1. Hezbollah Should this time Hit Netanyahu Office
Yudi ,   Moscow   (09.19.09)
As we see the Pretext for the Zionist-Warriors Speeches, it highlights that they are in danger and they are reasoning to do the same slaughter of GAZA
2. Where and when?
Spengler ,   USA   (09.19.09)
I would like to know where and when Isreal has made great efforts not harm or kill innocents? That is an Isreali hallmark, killing women and children the whole world is well aware of that fact.
3. Syrian rockets played the major role in Lebanon war
observer   (09.19.09)
Besides the standard 122 mm Grad rocket, familiar from all previous rocket attacks, the Hizbullah employed an improved version with a 50 km range, hitting Haifa from launch points near Tyre. Beyond this, the Hizbullah fired a number of 220 mm rockets with an estimated range of 70 km, and a number of 302 mm rockets with a range of 90–100 Km, both of Syrian origin and both previously unknown to be used by the Hizbullah. The closest approximation to the 302 mm rocket system used by the Hizbullah is the Chinese WS-1 MLRS, also of 302 mm caliber, the latest version of which has six square section launch tubes installed on a three axel vehicle. The resemblance between the two launchers suggests that this rocket is a Syrian copy – probably license produced – of the Chinese WS-1 system. Hevullah maintained its power to launch rockets at an undiminished rate until very end of the fighting. contrary to the prevailing belief in Israel that the IAF managed to eradicate the long-range rockets but was powerless to eradicate the short-range ones, the truth may have been exactly the opposite. Massive rocket fire was used against Israel’s homeland in order to provoke Israel into launching a ground offensive; Well entrenched defense in depth was employed in order to defeat the ground offensive. Hizbullah aimed to bait Israel into entering its carefully laid trap with rocket fire.
4. The strength of democracy.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (09.19.09)
If both political leaders and public opinion are convinced of the rightness and necessity of war, it is extremely difficult to withstand the wrath of a democratic country. The staying power of such countries does not depend on the damage they suffer in human lives and property. Their power lies in what defines their very existence–their belief in democratic values and their wish to protect them. If a democratic society believes in the rightness and necessity of its struggle, and if its leadership can provide a simple and clear answer to the question, “What are we fighting for?” the public will be willing to bear any burden required of them. At the most critical junctures of its history, the citizenry is not the weakest link in a democratic country, but its greatest resource. We will fight for our country because it is ours and we have no other as explained in 6 parts at : http://xrl.us/bi5c6
5. All wars that Israel has waged have been just, forced ...
Ron B. ,   Lod   (09.19.09)
All wars that Israel has waged have been just, forced upon it by the Arab leaders. War involves life-and-death situations; mistakes are made and innocents inevitably die. But in maintaining our moral standards, we are also obliged to ensure that we do not go to the other extreme and endanger the lives of our soldiers by preventing them from defending themselves. As to the blood libels against Israel and the IDF : http://xrl.us/be8dzf
6. Next war won't spare neither Damascus nor Teheran
Jihad ,   is Dead!   (09.19.09)
7. Binary Bombs! Here we come to eradicate the Hezbollah rats!
(09.19.09)
8. effect of Shalit's lengthy captivity on Lebanon war?
observer   (09.19.09)
is few days captivity before the war longer than 4+ year captivity?; that wasn't tested. Shelly!, the IDF elites concluded that Firing at the depth Israel was used as a bait to entice Israeli ground offense into the trap.
9. #8 Don't count on that weak hope "observer"
observing ,   the "observer"   (09.19.09)
Your "observations" have long been unmasked as pathetic attempts at demoralizing so don't bother - this is not the right place to play your tune. The cowards and tree-huggers lurk in the Haaretz forums. You may be more successful there. FYI, Shalit is not a barganing chip anymore, regardless of how much noise his whimpy family makes. For many of us, Shalit is as good as dead. You see, Ron Arad and Shalit has only shown us that we better fight than surrender and if surrounded, we take out as many terrorist scum as possible before being murdered. Hezbollah will be butchered into small pieces this time (smaller than last time I might say), and Damascus will also feel the wrath of a full scale war. But I guess that this is exactly what Hezbollah wants - to get as soon as possible to the Moon God Heaven. This time it will make it there faster and in many more pieces - count on THAT!
10. #2 "Schmengler", the answer is EVERYWHERE and ALWAYS!
