1. Freedom of Movement
NYC Girl   (09.03.09)
Did these people ever stop their hand-wringing over the "poor Palestinians" long enough to consider the fact that the freedom of movement of millions of innocent Israelis was restricted for years because suicide bombers were detonating themselves all over the country? And did these Norwegians have any idea what it's like to attempt to live some semblance of a normal life when you don't know if the restaurant or bus or shopping mall you're about to walk into can blow you to kingdom come? Damned Euro-trash and their double standards.
2. Norway is showing its Quisling face again...
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.03.09)
Since the Defense Fence was not declared as "violations of international humanitarian law" by any internationally recognized body, by making these declarations, the Norwegian government yet again exposes its racist and libelous face in public. We should recall the ambassador from Norway and swiftly ick the Norwegians (ambassador and journalists) out of Israel just as we did with Austria when a Nazi was elected to the gov. And of course, $5.4M "investment" is as pathetic as the Norwegian Gov. This amount is just a tiny percentage of any deal Elbit closes and it makes no dent in Elbit's stock value. On the contrary, lacking any high-tech industry to speak of, the Norwegians are wasting yet another opportunity to make a nice profit and enjoy the superior Israeli technology. This is the nature of racism and hatred: it tends to pair itself with ugliness and stupidity! Long live "Progress Party" - the only hope Norway has to raise from the garbage and become a true democracy again! VOTE SIV JENSEN!
3. Their loss. Elbit is a profitable and growing company
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (09.03.09)
Heck, I wish I'd purchased Elbit stock years ago. That Norway focuses on surveillance equipment on the separation wall makes it clear they don't think Israel has a right even to defend themselves.
4. China & Tibet, Sudan & Darfur
Shmuel Michael ,   Carversville, USA   (09.03.09)
I guess they'll stop trading in Lenovo, because as a Chinese company its computers are no doubt used by persons who aid in the oppression of Tibetans. They'll also stop trading in any company that seals in Sudanese oil, because those monies fund the genocide in Darfur. Or maybe they will just be honest and admit that Western European sensibilities are offended when Jews do anything to stand their ground in their own country and defend themselves.
5. the wall
dan   (09.03.09)
has saved countless lives and prevented suicide bombing attacks. thank goodness for the wall, which has made life liveable in israel. is that what norway is against?
6. Norway and its even-handedness...
Marucho ,   Bs.Aires-Argentina   (09.03.09)
To show its even-handedness, Norway should also stop funding the palestinian public education apparatus, which is fundamentally oriented to children brain-washing against everything that smells israeli or jewish, preparing the future terrorists that will raze Israel and the West.
7. Norway produces heavy waters and massacres whales.
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (09.03.09)
The usual Scandinavian double standard showing its ugly face again: it is ok for Norway to produce heavy waters (used for cooling nuclear devices) and sell it to the entire world, it is ok for Norway to brutally massacre whales, and it is ok for Sweden to be one of the leading arms exporters of the world. But, it is NOT ok for Israel to build a fence to protect itself from terror. But honestly what did you expect. This is the ugly antisemitic face of Scandinavia today, what else is new?
8. More worrying than bigot oriented divestment
Raphael ,   Netanya   (09.03.09)
Is the investment coming from arab sovereign funds into key security activities or real estate in Israel.
9. Just another expanation
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (09.03.09)
B"H Just another explanation of what the Oslo process is all about: killing as many Israelis as possible.
10. Norway cuts ties to Elbit
Ger ,   Raanana, Israel`   (09.03.09)
Israeli supermarkets import thousands of tons of Norwegian salmon, which helps their economy. There are other countries which produce smoked salmon--why do we help our enemies?
11. Norway Is Inconsequential
Steve ,   Berkeley, CA, USA   (09.03.09)
It's a small country -- with a population under 5 million -- smaller than Israel -- it's a nothing country that Isreal can harm far greater than it can harm Israel. Acknowledge their hypocracy and then tell them to go screw themselves.
12. Norway must then quit NATO
Steve from Raleigh   (09.03.09)
It's the law of the NATO charter.
13. Time to buy Elbit stock
Sidney ,   USA   (09.03.09)
Why does Israel maintain diplomatic relations with these anti-Semites? Recsolar, a Norwegian company, was a final competitor in my search for a company to install solar panels on my house. I am now ruling them out. Boycotts work both ways.
14. Norway
Bielski, J. ,   North Woodmere   (09.03.09)
We, are spending millions to protect our Jewish population from phony 'freedom fighters' who could easily just make peace and the wall would be coming down. In the movie Defiance the wall was the forests otherwise the gentiles would have killed the Jews. We need to stop buying products from Norway, Norway-no way!
15. did you say Norway??
Zorro   (09.03.09)
Quisling, racism, libelous face, hatred, ugliness, stupidity........ all these adjectives for a tiny country. Not worth writing about it, a waste of paper, space, time. They are part of the new Europe ..............For now.
16. Norways leadership (not)
marvin ,   California   (09.03.09)
Golly..This confirms all the jokes I used to hear in Minnesota about how stupid the Norwegian leadership is...Heck, that's why Quisling is adored and celebrated as a war hero in most of Norway....
