Look, the victors write the history books. Lets be honest, most countries claim to have helped the Jews during WW2 - sounds good and helps people sleep at night when they do not have to think about what grandad got up to between 1939 and 1945. But lets be honest, Germany needed Sweden, without the iron ore from good old neutral Sweden, there would have been no Wehrmacht - the planes, tanks and guns may have had "Made in Germany" stamped on them, but, it also could have read "Produce of Sweden". i read all these "this has nothing to do with what sweden did today" comments and that is not up for dispute. all of you should be saying this to lieberman who is desperately trying to make himself seem important using any means possible. he is the one who made the reference to WW2, not this woman. She is refuting what he was spouting in the media at the first chance he got. as to why yad vashem's historian got involved, it was to corroborate what golda said and show definitively that lieberman did not have his facts straight before opening his mouth.

Jasmin, while you are critizising... Mrs. Zandman was in the camps, this is where she got the number- she was in Sweden AFTERWARDS... anything wrong with that? Does this make her less than a survivor? There were profiteers in every country in Europe and Amerrica- nobody every denied this. No German troops were staged from Sweden during the invasion of Norway. What did happen was that troops were allowed to transit from Norwegian and Finnish garrisons without weapons in the early stages of the war. The justification for this can be argued unto absurdity, but lies and ignorance should be avoided at all cost unless you're actively running the purpose of slander and deception.
