1. G-D Bless Illeana Ross-Lehtinen
Terrific ,   zion   (10.24.09)
Illeana Ross-Lehtinen is the best friend that Israel could ever have. it is no surpise that Jewish Congressmen would sponosr this legislation but Ross Lehtinen is catholic. She is also a loyal and tireless supporter of israel, Her family lived in communist Cuba and knows what Israel faces everyday. She has never let us down in her support of Israel. She should be nominated as a Rightous Gentile, she represents my district and I could not be more proud of her efforts. G-D bless you Illeana, you are terrific. Thank you. Now lets hope obama doesn't veto this, that guy can't be trusted.
2. Goldstone and the people who sent him on his mission have...
The Canadian Plumber   (10.24.09)
...produced a very deep cesspool with their "findings" and "reports" and instead of stepping out of it before it is too late, for them..., they continue to empty themselves into the pool with their arguments, only to sink lower and lower into their extracts... Goldstone, get out of it before it is too late. This is a friendly advise coming from a plumber specializing in cesspools!

YES! And about bleeping time!
4. So Angry.....
Danielle ,   centre   (10.24.09)
I can not understand how that bastard man can sleep at night.
5. Is this really a surprise to anyone??
american observer ,   dc   (10.24.09)
The entire world knows very well that the U.S. Congress has become Israeli-occupied territory, just like Palestine. The extreme zionist views of the US Congress make Netanyahu and Leiberman look like doves and peacemakers. Shame on the puppet US Congressmen!
6. @ #4 Danielle
Joel Schaffer ,   Belleair Bluffs, FL   (10.25.09)
Danielle, He sleeps nice a cozy with a blanket made of Arab & Muslim currency and filled with crude oil, grasping an autographed picture of Yasser Arafat taped over the face of his Micky Mouse doll. Arafat was huge in South Africa, he was once video taped there giving a lecture about how it is OK to make agreements with infidels....[you know Americans & Israelis] as long as he was lying and not going to honor the agreement after the fact. That the Koran says it is ok to do this. He also enjoys a bed time snack of hamas made from garbanzos & tahini...and a dash of explosives...keeps him regular
7. Unbelievable.. a step too far
petermo@trackwork.co ,   New Zealand   (10.25.09)
The gloves are off. The world will react to this move by congress and so will the American people. Congress as we know it is finished.
8. @ #5 american observer
Joel Schaffer ,   Belleair Bluffs, FL   (10.25.09)
If you were observing anything at all in the congress or America as a whole you would have observed the exact opposite. Since Obama took office it has been anti-Israel, anti- Jewish & pro-Palestinian / pro-Muslim 24-7....25-8 even. I doubt you are even in DC, if you are in the US you are in Chicago or Berkly Don't you have an explosive belt to strap on or something???? It is Saturday night....
9. When it comes to Israel, facts matter not to the US congress
George ,   Vancouver, Canada   (10.25.09)
The bill claims the Goldstone report "completely ignores 'thousands of rocket attacks on Israel'". Ackerman and Barton obviously have not read the report. Para 103 "Palestinian armed groups have launched about 8000 rockets and mortars into southern Israel since 2001..." Para 108: "These acts would constitute war crimes and may amount to crimes against humanity." What planet are these people on? Goldstone damns both sides. P.S. - it is not a defense against an allegation of war crimes to say the other side also committed war crimes. Israel's attempts to avoid taking responsibility are reprehensible and simply prove their guilt (otherwise why try to run and hide)?
10. What about the hummus?
Harry Stengler ,   Hoboken, NJ   (10.25.09)
Does the report get into who has the best hummus? I've had the Lebanese (not in Lebanon, but in the USA) and it's often very dry. The hummus you get in Israel from little delis can be really good, fresh, with lemony overtones. Perhaps we can agree that the Phoenicians invented hummus, and the Israelis improved upon it? Or, no, that would probably prove too controversial....
11. Goldstone is a disgrace
Steve   (10.25.09)
Richard Goldstone should be ashamed of himself, and the US Congress members have acted admirably and with integrity in opposing Goldstone's 'report.' Goldstone ignored human rights abuses by Hamas and Islamic Jihad, he failed to address their attacks on civilians, and did not spend nearly enough time on the issue of Gilad Shalit's illegal captivity. I am ashamed that a fellow Jew would do this to his own people.
12. #5 To use your logic Islam occupies UN/world then
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (10.25.09)
someone needs to stand up to them taking over the world and world's institutions and good for US Senate
13. #5 Sorry many around the world disagree with Goldstone
Taipan ,   Australia   (10.25.09)
Not fair to make your comment in light of the the very thin and wobbly report that Goldstone has produced. Of course there's plenty who agree with you - but remember brother - there's a mountain of support for Israel. We completely disagree with you and charge that your mentality sides with terrorists. We still want to know why the UN and everyone else was happy to let Israel be attacked for years with 8000 rockets? And yet decides to make a big deal to blame one side for "atrocities" when a war erupts? And also why Goldstone does not accuse Hamas directly of anything , but blaming any abuses on 'unnamed, unidentified forces"...Just WHY is that?? THAT IS NOT FAIR. IT IS BIAS. If this "report" is OK with you - then , sorry - you will have a hard time convincing anyone reasonable otherwise. Its a witch hunt.
14. Our bought and paid for Congress
Truthseeker ,   USA   (10.25.09)
I have no doubt that this bill will pass overwhelmingly with only a few courageous members of Congress voicing opposition. Our Congress has long been owned by the Israeli Lobby and members of Congress who value their jobs know that to oppose the will of AIPAC and the rest of the Lobby is at their peril. Some years ago a former member of the House who had the guts to speak out against Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon told me that after his speech many members of Congress approached him and said that they wished they had his courage but they did not want to lose their seat and they knew that the Lobby had the clout to defeat them. Is this the kind of democracy we want? Do we want a Congress that is little more than a Parliament of Whores? Whether it is about israel or about health care we have a corrupt Congress that looks out for itself. No wonder the ratings for Congress among Americans is so low. They don't deserve better.
15. Nice to know
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (10.25.09)
... that while Obama and Clinton have toed the Islamofascist party line, the United States Congress has not. When the Congress gets through slapping Obama and Clinton on this, perhaps they might look into Obama's clear violations of United States law by even APPROACHING state sponsors of terror such as Iran and Syria. Slap that fool president and his chief henchwoman down to size, Congress! We're counting on you to do the right thing.
16. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (10.25.09)
Well, Obama is most certainly not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but not even he would dare alienate the Jewish constituency that got him elected. Which is not to say that he might not. He's a one-term president (if he's not impeached before the conclusion of his term) and he knows it. His destiny is not grand geopolitical interference. He's nothing but a neighborhood rabble-rouser. Hell, I wouldn't want to go back to that, either. Sadly, Obama isn't qualified for much more.
17. Everyone attacked Goldstone, but no one attacked the report.
palestinian ,   ramallah   (10.25.09)
That tells you something when Goldstone himself is personally attacked and vilified, yet none of his report was attacked or even questioned. Israel must fight the case in court alone, not in the media or in the UN...
18. Obam will not back down. GOLDSTONE REPORT LEGIT.
(10.25.09)
watch. USA knows the rpoblem that is usrael and the abuse aginst Palestine. we KNOW. OBAMA IS STRONG. he will ignore the AIPAC hustlers. watch.
19. American's want answers to Goldman, Congress looks biased
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (10.25.09)
I believe Israel was right to go into Gaza to stop rocket attacks but they achieve that in the first week, the last 2 weeks was mainly to punish Gaza and weaken Hamas' support. After reading Goldstone, Israel reports and newpapers, the question is want is legal and who enforces the rules. IDF decided that any orders it gave were legal and Goldstone choose anything that was questable should be decided by a court of law. In some ways both sides are wrong but Israel can't take any changes with UN or ICC.
20. #6Joel-Arafat spoke in Jo'burg Mosque (Mayfair) in about '94
Alan ,   SA   (10.25.09)
He told the believers in the JOHANNESBURG MOSQUE the story of how Mohammed double crossed the tribe that lived round( Medina I think) there. He had negociated a peace treaty-A HUDNA- with those people .Im not sure but I think they were Jewish . As soon as he was stronger he double crossed them and took out the whole tribe ....Murdered the lot of them . Not very nice!! HE GAVE THIS EXAMPLE TO THE MAYFAIR MOSQUE WORSHIPERS AND SAID THATS HOW HE AIMED TO DEFEAT AND DESTROY ISRAEL

