1. And what's in it for Israel?
leo ,   usa   (09.18.09)
2. Another illegal resolution
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.18.09)
In direct violation of the UN Charter, no nation can be forced to sign any treaty that they don't want to. The UN needs to stop violating international law.
3. A Victory for the Civilized World!!!
Nour ,   Palestine   (09.18.09)
This is a welcome development. At long last Israel will cease to use its "nuclear deterrant" in blackmailing, threatening, and imposing its apartheid agenda! The next step is a full-fledged economic boycott and sanctions, until Israel complies with basic human rights vis a vis its oppressed Palestinian natives!
4. Oh, sure
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (09.18.09)
The United States does not allow inspection of its nuclear facilities. Neither do India, Pakistan, Russia, China or North Korea. When the foregoing countries allow it, then perhaps Israel may change its mind, too. But not unless and most certainly not until.
5. IDIOT !!!.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.18.09)
Iranian Ambassador Ali Asghar Soltanieh told reporters the passage of the resolution was "very good news and a triumph for the oppressed nation of Palestine" IN WHAT A WAY DO ISRAELI NUCLEAR PLANT, HAVE WITH SO CALLED OPPRESSING TO DO ???. "The delegation of Israel deplores this resolution," David Danieli, deputy director of Israel's atomic energy commission, told the chamber after the vote. "Israel will not cooperate in any matter with this resolution which is only aiming at reinforcing political hostilities and lines of division in the Middle East region." EXACTLY !!!. Arn.
6. Maybe we should share our nukes
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.18.09)
with our neighbors? Give them about ten each and show them that they are in working condition.
7. Hahaha Israel introuble now!!
Joe   (09.18.09)
8. THREAST THIS RESOLUTION LIKE ALL OTHER UN RESOLUTIONS...
stude ham   (09.18.09)
and use the paper on which it's printed for your toilet duties. oh look... israel won't cooperate with the UN... damn right! israel has to survive!
9. I agree, Israel should not have nuclear weapons
David G   (09.18.09)
Israel should not have nuclear weapons, unfortunately when you are a small state surrounded by potentially hostile nations you have few options. So let’s make a deal, the moment the Arab League recognizes Israel and sets up full economic and diplomatic relations Israel will declare its full nuclear stockpile and get rid of it, as a bonus they will scrap their long range rockets as well. Sound like a deal?
10. #3 - Yet you decry this "world" for making demands of Iran
William ,   Israel   (09.18.09)
Gee, wouldn't that mean you're treating one group differently than another? Isn't that....RACISM? APARTHEID? Now, even a highschool student can see the logic in Israel's military build up has been due to the continued Arab racist aggression on it and its people. But you're a Palestinian with Canadian citizenship - a double-whammy which means the bar for expectations is lowered significantly in regards to you.
11. "Gee, Iran's too hard. Let's attack Israel"
William ,   Israel   (09.18.09)
Another failure of the world governmental bodies to make inroads on real peace in the world. One would believe from the past precedents that if we all just behave like the Mullahs, the world would give up and go kick an easier target, but because Israel allows discourse and open press, it's the target du jour. So why DOES the IAEA want Israel to join the NPT? Hell - Iran is in the NPT and they continue to violate it. Israel has never threatened another party with nukes (if they have them), nor threatened to wipe out other nations, nor have an atrocious human rights record like Sudan, N. Korea, China, Iran, even Pakistan. Iran stated many times that if they get the bomb they would share it with every one of the anti-Western groups, just like A. Khan of Pakistan did. So again - why focus on Israel when the real threat is next door? Too hard for you flunkies??
12. Anti Semites
Linda ,   Ohio   (09.18.09)
Anti Semites....Damn I am so angry at the UN and IAEA, mohama baba.
13. I almost fell of my chair laughing at that one!!!
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (09.18.09)
Let's just walk back into the gas chambers while we're at it.
14. Everything old is Nour again
Sarah B ,   New York City, USA   (09.18.09)
Oh, yes, because Iran is such a civilized place ..... You must be on drugs. If not, you need to get some -- lithium comes to mind. Full-fledged economic boycott has been tried, and failed dismally. Keep whining, Nour. Alienate the two percent of the world that is not yet sick to death of the Palestinians. You need to learn to own the poor choices you made, irrespective of the consequences. That is how the rest of the world operates; why do Palestinians lag so far behind in terms of realitty? You people are destined for the dung heap of history. Hell, you're halfway there. Get used to the idea.
15. Hypocrites
USABorn   (09.18.09)
It was announced AGAIN just yesterday that Iran has nuclear bombs and is developing a missle to deliver it. Why should Irael show its hand while these so called inspections haven't stopped Iran's ambitions of wiping Israel off the map.
16. #3
USABorn   (09.18.09)
Do you think that if Iran fires a nuclear missle into Israel that the Palestinans would survive? Do you think Iran cares if it nukes kill Palestinans. It's all coming down to hit or be hit.