Ramayana ,   ND, India   (09.19.09)
You are not the "whole world" and it is clear to everybody that Muslim cowards' hallmark is murdering civilians! No need for us to prove anything - they themselves brag about it and show it on countless videos on their barbaric websites and on youtube. Their illiterate and crazy priests preach about it in Mosques - it is all out in the open! Islam warrants the murder of innocents (even "brother" muslims) if it serves Islam. There are more muslims murdered by their own "brothers" than all the wars throught the entire mankind history combined. All the late 20th and 21st century conflicts have been perpetrated by Muslims! High-seas piracy is perpetrated by Muslims too! Again, no need for proof since the brag about it everywhere. "Schmengler" - I doubt that you really want to know where and when Israel has made great efforts not to harm civilians. Your only purpose is to throw your venom in our forums and as such, your posts are nothing more than yet another lame Islamist propaganda. Now that you got your answers, GET LOST!
11. #1 "Yudi": an impostor as racist & eloquent as ever - LOL!
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (09.19.09)
12. Why Muslims and Europeans hate us
Turkish Jew   (09.19.09)
Arabs hate us because, contrary to the European cowards, we fight, we don't surrender and we will NEVER convert to Islam. To paraphrase a saying from the 60s and 70s: "Better Dead than convert to Islam"! Europeans hate us exactly for the same reason: we are a mirror of what they SHOULD be and will NEVER be. They give up their heritage, civilization and history for a worthless and temporary "cease fire", hoping to postpone for as long as possible the new Islamic conquest of Europe. They worry about their wines, baguettes and cheeses while ignoring the Islamic monster which rapes and destroys their countries. They hope that their Anti-Semitism and demonization of Israel will protect them against the barbaric Islamists. I am proud being a Jew. We will never give in, never surrender and never convert - regardless what the barbaric Jihadists or the European whimps will do. We will always fight for survival, for justice and for our historic rights to these lands. And the Muslims know that eventually we'll deal them a fatal blow from which they will never recover. We have endured and survived for 5000 years and we will survive for another 5000. At the rate they murder their own, it is doubtful however that Islam will.
13. To Observer: Will Damascus Be Toasted?
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (09.19.09)
Observer is correct in the comments about the capability of Hez and goals. Now, I understand both Hamas and Hez are getting Fajr rockets. The question is, will Iran and or Syria join the fighting? What about the Lebanese army? Israel does practice against a combo of these foes. Hez had 80,000 rockets..it's obvious that all of Israel is in danger. If Tel Aviv is struck, how will Israel retaliate per this article? Will it use weapons to make Southern Lebanon into a sheet of glass? (and resulting collateral damage?). Will it bomb Beirut and infrastructure? Should Israel hold Syria responsible for supplying such missiles? Is Damascus toast? And if Iran uses its Shihabs..then what?
14. The IDF next time around
DT ,   TA Israel   (09.19.09)
I really have GREAT confidence in the IDF. There is reality not cockiness. There will be another war and it will be severe so I hope that tis time coming Isreal will be devastating to it's enemies. We need the useless "UN Goldstones" to have some real "Shock and Awe
15. ACTION ALWAYS BEATS RE- ACTION !!!.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.19.09)
"We are not heading towards war but we are getting ready for one – there's a big difference," OH YES TOU ARE - IF NOT YOU ARE FOOLISH !!!. There's a newfound understanding that when you go to war – you war until the very end." EXACTLY - NO MORE CEASE-FIRES !!!. The premise is that the entire country will come under threat. The military rear as well as the home front will become vulnerable and we are gearing up for such a scenario. We will know how to keep (the threat) to a minimum." IF YOU KNOW , YOU WILL ALSO KNOW THAT, ACTION ALWAYS BEAT RE-ACTION !!!. As for the possibility that Tel Aviv might come under fire, Yehezkel said that in such an event, "The military will need to be given the leeway to ensure that the majority of Israel is out of missile range." HIT FIRST !!!, ACTION ALWAYS BEAT RE-ACTION !!!. Engineering Corps Commander Brig.-Gen. Moshe Shelly was more specific: "Firing at central Israel will carry devastating consequences for the perpetrator. I believe – I know – who ever will be responsible for it will be made to pay a hefty price, and I believe the enemy, Hezbollah, is aware of that as well. THE ENEMY MUST NEVER BE ALLOWED TO FIRING AT CENTRAL ISRAEL !!!. Savisa said the IDF is unlikely to be the first to pull the trigger: "Anyone who thinks that there is an instant solution that can destroy tens of thousands of rockets at once is daydreaming. UNLIKELY ???, IF THIS IS NOT CAMOFLAGE SPEACH, YOU ARE A FOOL !!!. Arn.
