While bombing would destroy their reactor, I don't think it would destroy their centrafuges since they are deep underground but with the US bombs and a direct hit then maybe. I think Netanyahu is trying to stop Iran from building stronger defences before next spring when Israel may have to bomb. If Iran get the S-300 system up and running then Israel could lose 25-50% of it aircraft in a bombing raid. Dimona would most likely be one of Iran's main target for a counterattack.

We know from present and previous posts that you position yourselves as "military strategists" always threatening us (readers) of the dangers and risks to Israel. But have you considered the internal situation in Iran? The government is one thing but the majority of people are looking for a way to overthrow the government. An attack by Israel will open the floodgates. Iran will be severely damaged from within. In its weakened state, I think the current administration will be overthrown and the international risk which Iran currently exhibits will be significantly decreased. With that, Hizbollah and Hamas, both dependent on Iran for funding, will likewise be weakened. For mideast Arab and non-Arab states alike such as Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia as well as some of the Emirates, this denouement will come as a welcome turn of events. I don't say that Iran's demise will come without repercussions but I don't think they will be any where near as significant as you two seem to think (or want to believe). It's important to perceive this situation clearly and without prejudice and to separate your own desires of a damaged Israel with an objective look at the situation. In general, the Arab states have made war upon Israel because those in decision-making positions were unable to do that. When, on the other hand, to view one historic occurrence, the Egyptian officials realized Israel couldn't be beaten, a peace treaty with Israel was established, one that has served both countries well as compared to the militaristic situation before the war in 1972-73. Can you two not see how much better life would be for all parties concerned if Israel were to be recognized as a Jewish state in the midst of the other (Muslim) powers? The lack of recognition of the state of Israel is what keeps much of the misery and insecurity in that area of the world going. I realize that acceptance of Israel would result in an upheaval in the Arab world in terms of democratic expression and perhaps this is what the Arab and Muslim leaders fear as their own power might dwindle as a result. Nonetheless, can't you see that sooner or later it (democratic expression) will occur in Iran whether or not Israel attacks? The young people are insisting on it.

With Iran reportedly mere months away from producing functional nuclear bombs, why has Israel waited so long? Hopefully we will soon destroy Iran's nukes. When "Palestinian" terrorists rise up in defense of Iran, it will give Israel a golden opportunity to clear out the whole vipers' nest. My intuition tells me that the reason for this visit was to dissuade the Russians from supplying Syria with planes &/or similar matters having to do with our Arab neighbors. The 2006 war in Lebanon was fought with 5% of Israel's mobilizable forces. And it was fought with a delicacy towards collateral damage. Don't count on that happening with Iran. Why does everyone have to know everything that the PM does? I understand the press' desire to know, and their job is to try to pry it out.
