1. May the "artists" go blind and their
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.03.09)
hands wither. We have some sick puppies in this country. It is a Jewish country so why would we be interested in christian symbols? Was the madonna a yiddishe momma?
2. israeli artwork
real observer ,   asia   (09.03.09)
is this what modern israeli art is about, poking fun at dead palestinian women? whats wrong with you israeli jews?
3. the real intent of such artwork
real observer ,   asia   (09.03.09)
the women holding the baby jesus, its suppose to represent the so called danger of muslims towards the west hey israelis, did you ever think that it might backfire on both fronts? this art is a good thing, you israelis can no longer complain about anti jewish artwork by arabs
4. After hearing the artist's comments.I agree with the exhibit
Scott ,   Australia   (09.03.09)
At first I thought it was sick. In fact I still do. But looking further I felt this was no "Pro Palestinian" flog by yet another delusional. And when I read the artist's intent - I agree completely with the questions she asks. These "women" are monsters. There is nothing maternal or godly about them. The kind of religious fanaticism that compels mothers to send their own children and themselves to murder and maim other innocent civilians is sick, sick, sick. There is zero justification under any circumstances for such low, barbarous behavior. These images challenge those who would apologize or defend the twisted actions of these devils and their supporters.
5. Israelis (secular) have lost it, morals gone
m   (09.03.09)
I hope Galina Bleich would not have to collect remains of her children from a one of her madonas. You think it can't happen to you? Blind, and stupid, the lowest of the low. I don't know if you can call yourselves people, just erev rav.
6. ART?
Ellen ,   USA/Israel   (09.03.09)
When I read the title I assumed it was more Arab work glorifying their terrorists. I figured they were equating these sick women with the Madona. Now I see it is the work of a Jewish artist being displayed in a exhibit in a Journalist association. Well, considering the attitude of Israeli Journalists I shouldn't be surprised. Consider what the left thinks (and I assume the artist is left) nothing should shock. To talkbacker #3--no way is this negative. The artist is backpedaling as fast as she can in the hopes to ram some BS explanation down everyone's throats. It is pure glorification of terrorism. You, should be proud ( and laughing that Israelis have finally bought your program) As # 1 said, Israel has some sick puppies living in it.
7. freedom oef expression
alexander ,   tel-aviv   (09.03.09)
I'm afraid we may come to a point when a madman will shit on our heads under a guise of freedom of speech and expression. What does it have to do with art? I bet two putzes with minimal talents want to make a big fart, and they've succeeded - the stink is deadly. Do people nowadyas have a notion of taste? Tact? Reason? Crying shame.
8. to #2 - Think before posting!
Michael ,   europe   (09.03.09)
Nothing is wrong israeli jews, but with a "real observers" perhaps? What dead palestinian women? Are you talking about female suicide bomber? And this art is no fun, read an article again!
9. These Works Are Obscene
emanon ,   USA   (09.03.09)
I can clearly see her hair and her face. Has she no modesty?
10. No. 2
NYC Girl   (09.03.09)
You're overlooking the fact that along with Jews, there have also been Muslim and Christian victims of suicide bombings In fact, the young daughter of an American Protestant minister living in Israel was killed in such an attack. I just wonder how her parents, who are obviously very proud of their Christian faith, would feel seeing these mothers (who many times are complicit in their children's decisions to become suicide bombers) being portrayed as the Virgin Mary?
11. The "artists" are very sick people.
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (09.03.09)
12. Can anything GOOD ever come out of Tel Aviv?It is the sin
cap.of all Israel ,   Maurie, Israel   (09.03.09)
13. Hey, "real observer"....
JewishDragonfly ,   Torrance, CA, USA   (09.03.09)
First of all, learn how to punctuate and capitalize. Second of all, I'm not concerned about the feelings of dead people who killed themselves to kill others. They deserve our scorn. Third of all, the "so-called threat" is hardly a myth. Not all Muslims are terrorists, for sure; but there is terrorism, as them women against the west and against Jews, as the women in these pictures clearly point out. Forth: Why do you consider it a good and acceptable thing for Arabs to produce anti-Jewish artwork, while anti-murderer artwork is somehow beyond the pale?
14. Should be fangs dripping with blood on the Madonnas...
JPS ,   Efrat   (09.03.09)
...then I'd actually understand the connection. While Bleich describes her intentions in the article, that's certainly not the impression I get from looking at the paintings. The feeling I get is that the artist felt that the suicide bombers were godly or holy, and close to children. Hey Bleich.. why not just add the fangs dripping with blood before the exhibit opens - then nobody will miss the message.
15. RE#2 These "dead palestinian women" killed themselves and...
Rachel ,   USA   (09.03.09)
These women killed themselves and others. They're HARDLY the victims here! But, of course, your too blinded by your own hatred and prejudices to see that...
16. There are no "questions" about TERROR!
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.03.09)
I suppose that if ANY of these "artists" families would have been hurt or murdered by these terrorists, they would not have any questions to ask anymore. What a heap of suicidal crap!
17. Hey, I'd be offended if an artist depicted Charles Manson as
Offended ,   USA   (09.03.09)
Jesus, but I wouldn't censor it. I think it is morally reprehensible and damaging to society to glorify murderers, and that is what terrorists are, be they male OR FEMALE.
18. To #2: You need a lesson in irony
Look more carefully ,   asian "observer"   (09.03.09)
How do you sleep at night knowing the truth about these female murderers yet portraying them passively as mere "dead palestinian women," then claiming the traumatized Israeli victims as being the ones who are sick?
19. Pictures of holy terrorists
Nili ,   Jerusalem   (09.03.09)
Regardless of the artists intentions, these murderers are shown here with halos of light and painted in a "soft" way. I bet the PA are pissing in their pants with joy. Maybe if they would have put a set of horns and blood or something to actually indicate the evil of these women I might be able to believe the crap spouted by the so-called artist. This isn't art. It is sensationalism and should be thrown in the crapper where it belongs. Shame on TA for even thinking of showing it.
20. #4 Absolute nonsense
Jake   (09.03.09)
Get with the program. The artist's diplomatic comments are meant as a smokescreen to distract her critics. There is nothing cryptic about the art. The suicide bombers are depicted as icons, as saints, as the "Mother of God" herself. The brainchild behind this "art" can be found in old pro-Palestininians murals, showing Jesus wearing a Palestinian Keffiyeh being crucified on a Star of David.

23. I thought artists were supposed to be leading the way
observer   (09.03.09)
Well maybe these twisted minds are doing just that and Israeli society is following them. Don't worry artists, put your garbage away for a few years and they'll let you display it at an even better venue.
24. #2 Ahh but don't forget my friend. It was YOU palestinian
men who strapped the ,   bomb on your women.   (09.03.09)
25. Art?
Marilyn ,   USA   (09.03.09)
I really wish artists wouldn't keep doing this to our religion.
26. Artwork controversy...
Ron ,   L.A., USA   (09.03.09)
Everyone needs to take a step back. This is a political art piece. Before you allow your emotions and 'gut' reactions to get the better of you, realize that this art work is meant as a sarcastic slap in the face of islam. Islam claims to be a religion of peace. That's all we ever hear about it. Well, this art asks the question as to how can a religion claim to be about peace while systemactically raise people to commit such horrible acts of violence against fellow human beings? People need to stop and think before they react. Stop being such idiots!
27. Why not paint those bloodthirsty females
Raphael ,   Netanya   (09.03.09)

30. when an artist has no talent they always turn to controversy
paul ,   toronto   (09.03.09)
