Milosevic and Saddam Hussein were not allowed to causually dismiss the accusations made against them. this article had me going, until the very last sentence. it is not up to president obama, nor should it ever be, to ensure the israel "never faces another yom kippur war". israel's security must be guaranteed by israel, and must never be subordinated to america's "interests". president obama should strive to be a truly "honest broker", arranging an exchange of *peace for peace*, in which the palestinian terrorists renounce their violence, in exchange for peaceful gestures from israel. only israel, and the idf, put israeli lives ahead of "strategic considerations". after the yom kippur war came operation desert storm, in which direct hits on israeli cities were "acceptable" to the bush administration, in order to appease america's new-found "allies" in the arab world (syria and saudi arabia) . as the bible says: "israel, trust in god", and not in false promises.