17. Pay Back Profit
JeanPoer ,   Paris, France   (09.03.09)
Why now? Why not B4? Is it because the financial crisis impeached them to exit at a loss? I guess they were waiting to book a Profit rather... I would propose to these smart fund managers to show their real support to PA by giving the profit to any "humanitarian" organization out there .... but I doubt they have even thought about it.
18. Hmm....
NYC Hindu ,   NYC USA   (09.04.09)
somebody needs to find out how much security related products Norway sells to China (Yughur / Tibet anyone?) or Iran (prison rape and murder).
19. Norway Singles Out Israel
raven ,   Hot Springs, Ark   (09.04.09)
The government of Norway fools no one with their singling out Israel to condemn, out of all the countries in the world who commit egregious crimes against humanity, tiny Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, is accused (falsely I may add) of human rights violations. Now I am boycotting all products from Norway, and I hope that other right-thinking people will do the same. BTW, I am not Jewish, just in favor of fairness and against anti-semitism---so often displayed in the EU.
20. Halvorsen is an a long-time anti-Semite
Zvi   (09.04.09)
hiding behind the language of human rights. And her government funds Palestinian organizations that sponsor terrorism. She's hardly one to talk. Israel had a choice between vigorously occupying PA neighborhoods and building a wall to separate them from Israeli neighborhoods. It did the latter. Halvorsen needs to get off her hypocritical high horse and go do something useful for her country instead of attacking Israel for DEFENDING ITS CITIZENS NON-VIOLENTLY.
21. Norway
Brod ,   USA   (09.04.09)
Israel can tell Norway goodbye.
22. Double standard at its finest...
Ginette Golden ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.04.09)
NYC Girl and The Doc in Haifa, I like your style.
23. QUO VADIS?
Ahava. ,   Norway.   (09.04.09)
The perpetual erosion is continuing. Partly from inside, but also from overseas network. Quo Vadis - israel ?
24. The salmon is your loss
Per ,   Oslo, Norway   (09.04.09)
Norway don't need you to buy our salmon, we are selling enough of it to other countries as it is the best in the world. I suggest you eat your own fish if it is so good.
25. Norwegian government
Chris ,   Norway   (09.04.09)
We will have an election on the 15th of september, and hopefully the socialists leftwing parties such as SV represented by Kristin Halvorsen (whitch also boikott Jaffa and other israeli products) are kicked out of the offices. They are a small party in Norway and does NOT represent the majority of the Norwegian population. I hope the israeli also can remeber that when thousands of Norwegian and Scandinavian people visit Israel in the coming years. Myself are a big fan af Israel, and love to travel around from Eilat in south to Goland in the north. Tel Aviv is the best city i've ever been to!! Keep on, this stupid desicion made by leftwingers in Norwway is our loss, and hopefully they will pay for it on september 15th.
26. norse ignorance
martin ,   england   (09.04.09)
the fascists leftwing scum in norway and sweden traditionally hated israel. i have boycotted since the oslo ""peace"" fiasco all norwegian goods - including fish. wild pacific salmon is the best. not farmed scottish and norwegiian varieties. to any fair minded norwegians, just look at the history of all those normenn involved in the oslo process. everyone is a well known hater of israeland in most cases the jews too. even called for israel to be replaced entirely by a secular "democratic" state of palestine. to israeli, think why did soclialist peres even discuss matters with these people. scandibaniva is ahead of the rest of eurabia. the muslim takeover is well ahead of the process. the only hope you have is to vote frp
27. Shocking ignorance
Kjetil Eriksen ,   Norway 4515   (09.04.09)
"Quisling is adored and celebrated as a war hero in most of Norway" I wont even try to explain how completely wrong these allegations are.. According to the latest numbers from the PST (Homeland security) there are less than 250 neo-nazis in Norway.. These idiots having some kind of a a Quisling-fest can hardly be called a nationwide celebration.. Please stop these "fun-facts" about Norway.
28. BUYcott Elbit
I. Barr ,   Detroit   (09.04.09)
I just ordered 1000 shares of this fine company. Fences are rising all over the world and Elbit is part of it. Oh, yes, I am looking for a Norwegian company to boycott but I cannot find a good purely Norwegian company.
29. #26 martin
Chris ,   Norway   (09.04.09)
Yes, when media in our countries are totaly ruled by persons on the leftwing (70-80% of them have their sympathy with left wing- socialist parties) we will never see any positive articles about Israel. There is only reports that can be twisted negative in one way or another. We who have visited and pay a fair amount of time to study the conflict, Israeli politics, and dailylife in Israel see things in totally different ways. The problem is that most ppl are busy with their lifes, and in the evening they watch TV- the news, and get feed by negative stuff about Israel. Or in the newspapers. How can we expect somthing else than the population got fooled by this propaganda? I blame the media for most of the anti-Israel feelings in Europe, specially Scandinavia. FRP are pro-Israel and are also the second most popular party in Norway. That should also be noticed by ppl around. Norway is not as anti Israel as the SV (socialistic leftwingparty) and this stupid sosialistic finance minister want to show you. There is a debate in Norway about this move she did also.
30. Fish ignorance
Per ,   Oslo, Norway   (09.04.09)
The Norwegian salmon is not farmed.