17. 3
funkyyaya ,   london   (09.18.09)
Civilized World!!! That counts you out then..economic boycott...you just dont give a shit abiut your own people...the arabs....why didnt you cry when the west bank was part of jordan...then after 67 ....ocupied palestine...palestinian...fairy tale...dream
18. There is nothing civilized, Noor,
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (09.18.09)
about the world of Palestinians with its terrorist infrastructures, suicidal bombings and the use of civilians to protect its socalled fighters. You just don't get it, Noor, and your responses almost always mirror one another. Too bad because, on occasion, you really do appear to possess intelligence and that's when I enjoy your responses even when I disagree. Can't you actually try hard to put aside the Palestinian cheering section of your mind and allow some objective and clear thought to permeate? By the way, I'll bet you don't even reside in the mideast. I'll bet you're safe and sound in the USA or Canada.
19. lol no 3
smith   (09.18.09)
That was very funny to read you. You should go at Comedy Central. Palestinian native, good one! and why not myth arab native...
20. What's in it for Israel?
BUNG ,   ca canada   (09.18.09)
No offence, but even this question leaves something to be desired. Any idiot that has a brain that can swell up to the size of an enormous grape, should know one doesn't even consider what is in it supposedly for Israel. Don't allow anyone into Israel period that represents anyone. Keep them out. Israel is not using nukes to offend, but rather to defend. It will keep the kooks out!
21. iaea and your arab sponsors.....
les ,   canada   (09.18.09)
please...shove your recomendation you know where! maybe you'll supply israel with swords and arrows to protect themselves against ahmadihitler and his "friends". i am not disappointed, this is all i would expect from you idiots!
22. #2 Ain't that the pot calling hte kettle black?
Base ,   USA   (09.18.09)
It is so ironic to read supporters of Israel complaining of the UN flouting international law, while Israel has been in violation of many resolutions, including Resolution 242, for nearly 42 years. Israel is, quite literally, a serial violator of international law. The only reason that there arent even more resolutions against Israel is that the US veto's them. I for one, am a American who hopes that the US stops this blind support for Israel and allows Israel to be judged before the international community. Israel joining the NNPT would be an opportunity for Israel to demonstrate that it wants to join the international community, not exist in opposition to it. It would also have a strong effect on the international communities response to any Iranian nuclear development. As usual, however, Israel lacks any strategic vision, opting for the continuation of the myopic tactical approaches that has led it to this miserable status quo.
23. Why allow? So that Mohammad and Iranian wife learn how to
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (09.19.09)
attack Israel?
24. Arbs and Muslims are in mortal and imminent nuclear danger
Genuine Toseftat ,   Tveria   (09.19.09)
For the Muslim world, the status quo is no longer sustainable and time is not on its side. The Salafi jihadists are gaining strength in F. Arbia, Egypt, Syria, Iran, Kuwait, Turkey, Malaysia, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, Afghanistan, Algeria, Pakistan, Indonesia, Morocco, Bangladesh, Somalia and among the Fakestinians, and warn that an apocalyptic Armageddon between the Muslim world and the West is approaching. Whether moderate Muslim intellectuals and Western-educated Muslim technocrats will be able to bring on an Islamic Renaissance before rising radical Islam draws them all into an unwinnable nuclear confrontation remains to be seen. Their success in doing so is by no means assured.
25. If Israel joins the NPT then it will have signed its death-
Rivkah   (09.19.09)
knell. America is fading into third world status like Britain and when enemies re-write to UN Charter to get America off the Security Council or dilute the power of one vote (America's) on the Security Council to protect Israel, then the Marxist/Islamic UN mandate of most of its members will destroy Israel. The ELS Torah Codes at www.arkcode.com by Barry Roffman are beginning to indicate it may be Obama and Rahm Emmanuel who defend Israel from Syria, Libya, Egypt and poison and an atomic holocaust. Even as it fades into Third World status, the US will still have nuclear weapons to protect Israel if Dimona is demolished and Israel cannot protect itself. Israel would do well to have nukes in submarines as other nuclear powers have, for retaliation. Blow every Muslim city off the face of the globe and fiddle a violin while the earth burns if Jerusalem and Tel Aviv are attacked by nukes.
26. Israel trying to get new reactor,Dimona tobe shutdown soon
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, USA   (09.18.09)
Israel has been trying to get a new reactor for the last few years, Dimona is over 50yrs old and becoming dangerous to operate. The US wants Israel to sign NPT inorder to get new reactor. Any country that has signed the NPT can only supply nuclear tech to countries they have sign NPT. India could help Israel but not likely since they have a large Muslim population, France and S. Africa have help Israel in the past but not likely now. Israel is in abit of a spot since its leaders have said for years that it would not be the first to introduce nukes into the ME and Iran is pushing for a nuclear free ME.
27. UN urges Israel....blah blah blah
Mark ,   USA   (09.19.09)
Tell the UN to take a hike!
28. BloodyThirsty "nuclear expert" #26, you don't know squat
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (09.19.09)
Israel already has several other reactors built in the last 25 years Israel is in very good shape because your intel knowledge is like Iran's well, well this emperor has no clothes
29. RE: Long overdue
Uncle Sam ,   USA   (09.19.09)
Open it up if you have nothing to hide, Israelites. You only want the rules to apply to everyone else and you have not been cooperative. The time to hide behind the USA is OVER.
30. Any state can leave the NNPT in 6 months
Aaron ,   NYC, USA   (09.19.09)
But everyone knows only Rogue states don't abide by this Treaty. Israel is in good company, with Pakistan and India, two other primitive, tribal countries that aren't ready for the 21st Century. Once the US loses power and China takes over, Israel will fade from the pages of History...
