Nora Tel Aviv   (10.21.09)
El Baradei, what do you think happened to Ahmadinejad`s strategy ? Do you really believe that a kilo here and a kilo there of low grade uranium is all Iran has or is capable of having ? When will you go eat your hat ?(Sorry, I mean your Nobel). You are less than a mouse for that cat called Ahmadinejad.
2. Good for us..bad for them
Arash ,   Tehran-Iran   (10.21.09)
This is what you get when you play chess, and your opponent tends to play American football.
3. Arash, playing chess will lead you nowhere
Nora Tel Aviv   (10.21.09)
True, Iran is playing chess and the US American football. Being clever is not enough. History is full of clever dictators causing the severest of horrors to their people. Ahmadinejad will enter the history books of Iran as a clever but not sane dictator.
4. Here are the 2 major questions, as they should be
International Reader   (10.21.09)
The major question in this respect is the following: Is Isrel willing to accept comprehensive UN monitoring nationwide, including unannounced inspections? Another issue that remains shrouded in fog is whether Israel will finally provide its response to evidence possessed by the IAEA that it is developing nuclear weapons?

Answer 1: whether Israel does or does not accept UN monitoring of Iran is not the issue. The US, EU, Russia and China are negotiating with Iran, not Israel. Answer 2: Israel is under no obligation under the NPT. Like India and Pakistan, it chose not to sign the treaty. Unlike India and Pakistan it has not tested or announced itself as a nuclear state. If Israel is a nuclear power, then it is an interesting case study in self-restraint since it is the only nuclear power that has been attacked with conventional armies at multiple borders but has chosen to fight with conventional means only. The US, the only other nuclear power involved in a major conventional war made a different decision in 1945 (even though it was assured a victory by that time.)
6. #4 More distraction games?
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (10.22.09)
Did Israel sign the NPT? Did Israel break the NPT time and time again? Did Israel state that the "removal" "erasure" of another sovereign nation is one of its goals? No to all three. If it has nuclear weapons, Israel doesn't owe the IAEA anything regarding them - Israel never signed away its right to independently develop nuclear technology of any kind in exchange for civilian nuclear technology. Israel never broke said agreement in secret and played spy games with the international monitoring teams. Iran did all that and more, and its current unstable leadership can't be trusted with weapons of mass destruction. Do note the difference.
7. shouldn't israel accept these nuclear restrictions as well??
american observer ,   dc   (10.22.09)
how could such ridiculous nuclear restrictions be imposed on iran and not on israel too?? this double standard must be broken for the sake of world peace.
8. Iran wins you lost, you are losing in all fronts that is all
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (10.22.09)
Trouble is raining on Israel but still many columnists try to show picture pink. Even a few days ago, Israel hailed and saluted hat of his emperor Barak Obama in a video message from him, as if he came to Israel and supported Israeli authorities.
9. #7 american observer - it's ALL about the NPT
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (10.22.09)
"shouldn't israel accept these nuclear restrictions as well??" Israel is NOT a signatory of the NPT. However Iran is and thus it is REQUIRED to ADHERE to the NPT standards and regulations. Which it has NOT compiled FULLY. "this double standard" It is STRANGE how you BELIEVE the MYTH of "double standard" when there is such a MAJOR difference betweem Israel and Iran as far as the NPT and nukes are concerned.
10. #8 What does Iran win?
Cynthia ,   USA   (10.22.09)
30+% unemployment, international isolation, domestic terror, growing opposition, toxic levels of air pollution, gas rationing to Iranians, no human rights, public executions and they say Ahmadinejad is afraid to appear in public. The regime's nuclear aspirations are destroying Iran.
11. CYNTHIA,ADD TO YOUR LIST..........#10
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (10.22.09)
Also the fact that Iran will definitely excercise the option of seeing whether changing the course of action from civil use of Nuclear technology to military is neccessary or not.You have listed too many things..................add this as well, yes.
12. #11 Add to the list
Cynthia ,   USA   (10.23.09)
The spread of swine flu throughout Iran and decline in Iran's pistachio exports due to severe weather conditions that damaged crops and competition from California growers taking over the market. Mahmood, I see you could not answer my question.
