He acted as he should have. He didn't allow himself to be murdered, and did all that he needed to to prevent killing his assailants, but at the same time neutralizing them.

It is not that police "estimate the man felt threatened".
CCTV images clearly show a mob of Arabs, including the wounded, trying to lynch the "suspect" once they realized he was a Jew.
This is worse than the Shai Dromi case. With Shai Dromi the attempted murderers were thieves trying to make a living while here it was a case of pure racism seen in the white lynch mobs of the Deep South.
