Like clockwork, everytime a military edge is made by Israel or the West, Iran suddenly has the exact same thing, but a bit better, in just weeks. What takes the US or Israel to build and test and perfect in 10 years, takes Iran just a few months. So I ask....if Iranians are so intelligent to create advanced technology from their asses, how come they need nuclear technology to develop electricity and still have a 20%+ unemployment rate? You'd think such smart people would have fixed that, and other ills, in a scant few years.

MAD will not work in the Iran / Israel conflict the way it did the the US & USSR during the Cold War. During the Cold War it was politics plain and simple. Neither had a will to use their nukes it was more theoretical. With Iran v Israel its more than politics its religion as well. Yes, lets' do a test run of say, about 100 cruise missles and see how many get through, and each country could adjust accordingly. My guess is that Iran will wrap everything in persian rugs double thickness as protection.

They are specifically designed for shooting down low-flying missiles. They are launched en masse -- a thousand draftees are lined up at a time, and they let loose... With rocks.

Russia is supplying the technology for it... they do have defense treaties with Iran.... but I doubt even russia have the technology to defend against them.... other than using a electromagnetic pulse tru a high altitude nuc

These anti missles are better then most people think, they are Russia designed and using parts from China. Also the new radar system which is key to tracking, is made in China with Russia software. Cruise missile are slow and fly low so they can easily be shot down if you can track them, the radar/tracking system is the key but the improved anti-missiles are important to get high take down percentage. The US X-band radar system is very good at tracking at very long range but limited at short ranges.

Iran is a threat to the whole world, not only for USA or for Israel; it will turn even to Islamic nations and her best friend for long time India! A stealth jet to rival the F22 Their first homemade fighter jet which is a reverse engineered F5 a jet developed by the US in the late 50s. The Iranians claim that its superior to the F/A18 currently in US by the US navy & air force. They are planning to send men to the moon. Just like the rest of the things they claim to have developed this cruise missile defense system doesn't exist. If just a fraction of Irans boasts were true then they would be a global superpower.

It is hard to say more. The Iranian government is now able to castrate fleas, as long as they squat for a rest on some camels belly. The Iranian gov't is getting oil from Chavez. this would not be the first time that iran has bragged about developing a "high-tech" weapons system that matched the specs, detail fro detail, of a russian weapon. but the purpose of such bragging is either one of two things: either disinformation, to deter an enemy with a non-existent capability, or deliberate provocation, to precipitate a war, before such a system can be fully deployed. it's unlikely that the united states or israel will be deterred by an imaginary (and yet-to-be-deployed) system of unproven effectiveness. but by attacking sooner rather than later, they can reduce the risk from such a system. a sane leadership would not issue such statements, because they increase, rather than decrease, the likelihood of an attack. and air force generals do not make impromptu public statements. but a sane regime would also not produce enriched uranium in defiance of international treaties and security council sanctions. and would not make public announcements about their progress. so it would seem that the mullahcracy is continuing to pursue its policies of mahdaviat.
