1. Paradoxical argumentation
Alexandre Chinovich   (09.05.09)
The argument of softening the rightist camp before freezing - in order to save the current government - looks paradoxically for the Americans and their European satellites as their primary task is to get rid of Netanyahu, Likud and the camp.
2. nonsense
Michael ,   Haifa   (09.05.09)
Nothing will soften Israel's fanatical right-wingers. Netanyahu is on his usual "shtick", using the old worn-out excuses, playing for time, creating facts on the ground. The Americans should immediately bring their plan to the Security Council and the results may bring the rest of Israel's population to its senses.
3. Every hill in Samaria and every valley in Judea is part ...
Ron B. ,   Lod   (09.05.09)
Every hill in Samaria and every valley in Judea is part of our historic homeland! The Land of Israel is ours by Historical and Moral right and in 1920 the world recognized our undeniable national rights to this land. It is ours by the historic right of the people of Israel to the entire Land of Israel. The Jews have the right to build and live freely in their country. Every hill in Samaria and every valley in Judea is part of our historic homeland. We do not forget this, not even for one moment as explained at : http://xrl.us/bi9g8
4. building
colin   (09.05.09)
How easy is it for the leftest JPost and its writer to have the gaul to say that BIBI's desision to build was nessesary to soften the Israeli righist camp.Bibi was elected and the present government in power because the majority do not want the devision of Jerusalem and Israel. These same majority kicked out the weak broken leftests.Benhorin thinks he has the odasity to twist words and publish out right lies. The population knows better.
5. Building for Palestine
Shlomo Kamra   (09.05.09)
Every home built beyond the green line, will be a new home for Palestinians-like it or not!
6. This is a no-brainer
Dan ,   Titusville, FL   (09.05.09)
Obama has no call to criticize Israeli building new settlements just as Israel cannot comment on new construction in Washington DC. When one wages war they put at risk their resources, their treasury, their national treasure and their land. Five time the Palestinians attacked Israel and have lost and just as the United States took possession of CA, AZ, NM, and Texas after the war with Mexico, Israel has clear title and ownership of the West Bank and our undivided Capitol of Jerusalem. The Palestinians have a lovely seaside resort of Gaza. They may live in freedom in Israel (but not as citizens) or enjoy the Islamic enlightenment of the regime in Gaza but the West Bank and Jerusalem are no longer theirs or part of any discussions.
7. The territories in question are in dispute of course. It is
Eitan ,   Golan, Israel   (09.05.09)
only fair that neither Arabs nor Jews would build there, therefore. But demanding only of Jews to cease construction in villages, towns and neighborhoods while Arabs are permitted to do whatever they wish is a manifestion of racism, anti-Jewish racism. Does the Obama administration wish to be perceived by its voter in America as a racist one...??
8. Why should Jews, only because they are Jewish, be denied the
Gil   (09.05.09)
right to live in their historic homeland? I agree with those who refer to this policy a racist policy, and I hope the Obama administration, which came into power based on its liberal ideas and ideals will cease demanding of Jews to restrict their living space simply because they are Jewish.
9.  Talks
For the world ,   Ben   (09.05.09)
Allowing OK for new developments allows their being planned. A 'temporary' freeze in Judea & Samaria will take place for a few months for the talks to go. What the other Arab states do to 'normalize' remains to be seen. Hopefully construction will continue in Jerusalem and after few months of no progress talks Bibi & government end freeze and build. Not one inch of Jerusalem relinquished, no ROR. Bibi and state under enormous world pressure. keep eye on Iran-let's see what , if anything, Obama does about that nuke threat. Hamas and Fatah continue their fight
10. "Not accept the legitimacy"
Daran ,   UK   (09.05.09)
This part quote from the article, a position shared by UNSC ICJ and the ICRC. As a supporter of Israel I beg right thinking Israeli's (in both senses) to consider and draw back from the sort of, shrill, daniela weiss and co., platitudes and nulfications posted here. I fear that those Israeli not driven by a foaming at the mouth, rabid, defined by them, version of what is to be a "good" jew and zionist. Will be sorely affected by the unrealist and frankly fundamentalist worldview of some.
