Lieberman only showed ignorance by comparing this article to what happened during WWII . He also ridiculised himself by asking apologies from the Swedish governement . Your Ambassador here showed more sensivity to our feelings than your governement , he certainly knows us better as those in Sweden . By attacking the IDF , we all feeled attacked . You have to know that our army is not made up by proffessionals , but by a great part of the population . There are'nt much families who had'nt , have or will have soldiers in their midst . There are'nt much people who have'nt lost a family member , a friend or a neigboor in Israel's defensive wars . That why we all feel attacked by this article and the non condemnation of it by Swedish Authorities .

Lieberman thought it was relevant and brought it into the public debate as an official spokesperson for Israel. How is a woman speaking of her life and how she escaped the concentration camp irrellevant ? Noone forced Liebermann to say what he had to say and he is responsable for his own words. The difference about Sweden was that just before the end of the war while they still used the concentration camps Sweden was able to use their neutrality to take busses down through nazi germany to the concentration camp and save people from a certain death. No other country could do that at that time. Its not a failure to save people from a certain death. Goldas story bear witness to what Sweden did during that time.
