I just checked the OECD fact book. 2006 figures ranked Israel 13th in triadic patents - those registered in the three major offices (US, Europe and Japan). With 477 patents, it's ahead of Australia (sorry, mates), Belgium, and Finland. The only Muslim country listed is Turkey at 22. Now that Israeli inventors need not bear the expense of multiple patent filings, I expect Israel's rankings to move up rapidly in coming years. To hameed, thank you for your words. I visited Iran in '76 and saw your country's potential. Back then Israel and Iran were working together. I look forward to them doing so again. When Israel gets its embassy back (Iran gave it to the PLO), it'll be a new day for the middle east.
