There are two type of donors 1. Living Donors. This is when a kidney is donated from a living person. 2. Deceased donor: These are not actually deceiced but declared brin dead. Oncd the body is totally dead(Not just brain dead) organs are no longer usable. Additionally, donated organs must be removed properly and stored in mediacally safe environments. It is not possible to bury a body and then harvest its organs. Finally; In modern democracies the accuser must provide supporting facts and evidence and the accused have no responsibiity to defend itself if thereis no credible evidence. Mr. Barakeh's accusations are similar to me calling him a lier.

Before this idiot, Barakat, goes any further with these incendiary accusations, the Israeli medical establishment and the media have got to put a stop to this nonsense once and for all by pointing out the facts regarding organ donation. The government can't continue to allow blatant lies that damage the country to go unchallenged.

First of all, organs must be harvested while the donor is still alive or has been dead for a matter of seconds (organs) or minutes (corneas). Secondly, it would take a skilled surgeon to remove organs and corneas. Thirdly, organ/cornea removal must be done in a completely sterile setting. Fourthly, anyone killed in wartime has organs which are pretty much useless. Finally -- I believe the Knesset should give serious thought to censuring Barakeh (at a minimum) or, preferably, banning him and his party forever. This is nothing more than the old, old blood libel charges, with a Palestinian terrorist spin applied.

I see no reason to not return the bodies to their families. By holding the bodies it only invites more suspicion surrounding organ harvesting and trafficking at a time when Israel is already under the international spotlight regarding organ trafficking. I also find the part about marking the graves with numbers rather than names to be rather distasteful given our own history ans something that should be addressed.

This is probably the most vile statement that has ever come from this man. Does he serve his constitutents by making such ridiculous and hateful statements? Does he have any humanity? My mother always taught me that it is not enough to follow moral behavior, but also to AVOID THE APPEARANCE OF EVIL. Israel should never hold the bodies of Palestinians; kindness dictates that they be returned to their families. In most cases, there does not need to be an autopsy. As this issue has come up, the government should form an international committee to monitor this situation, and to verify that nothing terrible is happening. I believe that this is the old blood libel, surfacing again in the 21st century, and in the past, those who accused the Jews had no trouble murdering Jews and abusing them. After centuries of this, you would think that the government of Israel would make sure that all actions should be transparent without any doubt. I am Jewish, and I speak plainly that we must respect our enemies and work towards more cordial relationships with them by honest, careful and respectful behavior in all matters.

Come on, folks, get real. Hadash is an old-style communist party where the members have no qualms about spreading propaganda in support of the "revolution". As commies, they have no respect for the concept of universal human rights or international law - unless, of course, it suits their propaganda purposes. That's why Hadash doesn't call on Hamas to allow the International Red Crescent/Cross to visit Gilad Shalit as required by international law. Barakeh is a tool, and the media should do its job and ask probing questions at a press conference and challenge these people who claim they support human rights, but only for themselves.
