1. Judaism Rules
Mark ,   Australia   (10.06.09)
My Point is, there ways, are for them our ways are for us. This area is not theres , jews have more right to the site as anyone, its about time laws are changed to take jewish considerations in respect of our rights according to jewish faith. We constantly respect other peoples beleives with no considerations to ours. Enough is enough ,some one needs to change the balance of this position also, its not just in a millitary sense that we need the upper hand, we cannot let others box us out of our own heritage and then tell us that its there heritage that counts, its our land, our right and jewish heritage all the way to the bank, nothing has changed. Enforce it, Palestinians dont have any right to our land or the right to distort our heritage and also disrespect it, they need to be told or shown the way out. Under no un-equivical circumstances can we let fantaics whether extremest or moderate, tell us that judaism is finished, fundamentally this is what they are saying right to your face. If there is no understanding on there behalf a deal must be made, the wrong messages are being sent .Because of this, across the globe, muslims think they can get away with anything and this is there example especially about this situation , it makes sense to set examples on the ground according to judaism and our beleifs. Also the P.A has no right to open there mouth about israeli territory, jerusalem is the capital of the jewish state and its about time some one made this clear. If we do they will not get stupid ideas about the future, this is one of our current problems , we are not being stern enough up front , how many times will you give a molokite the opportunity to heckle for a photo op. Change the game, change the balance, win the war.
2. Oh, for crying out loud

If the Arabs start trouble (again) then I hope the troublemakers are either arrested or their heads smacked in for rioting to the lies of the clerics and Tibi. I'm sick of all this protect Al Aqsa crap. Protect it from what? Israel foolishly handed back the keys in '67 to the Waqf and has let Arabs control it for the last 40+ years. What a mistake that turned out to be. If they riot like animals, they will deserve every billy club to the head they receive.
3. Unbeleivable
Slice ,   US   (10.06.09)
Why is it that everytime "Palis" / extremist Muslins have a religious holiday they want peace and quite, except to attack Israelis that is, but whenver it is a Jewish holiday(Or another religions holiday for that matter) they are up in arms and calling for another infatada or riots. Don't they know that we could care less about their stupid temple mount, there is no history to support this imagined idea that this is a very religious spot in the Muslim religion. At no point does it ever get mentioned in any of their religious works. The only reason their temple mount was built, was so they could keep Jews from building a new Temple on the site of the original two. I am sick and tired of the endless and unfounded propaganda that gets forced upon everyone who is not Muslim. It amazes me how "extremist" Muslims seem to think their religion is the only one in the world that matters and that all others must bend to their whims. Especially when it is another religions holiday. So basically, flip off "Palis" and go stick you head in the ground, opps to late!!!!!!!!!
4. Time to leave for those who
palestine dove ,   afula israel/palesti   (10.06.09)
No one is going to be fooled by official Israeli hasbara over this. Fanatic Jews should not be allowed any where near the Mosque compound since we all know what they are up to. It`s quite astonishing to read here the many comments by die hard deluded Zionists who keep refering to the Mosque as `mount`. Well, let me tell you something you never read in official Zionist narrative. The handful of Jews or so who had lived in the old city of Jerusalem since the Arab conquest in the 7th century A.D never bothered with the area until the late 16th century. Previous generations of Jews who visited or resided in the city had never made any attempt at praying near the Mosque. Until the 1920`s, Jews never prayed near the site and only started demanding access after the arrival of the British in 1918 to the part of the wall of the Mosque where the current Western Wall stands. The entire history of a Jewish link to the city is a fabrication. Jerusalem is as Arab as Paris is French.
5.  those that storke the strings of hate
galut ,   Selah pause &reflect   (10.06.09)
Quote:"Muslims were called to "thwart" any attempt by Jewish groups to enter the compound. " ========== instead of working out a peaceful sharing of the mount and creating spirit of co-operation where there could be mutual maintainance of structures there...the powers in control of the mount stroke the strings of bitterness and hate. The God whos home is there did not mean this to be ...and those that storke the strings of hate will be the ones destroyed by it !
6. Jerusalem
Shimon ,   Poleg   (10.06.09)
Jerusalem has remained the capital of the Jewish people in spite of efforts by many. The Ancient Greeks, The Roman Empire, The Persian Empire The Ottomans, The British Empire, many have tried to destroy us or change the city of Jerusalem none have succeeded! We have remained in Jerusalem and will be there long after the world has forgotton what Islam is. This is a temporary phenomenon like the Romans and the others this is a stain on history and the Jews have and will always remain in their capital of Jerusalem.

