1. disgusting and wasteful
Ilana   (10.13.09)
such behaviour makes me disgusted. That money could have gone to needy causes and not to her personal luxury!! Middle class work hard and that is what is done with our tax money! Shame on her!
2. As if the Israeli Embassy
Dodie ,   Us   (10.13.09)
in Paris never considered security for her lodgings until she demanded it !! Give me a break. She must think us as dumb as she is corrupt and conniving
3. AND FOLK THINK OLMERT IS BAD
LAWRENCE RAP ARTISTE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (10.13.09)
This woman thinks she is the Queen.
4. "Champagne" Itzik
DT ,   TA Israel   (10.14.09)
She learned that from the UK Labour party.
5. Aw c'mon - this is peanuts!
JPS ,   Efrat   (10.14.09)
75k shekels? That's all? Bah, humbug. If anybody out there is really concerned about waste, then get a copy of the annual comptroller's report and do your homework. There is no shortage of corruption and waste on the million and ten million shekel level. That's what you should be concerned about, not Itzik's hotel bill. Ya wanna spend energy fighting this kind of stuff? Then do it on something with a few more zeroes on it.
6. Chavera Itzik came to tell Fr Jews about Chalutziut opportun
Alan ,   SA   (10.14.09)
in Israel. Also how to sing round campfire and dance the Hora -for this she needed something like Le Bristol, Ritz or George V
7. itzik
sas ,   israel   (10.14.09)
slowly all our members of the knesset will be sitiing in jail. the woman appears to be just as corrupt as the others. in addition she is also DUMB. let's get her out of the political scene. the faster the better.
8. Itzik- or Josphine
Barrieg ,   Zichron Yaakov   (10.14.09)
They are all the same, why not waste as much as you can while you can, its good for the ego.
9. it is israelis like her
(10.14.09)
the the turks decided ,we dont need you any more israel
10. Just chump change when compared to taking Air Force One with
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (10.14.09)
over 200 people to Norway to collect an undeserved medal. Correct term is crook.
11. Something does not ring true
Truthteller   (10.14.09)
It is not rocket science to figure out she wouldn't want to have meetings in her bedroom aroud her undies and makeup on the sink. So what happened? As the Israeli Speaker of the House, her security is very important. It appears other people were to blame for not having the intelligence to handle things carefully. If she had been assasinated by Hezballah, everyone would be complaining about why she wasn't in a better and ore secure hotel, right?
12. A sense of entitlement - at taxpayer expense
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (10.14.09)
More bad behavior from a Kadima "leader". What is it about politicians that leave them so free in spending other people's money? (And what's with that hair!) We in the US of course have recently seen worse. Our President's "night out" to see a show in New York cost US taxpayers in the range of one million dollars (Air Force One plus backup, multiple helicopters, Secret Service detail, and a lot more).
13. More fuel for the fire
Talula ,   Israel   (10.14.09)
It's not enough that there are Knesset members behind bars for stealing from the public - now there are thieves who openly steal without shame or conscience. So, what are we to do with this information? Stew in it? Hate the country and all that it stands for for allowing this to happen........AGAIN? She should be forced to pay back the difference - and the state needs to set a firm budget when these greedy self-opinionated assholes go abroad. Who does she think she is? She's a frecha in a suit, that's all.

Birdi ,   Israel   (10.14.09)
Every member of Knesset is assigned their own security guard or guards, Dalia Itzik did not need the hotel she stayed at in Paris to provide her with extra security. Surely there were cheaper suites for her to stay in at the hotel in question. 11.000.sheqels per night is a tad too high.
15. Our immodest leaders
philip ,   afula   (10.14.09)
Our leaders ,by and large have a long history of immodest behaviour especially when abroard. Abba Eban was a good example ,he always spent big, very big on his foreign trips. His expenses infuriated the the bean counters of his time. Olmert,we all know about and Bibi with or without his baggage is not exactly modesty personified. Their are plenty of other examples ....the big egos of leaders from small countries, third world countries actually.
16. dalia itzhak's costly
debbie ,   israel   (10.14.09)
Just sickening. No wonder Israelis pay the world's highest taxes. The thought that these politicians who are supposed to work for the people and are paid their salaries with our hard earned taxes, can live it up at our expense. When plenty of Israeli children go without the basic necessities, like food and school supplies. She should be made to pay back every penny. There should be a thorough investigation of any civil servant travelling to Paris, London, etc. and for exactly what reason.
17. Someone purposely screwed up . . .
vered ,   israel   (10.14.09)
to make Dalia Yitzik look bad. She cannot stay where the security is not okay. Someone either stupidly or deliberately put her in hotels where it was not.
18. What a shame!!!
Ariel ,   Gedera, Israel   (10.14.09)
Mrs. Itzik could easily arrange for meeting her guests in one of numerous meeting facilities at the hotel while staying in a more modest room. Security could also be adequately addressed. The problem is much more general -in many cases, civil servants in Israel heavily abuse their authority in many ways. Many of them see nothing wrong with it but they're careful enough to never go public about it. It's public's or comptroller's vigilance that makes these things surface. It's about time public gets seriously educated on civil service responsibility. Examples abound - just look at Scandinavia.
19. Disgusting
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (10.14.09)
If she works, garnish her salary until the amount is repaid in full. If she doesn't work, attach her bank accounts to the extent of the amount she stole from the public trust. If she doesn't have sufficient funds, throw her in prison for violating the trust placed in her by the Israeli electorate and for defrauding the taxpaying public. Security detail, my eye. Whatever happened to the concept of adjoining rooms with a common interior door? Easily available at many hotels in Paris for a fraction of the cost. Israel should investigate to make sure that none of this money was spent at Dolce & Gabana or Louis Vuitton. That would entail additional criminal charges for theft.
20. She is second on kadima's list behind livni
dan ,   haifa israel   (10.14.09)
And yet the public voted for them to lead israel. Unreal and it was a tragic mistake.
21. This article leaves out how livni and kadima love her
jeff ,   ashkelon israel   (10.14.09)
Livni would walk out with her and not mofaz during the election. Livni made her number two on the list. She is the face of kadima with livni and if israel puts kadima back in power she will be the knesset speaker and future pm behind livni.
22. Disgusted
Israeli   (10.14.09)
Disgusted and sickened. I have to work hard and pay high taxes to let her have the vacation that I myself cannot afford?
23. # 19
Birdi ,   Israel   (10.14.09)
Sarah firstly I agree 100% with your post. Secondly I suggest you should be in politics & be our next Prime Minister as I would vote for you.
24. Sarah , & alikes . You would do the same if you could
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (10.14.09)
So don't blame her .
