I think the world has forgotten history. Jerusalem was supposed to be an international city. ( in 1948) Israel reluctantly agreed and Jordan grabbed control. The city was basically ignored--a backwater. The Temple Mount wasn't that important to the Muslims. After all, it was in their control and that was sufficient. In 1967 Jordan was asked to please stay out of the war. However, Abdullah's father decided it was in his interest to attack. Much to his surprise Israel won and Jerusalem was now in Jewish hands. For the first time members of all 3 major religions could go and visit their holy sites. ( Muslims only received limited restrictions AFTER they started using the height advantage of the Temple Mount as a launching ground for terrorist attacks!) . Now, all of a sudden Jerusalem and the Temple Mount are important. Only when they are in Jewish hands are these sites important. Abdullah can warn all he wants. The city would still be under his control had Daddy not gotten greedy!

When Jordan occupied East Jerusalem in 1948, it essentially destroyed the Jewish Quarter. Medieval synagogues were destroyed and Jewish tombstones were pulled up. Thus, I find it hypocritical for King Abd'ullah to set himself up as a protector of Holy Places.

Jerusalem is not holy to Muslims. In fact, Jerusalem is not mentioned anywhere in the Koran. Not even once. However, Jerusalem is mentioned hundreds of times in the Old Testament (Jewish Bible). Muslims turn their back to Jerusalem while praying but Jews pray in the direction of Jerusalem while praying. Moreover, the Koran states that the Land of Israel was completely Jewish. Surah 5, Verse 20 & 21- "Moses said to his people: O my people! Remember the bounty of God upon you when He bestowed prophets upon you, and made you kings and gave you that which had not been given to anyone before you amongst the nations. O my people! Israel should change in regards to Jerusalem is to provide more freedom for the Jews to worship and enjoy their eternal capital and the city central to Judaism. Tighter security on hostile arab population and more Jewish building in ALL of Jerusalem. Disatisfied arabs should visit and stay in their holy cities of Mecca and Medina. The Muslims have no ties to the Holy City. They have forged and concocted any evidence that says otherwise. If they can deny the ample existence of the previous Jewish Temples, and the holocaust, then we can just as easily dismiss their claims of any "proof" that they are less than a plague, and a scourge on the Earth. They started a war in "67, and got their tails kicked. Now they aren't happy with the loser's cost. Someone should point out to the Little King that Jerusalem has always been the Capital of the Jewish People. Only since Isreal recatured east Jersualem and made Jerusalem as united city has there been freedom of worship to tto all three religions. The true Capital of the Palestinians is Amman but, but despite the fact the the Little King is married to a Palestinian and that 80% of Jodanians are palestinians the Little King and his clan don't want the Palestinians in Jordan.
