Yoni ,   Sydney   (10.11.09)
with my own eyes Can someone please explain how this works?
2. obama
steve ,   israel   (10.11.09)
President obama was nominated after only 2 months in office. I always thought the noble peace prize was for accomplishing something, not dreaming about it. Objectively, Obama received his prize for getting elected president.
3. Hogwash!
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (10.11.09)
The same things that are being said quietly in Israel about Obama are being said in the United States, too. Believe it or not, a great many Americans were angered by Obama's open courting of Iran and Syria -- both state sponsors of terror. Especially with Iran -- the vast majority of Americans are not interested in rapprochement with a country that refers to us as the "Great Satan" and that invaded our embassy and took hostages, and kept them for a very long time. We are not particularly interested in making enormous -- foolishly so -- concessions to unstable and tyrannical regimes, very much at the expense of Israel's safety and security. Americans are angry at being bogged down in international situations which cost American lives daily, supposedly in order to benefit people who are not interested in democracy, have no history or desire for it, and who despise Americans. Really -- Americans have no wish to die on behalf of Afghanis, Pakistanis, Saudis, Iraqis or pretty much anyone. Israel has never done anything to endanger a single American life, nor which would result in the loss of life of a single American serviceman or woman. Americans know this. Really we do. There are problems aplenty right here in the United States which are far more important than forcing Israel to "negotiate" with terrorist rabble bent on her destruction. Yet, that has been the overwhelming focus of Obama's administration to date. Want proof? Check out Obama's approval rating and popularity rating, both of which have dropped dramatically since he took office. We don't much like his foreign policy and, so far, he has yet to address domestic policy in any serious way. What's being said privately and quietly about Obama in Isrrael is, unfortunately, quite true. Obama's vision is not a noble vision of world peace and security. Rather, it is the unrealistic and delusional vision of a raging egomaniac. We've seen these come and we've them go, and the world has always been left the worse for wear.
4. As Com in Chief with a PEACE prize he shud sell off US Army

5. ugh
moldeeny ,   UK   (10.11.09)
dear God, what is with the opening of the article?! "Barack Obama is a muslim, pro-Arab, naïve, weak, and would love to screw Israel" Why are negatives like 'naive, weak screw Israel' placed alongside 'muslim and pro-arab'. Is being a muslim bad? is being pro-arab bad? Is everyone who is a mulsim and pro-arab to be called Osama? :S what a racist article. I refused to read any further after the first two sentences. What an idiot.
6. Ego-a-Plenty
Pauline ,   Israel   (10.11.09)
Just check out the photo accompanying the article - the high head and the grin say it all. hhhmmmm - talk about a picture saying a 1000 words ...
7. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (10.11.09)
Objectively -- being an Arab is neither bad nor good; being a Moslem is neither bad nor good. Being an Arab and/or Moslem who supports terrorism and pushes the cause of terrorist groups who are bent on the destruction of the State of Israel is bad. Very, very bad. You should have read further. The author praises Obama and casts him in a light which few Americans accord him. More fool you.

9. MORE LEFT-WING LIBERAL ATHEIST CRAP!!!!!!!!!!
OBAMA HUSSEIN will ,   destroy the world!   (10.11.09)
Obama Hussein is nothing more then an actor, a self-absorbed narcissist who portrays himself as a political messiah -- the anointed one. There has never been a president with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements. Obama Husseins narcissism has become obvious to many. OBAMA HUSSEIN IS A LOSER!
10. to 5 be a good moslem

