as i know, lying is not illegal in Sweden, libel is a different thing, but i don't think it appplies to whole nations, only persons. In any case if you want that tested it's to the courts you have to direct your complaints, and not to the government of Sweden. Lisa, i wouldn't worry about many swedes actually believing this crazy article, Aftonbladet doesn't exactly have the best reputation when it comes to reporting the truth.
40. Swedish government!
corruptio ,   Stockholm Sweden   (08.22.09)
The Swedish government is the worlds biggest fraud!
41. Criticize Israel and become an anti-Semite
Kiarash ,   Stockholm, Sweden   (08.22.09)
Well, there is an equation becoming more obvious and famous than E=mc2 and that is: Criticizing Israel = Accused being anti-Semite
42. Typical Eurotrash Foreign Ministry Response
Claudia ,   Tampa FL, USA   (08.23.09)
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Spoken by an Englishman Edmund Burke. No such sentiments would be echoed today anywhere in Europe. Except one courageous Swedish lady ambassador in Israel. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior, the rest of the Swedes are simply ill informed cowards. In the words of Monty Python, "I spit on you Swedish dogs!". Or was that French poodles? Whatever.
