1. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT ISRAEL MUST DO! BUILD BUILD BUILD!
stude ham   (09.07.09)
the goyim made one huge diplomatic blunder in demanding that israel accept ghetto status for itself while allowing the foreign invading arabs to rip out huge areas of its lands... like judea samaria jerusalem... the only obstruction to peace here is the rapacity of the goyim and arab invaders.

4. Pride
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (09.07.09)
I remember when Olmert was at the helm and then Livni while we were being bombarded (in the south) by shells from Hamas in Gaza and the (liberal) politicians refused to stand up for us and, finally, when they did, feeling pressured, they pulled back before the job was finished. I felt humiliated. I recall how the Palestinians in Gaza staged an "event" where 100,000 showed up as a Moslim actor, playing the part of Gilad Shalit, derided us with his pleas for his "mommy and daddy". These were the "common" people with whom we are expected to deal with. They are the same ones who danced on rooftops over 9/11. It appears now that we have a government with pride in Israel. We are nobody's lackies not even the American's. And, interestingly enough, this is one feat/event/direction in which the orthodox and the secular can be of one accord as noted by the luminaries who showed up at the ground-breaking ceremony.

From every jew in Australia, ITS ABOUT TIME.............
10. Israel is Israel, get used to it.
Mongo ,   Paris   (09.08.09)
Palistine was a Roman invention. No Moslems until the 7th century. Arabs squatters began occupying stolen lands ever since. Jews reclaiming what is rightfully theirs, inch by inch. Arabs can go back to Arabia or Europe. End of story
11. There is no "palestinian" land, there is the land G-d gave
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (09.08.09)
to the Jews, there were no "palestinian" terrorists in those days.
12. Totally predictable result of Obama's bumbling "diplomacy"
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (09.08.09)
Unlike the dictators and potentates Obama deals with in the Arab world, Israel is a robust democracy, and he is observing the will of the people, just as he will observe it right here in the USA, up close and personal, in 2012. Voters in a democracy don't much care for the transparent B.S. of this cheap Chicago political hack - not in the USA, and not in Israel. He picked the wrong folks to push around. This is what happens. We still remember here who cheered and threw candy when the Twin Towers fell - Obama's Cairo apology to the Arab World for defending ourselves might have scored points with them, but it didn't do him any good with US voters. The same voters who are fed up with his inept handling of the economy, who distrust his Eurosocialism and health care flimflammery, who don't like his addressing their kids on TV beamed to schools, and who will toss his arrogant butt out of office in 2012. Just as they did Jimmeh Cahtuh after he gave away the store to his grateful buddy (he thought), Ayatollah Khomeni. At least this time, Israel knows better than to do business with such a character. No "freeze" for B. Hussein Obama. No "risks for peace". He can't be trusted.
13. No apologies-no concessions
John ,   Boise, Idaho USA   (09.08.09)
Good for you Israel! Interesting is the international pressure against building, yet what sort of pressure (if any) is exerted against Admad and his nuclear city or Chavez's nuclear banana plantation? Do we hear any international protests against them?
14. Those trying to prevent jews from living in israel are .....
Bernard Ross ,   St anns bay, jamaica   (09.08.09)
....existential enemies of the jewish people. Some are misguided and have accepted the gentile lies that jews do not belong in Israel, that arabs are the indigenous people.. However, the road to hell is paved with good intentions and good intentions can kill as well as bad.
15. when will clashes between Jewish leftists & rightists occur
observer   (09.08.09)
till the voice of 1,500,000+ Arabs occupying the West Bank is heard louder than the voice of 300,000 occupied Jews, fake democracy is in action. to the religious ones; one cannot impose a halachic ruling that the Jewish population will not accept and generally abide by!
16. Morality and politics.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (09.08.09)
Even if the Arabs will get an additional state,a "Palestinian state", that part of the Land of Israel will still remain the Land of the Jews - robbed by the Arabs. The entirety of Jerusalem as the entirety of the Land of Israel belongs exclusively to the entirety of the Jewish people. It belongs to our generation as well as to the future generations to come, and no one has the right and/or the legitimacy to cede even one single square cm. of the city or the land. Agreements as a result of blackmail and pressure are not valid and will not change historical truth and International Legitimacy (The San Remo agreements). Mistakes done by Israeli government(s) in Anapolis or before should not be respected and should be put right immediately. Arabs have no case as to the Land of Israel, we should return to the original legitimity as described at : http://xrl.us/bjch4

Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (09.08.09)
is showing once again. What do you know about Jewish law and halachic rulings? If you're trying to impress, you've done the opposite. You keep turning up in the Talkback section of YNet only to spill your dribble onto the electronic pages. If you must publish, go to Haaretz where you and other morons congregate!