11. OBAMA :-)
benjamin ,   singapore   (10.11.09)
Actually many of you here dont like Obama because he is a muslim , isnt it so ? You idiots listen ! No body like us because we are jews! Now you dont like Obama because he is a muslim ! Actually we jews and muslims deserve each other by our prejudice we have for each other ! Please put all that prejudice and look at him as a human being, we all should be proud to see balck leading the USA. Next I want to see teh Vatican electing a Black Pope ! Be nice to your neighbours, please ! Obama in terms of performance ? Look, you cant expect miracles in a short time ! You need to give him some time ! but I am disappointed with Obama in terms of the investment policy in South East Asia ! He has to do something, that he has forgotten. Mr Bush promise must be kept by Obama. If not I wont support Obama. But we will support the USA and Israel- because we are friends. Either you idiots pull your resources up to suppot this OBama or just shut up ! We relied to much on the USA now we are backing out...unless USA do something positive for us. I am sure the american know singapore weel enough but I hope they dont forget their good friends in South East asia hub and teh agteway to the east and west ! cheers ben singapore
12. 1st two sentences are fact. Nobel now gives awards for lies
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (10.11.09)
and unaccomplished dreams instead of actual deeds. Regan broke the back of Communism and freed millions of people from tyrany and these Nobel dolts give the peace award to o-BUM-a for what he WANTS to do, mainly destroy Israel and give the land to the terrorists. o-BUM-a's award has tarnished the Nobel prize so badly that it is now worth nothing. Oprah will probably win next year and she deserves it more than o-BUM-a.
13. We need a President, not a Dreamer & Romantic
Cameron ,   USA   (10.11.09)
That his ambitions and agenda have ground to halt, 7+ months in, speaks for itself.
14. Rediculous
Joey ,   Jerusalem   (10.11.09)
So if I make an action plan based on my dreams, do I get the Noble Peace Prize prior to carrying out my plan?? He has done nothing yet but hypothesize. Maybe he will be deserving of this recognition once his plan is put into action. But Who knows if it will work??
15. Obama
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (10.11.09)
He may be a dreamer, but so were Karl Marx, Adolf Hitler and Mao Tse Tung and we all know what those dreams looked like when the blinders came off.
16. President Obama
SarahSue ,   America   (10.11.09)
‘Obama was a suspicious face from the very beginning, a person that cannot be addressed without bias.’ You accuse me of bias before I can even open my mouth. I am prejudged to be wrong before you even know what I am going to say. Any criticism, according to you, must be because I am racist or prejudiced or both. Hope and change is a powerful message. So far, we have seen nothing to back it up. That is because our ideas of hope and change are a far cry from President Obamas. People like you have elevated him to a height were us mere mortals are not allowed to engage in honest debate. You say we must be stupid if we cannot see how great he is. And stupid people are not allowed the honor of voicing their opinion. He has not been able to persuade Iran, Russia, North Korea, Syria or Saudi Arabia to either change their stance or help him realize his ‘dream’. How long should we wait? Until Iran has the bomb? Until Israel is attacked? Until America is attacked? Have you followed the Honduras fiasco? The way we have treated them is disgraceful. Obama has backed a leader that wants to be president for life, instead of backing their constitution. Shameful. President Obama’s hope and change has not yielded any tangible results from our enemies. Nor has anything happened to make us think it might in the future. I want my president to succeed as much as anybody. As far as I am concerned failure is not an option. For this reason, and this reason alone, I offer my constructive, carefully, thought out criticism. It is not meant to be destructive, but constructive. To be accused of anything else demeans me and you.
17. ONE MANS DREAM
LAWRENCE RAP ARTISTE ,   Safed Israel   (10.11.09)
Can be another mans Nightmare...beware.
18. Obamas Prize
Pearce ,   Golden Valley USA   (10.11.09)
The big mistake made electing OB was no work history, what had he done, 1 he spent 20 years in a church that preached hate for Israel and the U.S.A.. He didn,t spend any time in the senate, no legislation with any ideas for just peace in the world. never worked for a major company to understane economics of private interprise the backbone of a prosperos society. He has done nothing to solve the problems of our unemployment and bad economy. he thinks more tax frome the people that work is the answer, take from the producer and give to the none productive. So far he hase been a complete failure to say the least. He lives in a fanitsy world, and the country is waking up to the biggest joke that they have played on themselves. They ELECTED THE JOKER
19. WHAT?
kate ,   atlanta USA   (10.11.09)
I would imagine Israel is just geting nostalgic for jimmie carter. I was appalled when Carter ( a govenor from georgia) was elected but this man had not even served one term in the senate. People who act like sheep deserve leaders who act like wolves.

21. 12
Rosie   (10.12.09)
"o-BUM-a's award has tarnished the Nobel prize so badly that it is now worth nothing." It was tarnished long ago and has been worth nothing since Arafat received it.
22. A Weak America Is A Loved America
Dan ,   USA   (10.12.09)
Your first paragraph is spot on, the rest of your article meaningless. Obama received the prize because he represents someone who hates a strong America, just like the Danes and other E.U. countries do. In Obama they see a president bent on weakening America and so they love him.
23. Well, they like the idea of a "weak America", #22
Cameron ,   USA   (10.12.09)
But you & I know they'll scream like a young girl for the Yanks to come racing in when negotiations fail, and affairs grow too heavy. It is a given.
24. why didn't this woman win it then?
Danny   (10.12.09)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFGVXUS4tFQ She pretty much has made the same contribution as Obama did
25. Obama
Marilyn ,   USA   (10.12.09)
With Obama, I pretty much knew that he had won the presidency like a year ahead when he was asked which was more important-security or human rights? He perhaps also came into at least thoughts for the nobel at this time. People appreciate this about him. However his biggest failure is probably going to be his stance on abortion. It is something really important that he did not do the research on. I guess that I'm kind of hoping someday to have a president that is all around pro-life. Ron Paul would have made a good president. He is a regular American, unlike most of our presidents, but it's like nobody voted for him.
26. Orly - moron with a word processor

28. Agendas
Francisco Gomez ,   San Angelo USA   (11.13.09)
I suspect that there are many who would agree with the views expressed by this article's author. In the end, the world at large is just looking for some hope of a way to achieve world cohesiveness and cooperation in order for it to become more constructive and productive. The common man desires this. The problem is that the heirarchical structure of world governments creates agendas. Every leader has special interests that ultimately affect his or her leadership status. These are driven by that same leader's need for self perpetuation as a leader. This, of course, is in turn fueled by the conflict that comes from having to fend off pretenders to the leadership position. Agendas within agendas. We haven't even touched on greed, corruption, and other such factors that influence it all. So, yes, I would surmise that we the common people of the world think and dream much like the author of this article. But between us and those dreams sits a corrupt system of greedmongers, warmongers, and self-servers who do not care to see beyond their own agendas. Change the leaders and the corrupt system remains in place to corrupt them. Or perhaps, the corruption already exists within those who achieve positions of leadership, and the system only serves to expose it. While compromise may be achievable under these circumstances, and in light of these facts, true world peace is not. Governments are necessary because all Human Beings do not have the necessary self-control to do what is right at all times without oversight. There is our true agenda generator.
