Well, well well!! No problem at al.Are we to understand that as a result of this decision the reception is not going to be held somewhere else in New York? Of course we know that it is going to be held.No problems there. So far as GE is concerned,it seems quite interesting to learn that officially it would not conduct any business with Iran but wasn't that the same company which knowingly exported banned items to Iran via a third country? Although it meant lot of paper work and diversion all the Iranian requirements were fulfilled. Why am I talking in past tense? It could be happening even now.Business as usual.

That was a good opportunity for Mr. Rubenstein or Mossad to poison Ahmadinejad's food and they just missed it!
6. #4 - so even when Iranian youth fight back, it's Jewish?
William ,   Israel   (09.22.09)
What a black eye to the millions of Iranian youth trying to throw off the yoke of this oppressive regime which rapes and tortures at will, not to mention spends all the money meant for the domestic economy in other countries to foster terror proxies. How utterly racist of you to insinuate that anything against Arabs is a Jewish conspiracy. But then again - Canadians themselves know of the haughty racist attitudes of the French Canadians who attempt to leave the union every couple of years and mock English speakers. Even the French don't like you - and that says alot!

Well, I suppose it is possible that Ahmedinejad can find some fleabag SRO to host his function. No decent hotel will. They have to worry about the other 364 days of the year that they host corporate functions for Fortune 500 companies who will doubtless follow General Electric's lead. And, in case you haven't heard, it is against the law for American companies to do business with state sponsors of terror. That would be Iran. And the federal bean counters would know it quite quickly were an American company try to do business with Iran via a third party. Besides --- most Americans haven't exactly ignored thirty years of being labeled the "Great Satan." No, Iran has been brought to its knees. Get used to the idea. Oh, but you probably already know that -- I note that you do, after all, call London home. Not Tehran. Wise decision on your part.

noah ,   israel   (09.22.09)
He is chemically imbalanced. This is an opportunity to grab him and put him in a psychiatric hospital for observation. But maybe also the leaders of countries in the UN should also be observed for allowing a schizorphrenic off his meds to speak in public.

Well, that's because you grew up in a culture (Moslem./Arab) that believes that having a shoe thrown at you is a most grievous insult. Americans don't see it that way. The first thing that comes off when I get home from work are my shoes. Sometimes, one or both travel a little further than I intended, but I have a golden retriever who lives for those moments. Brings 'em right back to me. No, being a woman --- I would consider it far more insulting to be forced to wrapped up like a mummy and walk behind my husband at all times, and be first the property of my father, then my husband, then my son. Ixnay. I'll take a tossed shoe over a burkha and being little more than a despised slave or body-wrapped piece of property any old day, thank you.

22. #6 William in his ignorance
Sean ,   Montréal, Québec   (09.22.09)
Perhaps someone needs to point out that Iran equates to Persian, not Arab. I realize the point is probably lost to someone with such an emotional and xenophobic rant such as yours. You go on to mention that the "French" hate me. Well, having never been to France I can't really say...but thanks for the paranoid tip. Regarding the mocking of English speakers, I can only assume you are referring to the Québecois. Evidently you don't have a clue of what you are saying." Attempt to leave the union every couple of years"...actually the last referendum was 14 years ago. But why should a fellow like you allow facts to get in the way when all you wish to do is transfer a malignant black and white view of reality and foist accusations of racism on others. Your rant reeks of ignorance which is the fundamental building block of all racists.
23. KICK AHMADINEJAD OUT OF YOUR HOTEL!!!!!!
Justin ,   Houston   (09.23.09)
In order to defeat evil (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) you have to defeat supporters of evil. The InterContinental Barclay Hotel in New York is sheltering the evil Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during his time in New York. Express your outrage. Call +1-212-755-5900 or email barclay@interconti.com.

25. Good Cause?
Stafano ,   NY, USA   (10.04.09)
Seeing corporations like GE sponsoring the Iran issue makes me shiver. Looking at the corporate interests involved it's in effect a "Buy American" campaign. Holier-than-thou GE just called their Media and Medical businesses in Iran now "humanitarian goods". So much for embargo :)