16. The next war should mark the end of
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.19.09)
beirut, damascus and gaza. The should be hit till they no longer exist. Israel should use the neutron bomb on all villages in the south of lebanon. Time to make the enemy suffer massive casualties and destruction. Maybe they will learn to leave us alone.
17. Next war will be ferocious. I would not like to be Israel's
Same BS ,   Different Day   (09.19.09)
enemy. I dont think there will be any choice but for absolutely massive force unleashed on anything that moves. Israel's enemies have increased their potential on all levels - even if they dont use this potential - it becomes a big liability when the action starts as naturally there will be much to accomplish very, very quickly ...so unfortunately many civilians on both sides will perish.
18. Israel should go for the lebanese army next time
(09.19.09)
19. Europe and the UN are cowards
Richard ,   Boca Raton   (09.19.09)
# 12 you are right on. As an American Jew with family living in Israel I have no doubt that Israel will unleash its military fury against all threatening Muslim targets, if need be. Collateral Damage will be a meaningless term because thousands of those cockroaches will be killed by Israel - and justified. It's called SELF PRESERVATION. These Muslim devils of Muhammed and Allah must be killed, because the only thing Muslims respect is POWER. The UN and Europe can all piss in their pants.
20. #12 & 15
John ,   Boise, Idaho USA   (09.19.09)
You are both correct and see the entire picture as clearly as anyone. No one in their right mind or senses wants Islam or their "society." The european nations need to wake up. When the muslim countries keep pressing, the civilized world will eventually hit them hard and level their cities. They will bring on their own genocide and eventually their own destruction. Too bad they can't see this for themselves.
21. #2 Far behind you champions of collateral killing
No kidding ,   Israel   (09.19.09)
22. I hope.........
Atheist Turk ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (09.19.09)
,,,,,,,,,, Israel s army is strong enough to defend the country as long as possible. This is really a lovely country and my second visit is fore sure, even I had to wait at the aiport for 2,5 hours. Greetings from Tel Aviv where I am at the moment and shana tova
23. The next war.
Philip ,   Afula,Israel   (09.19.09)
Give it a rest folks. Today is new year, cant we have at least one day without beating the drums. He who is really strong does not go around talking about it all the time .Are our people so insecure that they need knowjust how strong we are. Its about time we became a little more sophisticated, sixty years of this behaviour is ENOUGH. Reserve is not weakness.
24. #3 Observer:
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (09.19.09)
You write as if you know more than our own military experts. I suppose your intent is to demoralize. I am familiar with you from your ignorant other posts as well. It's already been suggested that you remove yourself to Haaretz where you'll certainly be welcomed as "one of the family". Incidentally, your false news only results in making us stronger, more deliberate and far more committed. Thanks!
25. #12 Turkish Jew:
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (09.19.09)
Thank you for your informative, well-written and inspiring comments. I am a retired psychologist. Your psychosocial observations of the European community hit the nail on the head.
26. in salvoes
observer   (09.19.09)
There was no evidence of attacks by single rockets. Invariably, all reports by civilians and reporters in the attacked communities mention alerts followed by “falls” in plural (nefilot in Hebrew) – that is, several rockets falling in sequence. It seems that the Hizbullah fired nearly all of its rockets, whether short or longer-range, in salvoes. It seems that the Hizbullah fired nearly all of its rockets, whether short or longer-range, in salvos. The IDF was clearly unaware of the stationary launchers’ location, and perhaps even of their existence, well into the war.
27. the next war
observer   (09.19.09)
Hamas in Gaza is already stocking up on longer-range rockets, and may well adapt the Hizbullah’s two-pronged strategy. The next war would be attrition by rocket and missile fire instead of a full-scale, 1973-style invasion.
28. He did indeed make some "spot-on" assessments, #25
Cameron ,   USA   (09.19.09)
Credit to #12 for being bluntly honest. As a dual national ( having both Irish & US passports), I have traveled enough to Europe over the decades to fully swing behind his call. I was always amazed at the European stance regarding the growing Islamic presence that is slowly, steadily undermining the culture & reality of W. Europe. It was easy enough to identify the psychological underpinnings of the European approach of apathy, indolence, and appeasement. A true, profound rot of the Euro psyche. Farewell Europe - thy doom is already upon you, and you have no one to blame but yourselves.
29. Yudi Moscow
Mae White ,   Israel   (09.19.09)
PRETEXT they're in danger? Arab enemies of Israel state it simply that destruction of Israel is their objective. How would you like to live under Hezbollah?
30. Turkish Jew
Mae White ,   Israel   (09.19.09)
