63. Obama Wins Nobel Prize
NYC Girl   (10.09.09)
First of all, this is even more ridiculous than it appears at first glance because the selection was actually made on February 1st of this year...after Obama had only been in office for two weeks. That's probably the reason why a number of people have pointed out that Obama is the third person who has been awarded the prize because they weren't George Bush.
64. are they serious?
OZ   (10.09.09)
a simple demagogue, who has achieved nothing, has done nothing, gets this coveted prize for... trying! heck, i should have gotton it twice in a row!
65. Nobel peace prize?
Brod ,   USA   (10.09.09)
Is this a joke or a preemption on Obama? This is making Obama a Jimmy Carter Chapter 2. This is also undermining America's national security interests at home and abroad.
66. Nobel Prize Winner?
bewildered ,   Israel   (10.09.09)
With thousands of American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, President Obama still has to prove his merit as a peace maker on he wold scene as well as in his own back yard.
67. And I thought my jokes were bad!

70. United States on the Sidelines of History
Mladen Andrijasevic ,   Be'er Sheva   (10.09.09)
They could have waited at least until the policies of the His Nobel Wonderfulness would cone to full fruition -- either Iranian nuclear sites destroyed by Israel , not by the US, or Israel in ruins after a nuclear attack from Iran . This US abdication of a superpower's responsibility and standing on the sidelines of history would have pleased the Norwegian committee even more.
71. UGH
ADI ,   Haifa, Israel   (10.09.09)
S..t!! Why the H..l did I not get this Nobel Piece Prize?? I've also done exactly nothing for peace.
72. Nobel peace price..........
Tom ,   Chester, United King   (10.09.09)
So President Obama took up the position of president in January 2009, the dead line for the nominations was February 1st 2009, firstly who put him forward?? for what??. The remaining 204 other nominees get nothing for the hard work some have been doing for their lives....!! Don't get me wrong in the long run he may deserve it....!!! But he did nothing before the dead line!!! Oh and the $1.4 million dollars...yes lets give it to a man who needs it!!! GIVE IT TO CHARITY OBAMA...Israel..climate change!!

77. #60 Amusing. Carter pushed no one.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (10.09.09)
At best, he was a convenient yes-man who agreed to giving Egypt the financial and military support it needed to fully break away from under the Soviet Union's thumb. The rest was just a matter of smart politics and goodwill on both sides. Peace negotiations being slow until 1977, Sadat said he was willing to visit Israel in an official capacity. And Begin invited him. Sadat's visit to Israel, and Begin invitation for that visit, cemented the proceedings from that point on - the rest was details, long as tedious as they were. Carter kicking someone? The only person he "kicked" was the Shah of Iran, and look where that got us.
78. Next year Ahmadinejad for "giving up nukes" LOL
USA   (10.09.09)
79. Doesn't really surprise me....
Malone ,   Hfx   (10.09.09)
....stranger things have happened..he obviously is not worthy, but the honor of receiving this award diminished greatly when it was given to Arafat....so now it's a dubious honor..political only.
80. Zarebin #59 makes an excellent point
A. Plomb   (10.09.09)
Yes, now Obama will be even MORE reluctant to act decisively in military matters. He'll look quite undeserving of the Peace Prize should he wage war on Iran. Perhaps the Nobel Committee isn't trying to award excellence in peace-making. Perhaps they're trying to meddle with Obama's foreign policy decisions. Carter didn't receive the award until well after his Presidency. Granting the award to a sitting President, especially one as self-obsessed as Obama, certainly has the power to influence his decision-making on critical issues. What a tragic irony it will be when and if Obama--through dithering, ineptitude, appeasement, and closet radicalism--presides over the start of World War Three.
81. I just arrived from the moon, but what has he done to desrve
Tzvi ,   Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu   (10.09.09)
this prize. I am yet to see a single case in which Obama has achieved or even helped to achieve a state of peace between waring parties.
82. The Nobel Prize for literature goes to...PARIS HILTON!!!
woohoooooooo   (10.09.09)
The Nobel Prize for literature goes to... PARIS HILTON!!!
83. Norway is anti-semitic
azitro ,   Oslo, Norway   (10.09.09)
Maybe Norway should give the Nobel peace prize to one of their governmental political parties? For example Arbeiderpartiet could get the peace prize for their efforts to hide Norways war crimes during the aftermath of WW2. The aluminium company Norsk Hydro had an aluminium factory where 1000 Yugoslavic prisoners of war were used as slaves for the German nazi-regime. After the war, Arbeiderpartiet (which Jonas Gahr Store is a member of) , helped covering up the warcrimes of the norwegian leaders of Norsk Hydro. I gues in an effort to bring peace to the country... These historical facts was recently discussed in the norwegian newspaper morgenbladet. Arbeiderpartiet has also falsified other parts of Norwegian war history to their advantage. So, I say: Give the Peace prize to the norwegian nazi collaborators in Arbeiderpartiet. Atleast then Norway would have to face the global public with Norways true face: The anti-semitic twosided face of Scandinavians. Look to Norway!
84. ..ONE MORE THING...
OZ   (10.09.09)
it is a sad day indeed to anyone who thinks the noble prize is worth anything or stands for something meaningfull. the obama train wreck is going nowhere, and this is a poor choice by the eurobains to make up for obama's slap in the face last friday, at the ioc's olympic city slection.
85. Obahma, How much did you back-hand them?

You forgot Peres who shared the prize with Arafat. Arafat died and Pres has done nothing yet. Carter, Tutu and Obama are men of peace.