9. Jerusalem the Only Holie place to Judaism.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (10.06.09)
One of the most popular lies that has become universally accepted as if it was an indisputable truth is the myth about Jerusalem being the third sacred place to Islam. It is quite rare to hear the honest truth, that Jerusalem is the First and Only Holiest place to Judaism! As a matter of fact, Jerusalem is not mentioned at all in the koran, and Muhammad has never been there (perhaps he did not even know about the existence of Jerusalem!). The tale about his dream flight has been related with Jerusalem in a very recent time for political strategy purposes. The Islamic claim to the Temple Mount is very recent - Jerusalem's role as "The Third Holiest Site in Islam" in mainstream Islamic writings does not precede the 1930s. It was created by the grand mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini as explained at : http://xrl.us/bjheo

connection, and he won't be able to. Where does Jerusalem fit into Islam and Muslim history? It is not the place to which they pray, is not once mentioned by name in prayers, and it is connected to no mundane events in Muhammad's life. The city never served as capital of a sovereign Muslim state, and it never became a cultural or scholarly center. Little of political import by Muslims was initiated there. Jane

13. There's no real reason for these riots
Pallywood   (10.06.09)
The muslim leaders again lie and tell their public that Israel is attacking the temple mount mosque or whatever, we all know its not true but they do it on purpose, they want this to happen, to raise their public against the jews.
14. If this is true, these Muslims don't believe.
vered ,   israel   (10.06.09)
Such insecurity and lack of confidence in their own religion is revealed by this irrational behavior. This blatant anti-semitism simply has its' roots in fear. They are afraid that Judaism will win over Islam. What they don't understand, is that Judaism is really not in a competition with any religion! Maybe that is what makes it so attractive. The time has come for Muslim leaders to put Islam on a pedestal and start valuing their religion instead of feeling threatened all the time.

You forgot the Bible. Jewish links with Jerusalem and the first & second temples are well documented there. Banning Jews from the Temple Mount is like banning muslims from Mecca and Medina.
18. No one is going to break into the Mosque
JO   (10.06.09)
what on earth are they talking about? There is law and order and clearly we know to whom the Mosque on the Temple Mount belongs to - Muslims. The compound is huge and receives many many tourists - Jews and non Jews, and for this there is only one entrance (there are others for just muslims) Visiting the compound is allowed only at certain times and most Jews do not bother going - they prefer the Wall. Yet muslim youth throw stones down at Jewish worshippers at the wall and throw stones at a bunch of tourists visiting the Temple Mount. Why do they have to have a police escort - just because of this issue. You are not safe in the Temple Mount Compound.perhaps it is time to ban tourists of all sorts completely. Muslims leaders are stiring this riots by heating passions and saying things that are not true. At least Judaism respects Islam - look at what Islamic leaders did when they conquered the Jewish quarter, all the Jewish holy places where destroyed. Israelis did not do this when they captured the Old City and respected the Muslim right to their Mosque. Perhaps we should have acted like they do.

Since 2003 free access to the Temple Mount to Jews and tourists has been allowed from 7:30 to 10 A.M. and from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M., via the Mugrabi Gate. Before the outbreak of the second intifada in September 2000, these visits had to be coordinated with the Waqf religious trust.

Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (10.06.09)
In 1560, Sultan Suleiman (known as the Magnificent) officially recognized the rights of Jerusalem's Jews to pray at the Western Wall, something they had done for centuries. The first acts of worship done by Jews at the Western Wall was done during the start of the Christian period of the Roman Empire - the Jews were permitted, with great difficulty, to pray there at the 9th of Av to lament the destruction of the Temple. Jews were forbidden to live in Jerusalem during that period, so that single day was the one time they were allowed to enter. Records on that matter exist from numerous periods - records of Christian pilgrims from 333, Church Father Gregory of Nazianzus' records, and Jerome commentary to Zephaniah from the later 4th century. The year 425 saw the Jews of the Galilee write to request official permission from the East Roman Empress Aelia Eudocia for permission to pray at the temple ruins on a permanent basis - the permission, and the right to resettle in Jerusalem, was granted. Jewish travelers from the 10th and 11th century also recorded the worship services at the Western Wall. Aaron ben Me'ir, Samuel ben Paltiel, Solomon ben Judah, Issac Heilo... the tradition was only broken during the Crusader conquests, when Jews were expelled from the city, briefly restored after Saladin's reconquest of Jerusalem, and then taken from them by his son and heir, al-Afdal, who treated it as a part of the al-Aqsa mosque. The Ottoman period, from the early 16th century, saw a restoration of the services - the Ottomans were generally benevolent toward the Jews, and Suleiman the Magnificent restored the Jews' right to worship at the Western Wall with much pomp and ceremony. 1840 saw Ibrahim Pasha issue a decree that Jews should not pave the plaza in front of the wall, that they should not bring holy books (Torah scrolls) to the site, or even pray too loudly. This was the start of a new period of limitation on Jewish right of worship in Jerusalem. Abdul Hamid II restored full right of worship to Jews in 1889, allowing full and unquestionable rights to prayer in the Western Wall area. 1911 saw the Administrative Council of the al-Aqsa area of Jerusalem set certain limitations on Jewish rights of worship again, and it was these that the Jews sought revoked when the British arrived. Since then the Muslims of Jerusalem have sought time and time again to limit Jewish worship and services at the Western Wall, with the likes of you going as far as to revise history. You're nothing new. Fortunately, the rest of us base our history on *facts* rather than on what's taught by propagandists.
25. is destroying Al-Aqsa equal to Taliban blowing up Buddhas?

No!, Al-Aqsa is much much bigger.
26. #4 incidentally, it's very much a mount.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (10.06.09)
The al-Aqsa mosque is built right over the ruins of the Jewish Temple, whose remains the Waqf kindly began carting away as construction rubbish into the river in the dead of night a few years ago. And the street level beyond it used to be about 17-18m lower - the foundations of the Western Wall go much lower than visible, and what the old city of Jerusalem is built on, by and large, is Jerusalem. You dig down, you tend to find the old streets and houses more often than not. It's why every construction work (other than the Waqf's destruction of relics) is first preceded by archeological preservation works.
27. #21almost all of the Old City's synagogues destroyed.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (10.06.09)
Under Jordanian rule. Jewish gravestones used as paving material. Mosques, in contrast, tended to survive more often than not. All the old mosques of Lod are standing, even if many did not see use for decades. So did Be'er Shevas mosques. Israel didn't maintain any of them, though, so anything not maintained by local Muslims tended to fall apart eventually.
28. paving grave-stones?
observer   (10.06.09)
you use the whole of living human-beings as stones to pave a non-existing temple. A martyr is killed by an occupation soldier, but with an American weapon backed by American policy and justified by the UN Security Council in America.
29. #28 Cut the BS, please.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (10.06.09)
No one is using humans as paving stones in this country, the very implication is absurd. No one is threatening to destroy the al-Aqsa mosque - more damage has been done to it by the Waqf authorities, physically and spiritually, than us "evil Zionists" ever did or ever will. We're not the ones throwing stones from the mosque plaza above on the Jewish worshippers at the Western Wall below. We're not the ones who have to invent gun-totting assaults on mosques to start riots - the "catalyst" was a group of tourists that received a police escort for fear of assaults, which unsurprisingly happened. We're not the ones preparing stone piles in advance to throw at policemen, tourists, worshipers, or just plain passers-by. The paranoia and hatred of extremist Imams an groups created an impossible situation - you can't back down for fear of "losing face" now. It's yet another silly "divine struggle" which will have its casualties for nothing. Nothing at all. Just rage and honor. Are you sure it's worth it?
