1. Garbage!
Andrew ,   Oslo, Norway   (10.23.09)
Wow, you Israelis really live in a different world! Norway is no friend of Iran, but we're not an enemy either. While we don't like their extreme views, we realize the people of Iran might not want to kill or die. The Pars project is just a business venture for one company! A Norwegian company that just happens to be publically listed in New York and Oslo! That does not make Norway as a nation dependent on it! Norway does NOT need ANY oil income from other countries, we have OUR own, more than enough! Statoil is involved in projects all over the world, Mr. Silverman is just plain crazy trying to "create" ties where there are none!
2. Obama, Europe can have him.
David Powell ,   Everett. Wa. DPRSSA   (10.23.09)
We are slideing into socialism with lightning speed under Obama. We are quickly becoming Democratic Peoples Republic of Socialist States of America.
3. Excellent analysis
Marcella   (10.23.09)
Europe and the US have never let moral and ethical principles get in the way of profitable business. By the way, I would just like to add another piece to the Iran puzzle. National Public Radio NPR reported that much of Iran's wealth and business is now in the hands of the Revolutionary Guard. "The Revolutionary Guard has already worked its way into virtually all aspects of Iran's economy, from banks to manufacturing to the oil sector, and it is believed to have a hand in the country's black market. "The Revolutionary Guard was created after the 1979 Islamic Revolution as an ideological bulwark to defend Iran's clerical rule. "The 120,000-strong elite force controls Iran's missile program and has its own ground, naval and air units." http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=113699888
4. Why is Israel afraid of Obama and Peace?
Me   (10.23.09)
Oy oy oy...Obama does not agree with new settlements? Oy Oy Obama gives Netanayhu a hard time... Get over yourself and get out of your paranoia.
5. 'Norway and Europe'?
European   (10.23.09)
As in 'Lebanon and the Middle East'? As far as I know, Norway has always been part of Europe. If you mean the European Union instead of Europe, say so. They're not the same thing. 'Human rights violations committed in Iran receive little response from European countries.' I'm sorry but you have quite obviously no idea what you're talking about. It's a HUGE topic here. There was little else in the newspapers during the Iranian elections. Unlike the US, European leaders condemned the regime almost immediately. Europe is pretty outspoken about the Iranian human rights situation. Although that doesn't seem to make it in the Israeli media, so it doesn't exist, right?
6. Ah, the Europeans have always been a 2-faced Janus
Cameron ,   USA   (10.23.09)
Who stands higher on the mountainside striking a self-righteous stance, while grubbing after profits & benefits with a more craven smile? Reminds me of our own history when the Europeans were forever sneering, lecturing, and wagging the finger at the Yanks for still practicing slavery, yet grabbed with a delighted smile at every cotton bale that crossed the Atlantic to feed their textile mills, and were endlessly howling for yet more cotton production. Europe really has turned into a bit of a weak, self-serving joke.
7. Same European hypocrites were quick to criticise Israel...
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (10.23.09)
...for doing business with South Africa in the 1980s. However when it suits their economic interests, they have no problem at all doing business with Iran, a far greater oppressor and menace to the world.
8. What loadof garbage is this ?? What kind of stupid analyisis
is this ???   (10.23.09)
9. I noticed racists claim things
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (10.23.09)
The Arabs accuse us of apartheid, when we have no apartheid laws and they do. The goyim accuse us of being money grubbers, yet they are the ones that will do anything for a Euro. Bunch of racists in Europe.
10. Israel afraid of peace?
paul kersey ,   Kufrland, Earth   (10.24.09)
To Whom it may concern, Israel is pro-peace, not pro a-peacement. Has not every attempt to give parts of Israel away for a-peacement, been meet with infitada (purposely misspelled)? By the way, afraid of peace, seems to be inappropriate to the topic of this article. Peace to all freedom loving people.
11. #2 David Powell
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (10.24.09)
You asked for him, you got him. We have our own socialists.

Ron B. ,   Lod   (10.24.09)
What is common to the USA and Europe? Cowardice and lack of self respect. It is not new, that Islamists pursue their campaign of intimidation against the West, but what does seem surprisingly new, compared with the legendary fighting spirit of the British, is the seeming capitulation of European capitals to their tormentors, and the baffling incomprehension they exhibit of the Islamist phenomenon which has repeatedly declared itself so clearly inimical to them. 14. Of course the eurabians love b.o.
jason white ,   afula,israel   (10.24.09)
b.o. is bad for both the U.S. and Israel, so they love him. b.o. will make the U.S. as weak as the eurabian union and unable to fight his moslim bros.
15. PEACE
Pearce ,   USA   (10.24.09)
YO YO. YO. who cares what Obuma thinks ,, I thinks he stinks
16. Obama cow tows to the Muslims.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (10.24.09)
The European investors love him for it. Hug a terrorist state....gain Europes fondest handshake. Oil Whores. And the left was bitching about Bush being in bed with big oil. Obama and Europe seem to have won that title hands down.
17. Obama is a typical european president not US one
zionist forever   (10.25.09)
There is an element of business involved I am sure but I think this is much more about the fact he is more European in his policies than American and I dont just mean Bush. He is a socialist who believes in the state having a much bigger role to play in society. Traditionally American policy is state has minimal role whilst Obama wants to get involved in everything. He is not a white male. I don't know of any European countries that have had a black president but they have women. America now has an ethnic minority president which they like the idea of. He believes that there shouldn't be one law for America and another to the rest of the world which has always been traditional Ameriican attitude. He wants to go around making peace with everybody, negotiate with terrorists rather than fight terror. The Europeans were never happy with the idea of a war on terror but after 9/11 any government that didn't want to fight terror would have looked bad. There is never any need for war any conflict can be solved through diplomacy. Global nuclear disarmament Israel is the source of all evils. Palestinians are inocent and never do anything wrong, even Hamas are just misunderstood the solution is to go after Israel. These are the sort of things they like to hear in Europe, they don't like the traditional American attitudes and Bush for them was the last straw. Obama is a long lost lover they have been waiting for the return of and so they want to do everything to make him happy.
18. To #14 Right on!
Jeffrey ,   Boston   (10.26.09)
You got it pegged. Europe love BHO because he is tearing down the US and that is good for Europe. Economics has become a zero sum game. What's bad for US is good for Europe. They love him and cheer him on.
19. #6 Thank you
kathy ,   orlando, USA   (10.26.09)
Your post summarizes the elitist europhile closet racists in our country. As always, the American left loves diversity but can't wait to start the ethnic cleansing.
