I understand the FM's idea. Whether or not I agree with it is not important here. However, according to what he said, this also disqualifies olim who come after their mid-20s. I came at the age of 28, would have done miluim if they had asked, but I was told by the IDF that I would not be needed. Therefore, according to what the FM says, I cannot be in the Foreign Ministry. However, I will have a PhD in ME Politics and a MA in ME History, and I would think that would qualify me as a good candidate to serve Israel in the Foreign Ministry. However, according to the FM, I can't. The question is, are you going to disqualify the many qualified olim (who can and do learn Hebrew) because they simply made aliyah later and the IDF does not want/need them?
