1. amen!
Ilana   (09.29.09)
Let the truth come out. The HRW and others like them are a bunch of creeps who commit crimes against decent humanity.
2.  speaking of "Moral bankruptcy'"
sami ,   son of palestine   (09.29.09)
Elie Wiesel should look in the mirror first, for his condoning of the killing of innocent Palestinians.
3. I thought I'd never see the day...
Andy   (09.29.09)
It's about time a review was made of HRW but my natural cynicism prevents me from getting my hopes too high.
4. Oh Dear........
Shlomo Kamra   (09.29.09)
Weasal and Dirtbag are upset because people dare to criticize Israel. They are afraid of the truth getting out. Very afraid!
5. Independent investigation needed
Frank ,   Canada   (09.29.09)
An independent investigation of these so-called human right defense organizations is needed. Their agenda, their fundings and their bias must be investigated.
6. Beyond reform
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.29.09)
It is too far gone for reform. Needs to be restarted by non-partisan people.
7. To #4-shlomo, aka Machmud
Jennie ,   USA   (09.29.09)
Feels more like it is you, who is squeeling all over this board now, that Israel is on the offence, machmud. There is critisism and then there are formal occusations. It scares you to death, that Israel is responding.. So who is the coward here ?! You are a pathetic looser...
8. Focus is in Violators ....i,e. Israel
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (09.30.09)
Offcourse if Israel is committing crimes against humanity then it doesn't need a PhD to figure Israel is going to be targetted. Many pro Israel groups and individuals are saying Goldstones report and reccomendations have to be acted upon.
9. # 4 don't you have the balls to use your real name?
GZLives   (09.30.09)
Clearly not ...
10. What is being done about Darfur crimes?
vered ,   israel   (09.30.09)
While Israel does not have rights to harm civilians, even if they do take the utmost measures, Gaza was a temporary operation. What happens in Darfur continues to this day. The human rights abuses there cannot be compared in a long shot. So how come so much attention and effort is levelled at Israel and nothing at Darfur? For sure this is anti-semitism cloaked under humanitarian concerns.
11. Well, well Peter Morris, this is rich coming from you
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (09.30.09)
violating every rule in the book of human rights for Maoris and renaming Maoriland after your native homeland of Old Zealand of Netherlands is the height of war criminality having to gall to blame Jews taking their country back from Arb illegal occupiers? this is why you identify with them, you have a lot in common in the land theft business
12. MORAL BANKRUPTCY
Loraine ,   Los Angeles, USA   (09.30.09)
It appears to me that Israel has slipped into MORAL BANKJRUPTCY!
13. Goldstone was a whitewash, protecting Israel
William Standard ,   Coventry England   (09.30.09)
The Goldstone report was a whitewash protecting Israel. Goldstone looked at flattened chicken farms and flour mills, but then skated over the big problems like "was Israel entitled to act in self-defense?" and "was Israel justified in blocking the escape of refugees?" And it's worse than that - Goldstone failed to ask "did Israel breach the cease-fire?" Because if it's true Israel breached it, then even the self-defense argument can't be used. Of course, the rest of the world is already wondering what to think of a report that accords considerable attention to Gilad Shalit (a soldier) but no mention of the thousands (including educators, parliamentarians and medics) held by Israel in a system where torture is legal.
14. #13: EVERYONE is "entitled" to self-defense, even Israelis.
usa   (09.30.09)
And the boy who lost his leg from a Qassam explosionwill surely beg to differ with your assessment. He didn't live on a "chicken farm," but was playing in the street with his brother. Hamas and IJ's intent was not to hit "chicken farms and flour mills," but to terrorize civilians. They just had bad aim.
15. Douchewitz
David   (09.30.09)
The only thing morally bankrupt here is Alan Dershowitz. The fact that this Harvard professor who engages in grade school level plagiarism and calls for indiscriminate killing of people based on their race or political standing is given a voice in the media, much less one that masquerades as a voice of moral authority, and with that voice calls for the censure of others who attempt to bring some sliver of justice for wholesale ethnic slaughter which was itself perpetrated by the descendants of victims of ethnic slaughter - this is a black joke on an order that leaves me without words to describe it. I don't know whether to cry, spit, or laugh.
16. goldstone report
bob ,   carefree, USA   (10.01.09)
My, My! When Israel apologists get so exorcised there must be some truth to the report. It is simply brilliant to try to re-write history even before the "history" hits the print, but the world is watching and the world is catching up with the truth about the middle east.
17. 16 - Bob
Hannah ,   Leicester   (11.23.09)
And what truth is that Bob? That the Palestinians lie and distort history? That they cannot accept responsibility for their own failings and the bad judgments of their leadership.? That they constantly have to play the victim? That they glorify death and destruction over life and creativity and teach their children to hate from the cradle?
18. whitewash
freya ,   london england   (11.23.09)
Pleas tell me where u get your information that torture is legal in Israel? why dont u ask my palestinians friends from Gaza what torture is all about. They suffered at the hands of hamas and were tortured. they would have prefered to be in an Israeli prison/
