31. List of Novegian companies
Neo ,   NY, USA   (09.04.09)
Norway's main source of income is surprise, surprise - oil. Here is a list of largest norwegian companies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_largest_companies_of_Norway I've never heard of any of them. So the best way to boycott it is to use less oil via alternative sources of energy. Lately, europeans have been irritating me with their self-righteousness and duplicity. EU=Evil Union. I hope EU collapses soon under its own weight.
32. The Norwegians are not stupid..........
I. Barr ,   Detroit   (09.04.09)
Elbit (ESLT) had a growth of 230% in 5 years. If the Norwegians had a lot of this stock for 5 years they made a super tone of money. The stock trades at $65 peaked at $70 a few weeks ago. The Finnish army placed an order of $24 million. I bought 1000 shares today. Buy Elbit.

I am glad to read a response like yours. However, I don't understand - if the second largest party in Norway is a friend of Israel, then I imagine its voters are too. In that case, how come you people never make your voice heard? How come it is always anti-Israel sentiments that are heard from Norway? And not only that, but in Norway, anti-Israeli sentiments are synonymous with antisemitsm. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a teacher in Norway, who was forced to remove his chain with a star-of-David, because some Arab student of his complained it "hurts his feelings"? And wasn't there a similar case several years ago, where a young (non-Jewish) Norwegian came to the parliament, also wearing a large star-of-David chain, and was kicked out of there, for "provocative behavior"? I really wish to hear positive things from your country, unfortunately all I keep hearing is hatred for Israel...
34. Norway
Heather ,   Manchester UK   (09.04.09)
I can't buy anything in Ikea, I can't buy Norwegian fish (not that I ever did anyway as they are long time anti-Semites and Israel bashers not to mention that they were Nazi sympathisers). Can I still eat Danish pastries but I suppose it is just a matter of time until the Danes folow their Scandinavian cousins and too bow to their growing Muslim population and single out Israel for approbrium. Who cares about Norway, all it has is fjords and fish and is of no consequence.

38. Ignorance on both sides of the wall and both in Norway and I
MJ ,   Trondheim, Norway   (09.04.09)
Reading the talkbacks here and reading the comments to this issue in Norwegian newspapers exposes a deep ignorance on both sides. Norwegians do not know enough about the situation in Israel and the hardships that normal Israeli citizens experience every single day. The wall and the military presence is not something normal Norwegians would want in their backyard, but given the same situation I am certain that Norway would react similarly to a terrorist threat. Israelis (I know not all comments are from Israelis) also seem to have a misconception of Norway and Norwegians. Quisling is NOT celebrated as anything except by the small neo-nazi groups that exist in Norway as well as in any country. Norway is NOT an anti-semetic country even if it disagrees with Israeli defence policy, that is a HUGE leap and an awfull generalization. Instead of boycotting, the Norwegian governement should stribe to help the real victims in this conflict, civilians on both sides. We do not always agree with the things our governments do, this applies both in Norway and Israel...;)
39. The Norwegian salmon is not farmed. BS! it's Factory Farmed
mic ,   God's Country   (09.04.09)
Yes it does and it does feed the fish chicken shit... -------------------------------------- Enormous amount of escaped Norwegian farmed salmon invade fjords and rivers! Farmed salmon have no place in rivers, says Johan Mjønes. Enormous amount of escapees, estimated 490.000 from Marine Harvest's farms in Tustna, invade fjords and rivers. Johan Mjønes in Snillfjord does everything he can to stop the run of escapees in river Åstelva. He's got permission from the County Environmental department to block the river-mouth with nets. At the same time in county Nord-Trøndelag, the county head-riverkeeper, Anton Rikstad, detects a great number of farmed smolt in the rivers there! --------------------------------------------- Salmon farming threatens the wild salmon of River Alta! The Fjord is dead - – The Fjord of Alta is nearly barren compared with the situation some years ago. No wild salmon on the run into the river for spawning and the few wild fish in the Fjord disappear. Commercial fisherman Arnt Ring observes that the Fjord earlier full of wild salmon, now looks dead. Slowly but surely, the wild salmon will be extinct. ---------------------------------------------- Growth hormone make fish grow, but also affects the brain and the behaviour of the fish. Growth hormone make fish grow, but also affects the brain and the behaviour of the fish. This has been shown in Victoria Johansson’s dissertation from the University of Gothenburg, where she has studied the effect of GH on the central nerve system in various salmonides: rainbow trout, salmon and trout. Fish that have been treated with GH are more physically active, eat more and respond to threats in a different way. ---------------------------------------------- Norway, the world's most dangerous place for Atlantic Salmon! Now Norway is the only nation continuing mixed stock netting for salmon! Scientific advice for years is neglected in Norway, while other nations showed their responsibility and stopped the netting. Continuous mixed stock netting and poor regulation of the expansive farmed salmon industry, which is on their way to extinct wild salmon not only in Norway, but in North America too, Norway is set in a damaging focus throughout the world. Help save the atlantic salmon. Signatures will be sent to the Norwegian government to help it decide immediate action to save the atlantic salmon: Save the wild salmon! ---------------------------------------------- Sea lice kills wild salmon To inform the public of the danger of exterminating wild salmon because of high concentrations of sea-lice from farmed salmon plants, an animated video has been made. The sea-lice are equally dangerous for Pacific as Atlantic salmon! YUCK!!!!

