1. The sheer stupidity of it
guy ,   Israel   (09.29.09)
Recommending investigation by the militants... they announce their intent to harm the Israeli civilian population as part of the "resistance". It's in their charter, in everyday announcements and speeches. Goldstone is really out of touch... or simply lying.
2. Sometimes US sounds so patronizing
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (09.29.09)
Richard Posner called on Israel to conduct a "transparent investigation" into allegations it had committed war crimes. As if Israel needs US (or UN) guidance to conduct such investigations, which Israel carries out as a matter of course. Perhaps someone should remind Posner that civilian:combatant fatality figures resulting from IDF action are far lower than those of the US in Afghanistan or Iraq.
3. Investigation
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (09.29.09)
Goldstein did not intend to investigate anything. He is simply a paid soldier in the Arab war to exterminate the Jews. To pretend he is a judge is an insult to the profession
4. Investigation (#3)
JJ ,   The Hague, NL   (09.30.09)
It's quite possible that the UN dismisses G's report because of 'undesirable consequences'. So, better stop targeting the messenger and start questioning your leaders.
5. in what way?
tom ,   toronto, canada   (09.30.09)
in what way will a "transparent investigation" promote peace? will it stop hamas from firing at israeli civilians? perhaps an unbiased investigation, that clearly condemns palestinian terrorism, and is followed up with arrests, convictions, and executions might be a more productive step towards peace. or a concerted american campaign to replace the palestinians' terrorist warlords with a democratic, accountable civilian government, would go even further. prior to the (plo) occupation, the palestinians lived for 20 years, prosperously and peacefully alongside israel without "gestures". but neither the americans nor the arabs are really interested in a peace that includes coexistence with israel.
6. PEOPLE ARE BECOMING IMBECILES, WHAT'S NEXT?

7. europe support the hamas verboly and iran sending ammo
now i get it........   (09.30.09)
8. Investigate Obama's war crimes in Afghanistan
(09.30.09)
9. Trash Report
Brod ,   USA   (09.30.09)
A report that trashes a nation for defending itself from external aggressions is nothing but trash to be discarded. Those who are peddling this report are nut cases. Israel should tell them to go to Hell.
10. Sure America, we will have an investigation.
David   (09.30.09)
If you let us investigate what you did in Iraq and Afghanistan first!
11. Create" Swiss-Based".. Anti "G"Report !
Roland Seener ,   London England   (09.30.09)
12. Israel Should Request.....
Dan ,   USA   (09.30.09)
This is nothing more than the pro Arab, anti Israel Obama government throwing out a "Red Herring" for the liberal, anti Israel media to go after. Casualties happen in war, even to good people. Israel's government should petition the Muslim Obama's government to investigate all the innocent civilian casualties in Iraq, Afganistan and Pakistan. It is only fair.
13. And when that doesn't plan out...
publius ,   USofA   (09.30.09)
the report can be instantly transferred to the Hague, so all is not lost. Give me a break. As if playing ball with investigations into operation cast lead will lead to peace. the prospect of better relations with the Palestians by investigating Israel's actions is not going to make for a break through in peace talks. Give me a break, this is a clear puesdo carrot, the only aim is to compile a one side view of the conflict under the premiss of a peace discussions, then when suprise, suprise nothing comes of it, this one-sided investigation can be given to some court. so transparent. How about starting with a defination of war, the failure of diplomacy. that is the failure to get the palestinians to stop trying to murder jews with missile attacks. why should Hamas be given a free ride for their role, just because Hamas isn't a State is not a valid reason to sweep their blood stained role under the rug.
14. What abouts hundreds of Palestinians killed?
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (09.30.09)
Good try Mirella. However during the period prior to Gaza blitz hundreds of Palestinians were killed by the IDF under various pretexts.. No mention for those as individuals. The Goldstone report was primarily focused on Gaza. Injuring Mirella in May 2008 didn't justify 1500 casualties in Gaza.
15. Let's make a deal...
Adam ,   USA   (09.30.09)
Obama destroys Iran's nuclear facilities, and expresses full support for Israel... then maybe, JUST maybe Israel should do what the US says and "investigate".
16. Is anyone probing the deaths caused by Garlasco?
Zvi   (09.30.09)
Oh, of course not. He's not Israeli.
17. US: What nerve!
Steve Klein   (09.30.09)
"US Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner called on Israel to conduct a "transparent investigations" into allegations that it had committed alleged war crimes during Operation Cast Lead...." What nerve, these American hypocrites! You conduct investigations into alleged war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan where you killed thousands! And while you are at it, conduct investigations into alleged war crimes against German and Japanese civilians during the second world war. USAF deliberately targeted / fire-bombed German and Japanese cities. Who is this Posner to lecture the Jews about war crimes?
18. Sorry
Paul O ,   Los Angeles, Ca USA   (09.30.09)
I sincerely apologize for our current administration. Hopefully, Israel can get through this Idiocracy and we can change things in 2012. Maybe American Jews will figure out that the Democrats aren't their friends anymore and start backing politicians who understand the difference between a productive democracy like Israel and a Victocracy like the pathetic Palestinian wasteland.
19. Our arab president o-BUM-a needs a brain enema.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (09.30.09)
He is failing at everything, his polls are way down, and he acts as if he owns the world. Put a water bucket up against one ear and water will come out the other side.
20. VULTURES ASKING EACHOTHER FOR THE DETAILS OF THE HUNTING
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (09.30.09)
21. Peter Morris the armchair kiwi expert
JPS ,   Efrat   (09.30.09)
It never really occurs to Peter Morris and his ilk that the cause of the war was 7 years of war crimes by Palestinians, couple with totally paralysis by the UN and supposed "human rights" bodies. Here is Goldstone's conclusion, verbatim: "From the facts available, the Mission finds that the rocket and mortars attacks, launched by Palestinian armed groups in Gaza, have caused terror in the affected communities of southern Israel and in Israel as a whole. Furthermore, it is the Mission’s view that the mortars and rockets are uncontrolled and uncontrollable, respectively. This indicates the commission of an indiscriminate attack on the civilian population of southern Israel, a war crime, and may amount to crimes against humanity." Obviously, if firing rockets at Israeli civilians is a war crime, then the war crimes started decades ago. That civilians die in a war is a sad fact of life. That Morris is a dupe for Palestinian propaganda is also a sad fact of life. If the Palestinians want peace, then they should not have voted in Hamas, whose policy is on record as being that of both war and war crimes. Sorry, Peter Morris, but maybe you should pay more attention to reparations for your crimes against the Maoris.
22. When do we investigate the UN?
Cynthia ,   USA   (09.30.09)
For producing nothing but biased reports and condemnations of Israel. Goldstone should be ashamed of himself.
23. Probe THIS!
(09.30.09)
24. great! america becomes anti-israel...
uli ,   jerusalem   (09.30.09)
25. The US should probe Iraq and Afghanistanianwars
Lioness ,   Israel   (09.30.09)
How MANY civillians have the Americans and Brittish killed in iraq and Afghanistan under so-calles collateral damage???? There should be an inquiry to the many THOUSANDS of innocent Iraqi and Afghan people that have been killed by the above mentioned.
