1. Understand the need to not leave any soldier behind
Galut ,   Selah   (09.26.09)
but I strugle to see the tolerance of releasing 1,000 Palestinian prisoners- many with israeli blood on thier hands and many that would draw more israeli blood given the chance...
2. about the same chance of mixing oil and water....

4. I Can Not Believe It!
Christy ,   Boston, US   (09.26.09)
"What is wrong with that?" Hard to believe any intelligent person would ask such a question in this situation. Does he really NOT understand why Israel may balk at exchanging ONE POW for a THOUSAND prisoners??!!
5. If he could prove Shalit was alive there would be a chance
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (09.26.09)
As long as Hamas is asking a ridiculously high price they need to show that Shalit is alive. But 1000 criminals and murders for a dead body will never pass muster here in Israel.
6. Which 1000 prisoners?

7. Just confirms that one Israeli is worth 1000 arabs
AJ ,   Tel Aviv   (09.26.09)
Arabs have repeatedly shown that they consider themselves to be worth a fraction of an Israeli. Considering what they have contributed to the world, even that ratio is optimistic: one hundred million Arabs have given us nothing but hatred, terrorism and backwardness. If not for their oil they would be an irrelevant curiosity of history. Israel should stick to this ratio: one thousand wounded for one wounded on our side; one thousand dead for one death on our side. And for every rocket we should give back a thousand. That's consistent and fair.
8. Egyptian Proposal
NYC Girl   (09.26.09)
I hope Obama is listening because this is the mindset he expects the Israelis to negotiate with. And if he doesn't think there's anything wrong with an Egyptian official even proposing such an obscene equation, wait until he finds out what Fatah and Hamas really have in mind for Israel.

Arab terrorist sympathizer, Egypt "mediating" between Israel and other Arab terrorists. Puke!
11. Demand that all nations free all terrorists
steve from raleigh   (09.26.09)
Especially any Muslim Brotherhood fanatics and send them all to Egypt.
12. Surely Israel can find a better mediator than this idiot!

13. 100% of israeli prisoners for 8% of palestinian prisoners ??
Jalal ,   Gaza   (09.26.09)
100% of israeli prisoners for 8% of palestinian prisoners ?? it's not fair at all 100% for 100% and that's it
14. My response to this proposal
ben Ish   (09.26.09)
Here is MY plan for releasing all prisoners, and opening the border on the Israel side, and disarming the checkpoints, and creating peace between all Gaza residents and Israel: Immediately begin an IDF training operation by destroying the entire Egyptian military, depose the Egyptian government, transport every "Palestinian" in Gaza directly to Cairo, along with every Israeli that participates in "Nakba" observance, and of course the entire prison population can be released in Cairo as well. All of Gaza can be resettled by everyone previously evicted, and any Jew who wants a spare apartment. Immediately following this, a quick phone call to Abbas, regarding J&S and travel arrangements eastward should solve our other problem as well. Then perhaps a quick statement to the Shah: "Feeling lucky, punk?" Vote for me.
15. decendents of pharoah are such honest independent mediators
zionist forever   (09.26.09)
Israel must accept Hamas demands. They are telling Israel to accept Hamas terms but they have not even got Hamas to agree to a Red Cross visit for Shalit, there hasn't even been a propoganda vidio to stir up sympathy amongst the Israeli public and encourage them to demand the government accept Hamas demands. If Shalit was alive wouldn't it make sense to do that considering it would probably work in Hamas favour? Alive or dead a responsible Israeli government cannot agree to release up to 1000 terrorists many valuable and with blood on their hands and would not hesitate to kill again. We must think about the security of the public and soldiers who will be take again in future if we make kidnapping so profitable. Egypt is an enemy of Israel they are not only taking Hamas side with negotiations but they are encouraging arab states to refuse normalization with Israel unless it accepts all arab demands. Lets not forget Egypt is the land of the pharoah and have been responsible for launching at least 2 major wars against Israel in modern times. Never trust an enemy especially an arab enemy.
