1. Stop wasting time on this fake "people", give Kurds a turn!
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (10.12.09)
The so-called "Palestinians" do not act like a people yearning for independence because they are not a people, rather they are a collection of clans, gangs and tribes, with no common purpose. The world's energy should be refocused on creating an independent Kurdistan in North Iraq for the 25 million Kurds of that area, Turkey and Iran. They are more peaceful, more deserving and far more likely to become a responsible law-abiding world state. A PA state will emulate Iran and North Korea. No longer any reason to care what Turkey thinks about this long-overdue idea, and the right time is right now. Israel should take the lead in pressing Obama on this - resisting will only make him look more the phoiny and hypocrite that he is.
2. You are wrong
Salam ,   Palesinte   (10.12.09)
With all due respect, you are wrong, well not so much as being condescending. Tell me, what does "dramatic improvement in the freedom of movement" actually mean ? Does it mean we can go to other neigboring countries with our own vehicles ? Does it mean that we can go Nablus of Jenin, or Hebron with our own vehicles ? Not really, beacuse your poor soldiers, the ones you and you're fellow country men, abuse each day by forcing them into situations that can only leave them emotionally traumatized, and the rest of us Palestinians, are the only ones who are paying the price of this awful occupation The palestianain society will grow up, when you start seeing us as equals, and not a bunch of animals. Then, and only then, you'll find everybody on you side, with a few exceptions of course. (like the one's who smoke pot all day and live in the middle ages, the ones who are safely quarantined in gaza :))
3. Thank you
Sean ,   Montréal, Québec   (10.12.09)
It is so refreshing to see-so close to the Day of Atonement- an Israeli that is willing to show the courage to be self righteous and point out all the inherent faults of the people being imprisoned in the territories. All too often people waste time reflecting on what they might possibly be doing wrong in an attempt to resolve conflict. By separating; the pure from the impure, the civilized from the barbarians, the righteous from the criminal, the author simplifies everything enabling an expeditious solution where the good guys get to live happily ever after.
4. Israeli society is the IMMATURE ONE
Adam ,   Canada   (10.12.09)
If any society is immature...it is the Israeli SOCIETY which refuses to take on Israel's radical settlement enterprise. When Obama called for a halt to settlements for the sake of peace, Israel's radical settlers sprung into action and painted Obama as anti-Israel and the rest of the country backed them. Had a settlement halt been announced, Abbas' delay of the Goldstone report would have been much more palpable. Alas, that was not the case.
5. 2.3 wishful thinking
i ,   jerusalem   (10.12.09)
They will never grow up. You can not have a healthy society where a illiterate, pedophile, highwayman is lionized as a prophet nor where theft and sodomy are oh so taboo, but rampant. It is not just immaturity. It is more of a very loose grip on reality and not a whit of care for truth. These markers do not make for intellectuals or for leaders. Name one Arab head of state that is not a despot or thug. The only solution for these people is subjection to deprogramming or dhimmitude. They are dangerous to and a drain on any civilization. Look up Dr. Daniel Pipes on "sudden jihad syndrome. AND dear professor, they were not formed 90 years ago, but in 1964-67 by the Egyptian nephew of the dastardly Nazi Mufti as a tool of the Arab world for a proxy war against us. It still continues. Are you innumerate?
6. Projection
David ,   Boston   (10.12.09)
In classical psychology, projection is always seen as a defense mechanism that occurs when a person's own unacceptable or threatening feelings are repressed and then attributed to someone else.
7. To Salam
Oren ,   Or Yehuda   (10.12.09)
When are you going to realize that you are living on my land. Your only title to it is because your massacred the previous owners. The Jews did not sell you the land, your ancestors massacred Jews to steal out. Simply leave our land and there will be peace.
8. you cannot blame the palestinians for anything
palestinian   (10.13.09)
there land was stolen and they are living under the worst ever occupation . by the way , iam a palestinian and i almost beleived this crap , great lies and deception from the auther ...
9. an excellent article, spot on and sure to touch
jared ,   orlando   (10.13.09)
a nerver with elements always attemptin to claim victimization and never accepting an ounce of responsibility for history or for their current actions....once again the event referred to in the article bring to light yet another example of the arab palestinian never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity
10. 5 cont'd
i ,   jerusalem   (10.13.09)
re#8: I rest my case.
11. Jordan is Palestine
Jeffrey ,   Boston   (10.13.09)
and that's where the muslims on the west bank belong
12. Dear Salam (Palestinian):
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (10.13.09)
I, an Israeli, would really like to live in peace with you. More than that, I'd like to be able to visit your homes, to understand your mentality and culture, to communicate, to host you, and to laugh with you. All of this is impossible, however, under the circumstances, and you must admit this, because at any time you and your comrades may throw rocks at us, knife us and, worse yet, send your innumerable suicide bombers into our midsts. You must admit, I, and most Israelis, fear the damage you do and will do given half a chance. And because you and your people are crafty, dangerous and very deceiving, we cannot be friends and cannot enjoy one another's company. For me that's a genuine loss. If you and your people would finally recognize us and make the statement to the world that we, the Jewish people, are not occupiers but that we belong on our land in the mideast the same as yourselves, we could then both have a talking point and a basis for settling disagreements and conflicts. But you won't do that, Salam, and we, the Jewish people, will never go back and agree to living as "dhimmis" again on our own land. I hope I have stated my case and, frankly, I wish that one day we could greet one another, be hospitable with one another and witness our children and (in my case) our grandchildren actually playing together.
13. To #2 Salam
miron   (10.13.09)
Hi!Salam what is problem- you have one life .Why you spend your time for cry that you havet good life.Take your family and go to freedom like Siriy,Jordan, egypt ,usa, ext. What" s problem? Please stop lie.Do it.
14. The Tragedy of Arbia includes Fakestinians
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (10.14.09)
Like all other Arb societies they are dysfunctional and have immersed themselves in a culture of denial. They emphasize struggle, quash competition and reject alternate approaches to Peace or ways of thinking. As a result, their society cannot hand down positive achievements to future generations unless they overcome their compulsive need to blame others for their own failings. External and internal conflicts are the lifeblood of Fakestinian society and conflict for Fakestinians is not seen as a problem that requires a peaceful solution. Quite simply, this Arb society that does not believe in democracy enough to institute it, shuns female intellectual contributions, allows polygamy, insists on patriarchy, institutionalizes religious persecution, ignores family planning, expects endemic corruption, tolerates honor killings, sees no need to vote, and defines knowledge as mastery of the Quran...is deeply pathological.