Wildmandxb ,   M.E.   (09.04.09)
I suggest you mind your own business and think about the issues of your original country, india, ok ghandu? i wonder why israelis don't get it, it was the swedish, now the norwegians, previously it was the danish, finnish, south americans, it looks like the whole world is against you people and still you don't understand! Open your eyes and you'll see the truth!
41. Don't generalize
#40 ,   Brazil   (09.04.09)
Please don't generalize. When you talk about "south americans", you are only speaking about personal opinion of Venezuelan president Hugo Chaves, ok?
42. Proud Of Norway
World Citizen ,   the world   (09.04.09)
And I will buy their products. More and more companies, pension funds, unions, universities, socially responsible individuals and civilized countries have begun to divest themselves of all things Israel. They are boycotting this apartheid state in the same way they boycotted South Africa. Your fruits and vegetables can't even be labeled in European stores because civilized people won't buy anything from a people that seem to hate the whole world. Justice for the Palestinian people is coming. It is just a matter of time.
43. Norway.
ronen ,   israel   (09.04.09)
Norway are a bunch of antisematic, so called do gooders, who do nothing, sept get on everybodys TITS.
44. # 33 Tahl
Chris ,   Norway   (09.04.09)
I guess many FRP voters (second biggest party) are Israel friends, som are not, and many don't have any opinion about it. There is many positvie things in Norway too when it comes to Israel related things. But the media is not into that, they don't care. It's better to cover negative things. With this extreme leftwingparty in our government im sure this "Elbit" move is not the last one. When it comes to this teacher with the david magen star it's tru, it hurt the feelings of the arab youth's. What can you expect from them anyway? Was never a problem before with only norwegian youth's. I dont know your second stor. It's wrong to call Norway a antisemetic country only because the government is. I hope they are kicked out on our election on the 15th september. Soon going back to Israel, during the winter! :))
45. this is only one side of the coin...

"The freedom of movement of the people living in the occupied territory has been unacceptably restricted," she said. the other side is... "The freedom of movement of terrorists living in the West Bank and Gaza hell bent on sucide murder of israelis have been acceptably restricted," I say.

49. We don't really help against the supposed anti-semitism
Yoav Hadari ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.28.09)
It is the common israelite's barbaric nature to be so aggressive when regarding every issue that contradicts their beliefs and/or interests. Many israelites (I won't venture to say 'most') are quite too hasty to jump to antisemitism whenever anyone "dares" show any sort of objections and repulsion of the israeli way (either political, cultural, or simply not having israel as a business partner in top priority). I think it's stupid and shameful to pull such a strong word that means so much true hatred for every slightest expression of a simple lack of will by other countries to associate with Israel in one way or another and for one reason or another. Norway does not adore Quisling. In fact, it is a lingo there to describe a traitor "quisling". As far as I know (and I have a good source), Quisling is known as the national traitor. We help spread the repulsion and dislike of israelites (no, not JEWS, but ISRAELITES) with such a behavior, launching such an aggressive attack at the most legitimate of things. I only use the term "we" because I am fully aware of the fact that I am one of the israelites. However, I do not behave the way I mentioned above, and I think my own repulsion and distaste of it is conveyed. Stop pulling the antisemitism card every time - it's disrespectful to the jewish and israeli history and to past generations (living and dead as one), and it certainly doesn't make us any more loved by other nations.