22. The entire Goldstone report is invalid.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (10.25.09)
The entire Goldstone report is invalid and morally tainted. The evidence, as Goldstone stated, was based almost entirely on UNVERIFIABLE PALESTINIAN CLAIMS and publications from politicized pro-Palestinian NGOs – the report cites B'tselem and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights each more than 70 times, Al-Haq allegations get more 30 mentions, and there are many more NGO co-authors. The methodology used in the 36 incidents examined by the committee will give critics of the report and the commission the strongest basis for rejecting its conclusions. 23. RICHARD GOLDSTONE
Sussy   (10.25.09)
YOU ARE DESPICABLE, SHAME ON YOU!!
24. Goldstone
Spencer ,   Israel   (10.25.09)
The more this idiot opens his mouth the further in he puts his foot! The whole world knows exactly what kind of man Goldstone is....a liar....a vehemantly anti Israel activist...one who would and apparently has sold his soul to the devil....and he calls himself Jewish. He should be banned from every Jewish congregation. Let him go and live in one of the anti Israel arab states. There he will be amongst his own kind and feel at home.
25. Have any of you...
Claire ,   Australia   (10.25.09)
actually read the report? It mentions the actions of both sides focusing on this war in particular because that's what it was commissioned for. In a situation where civilian casualties were 100:1 of course Israel is going to cop more flack than Hamas or Palestinians. The idea that this report is biased is laughable - the only bias I see is that of the media in what they've reported on the subject. Feel free to knock down my argument, your ignorance is amusing.
26. to #17 it was Goldstone who adressed
ghostq   (10.25.09)
the media, he play with fire in the most unprofetional way he will get burn.

28. To: No. 9
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (10.25.09)
Really? Where in the Geneva meeting minutes was there even a mention of Hamas' crimes against humanity? Right. It WAS NOT mentioned. All of the bile was reserved for Israel, who did nothing but retaliate for eight years of daily missile barrages. That is why the United States Congress had to step up to the plate. Out of curiosity, George -- how do 400 civilian deaths amount to a war crime to you? Particularly in light of the fact that the brave and glorious Hamas "fighters" hid behind women and children? For pity's sake, how many civilians died in Kosovo, or Afghanistan, or Iraq? Tens of thousands, George. Tens of thousands. Is THAT not a war crime? Or does your abject hatred of Israel and Jews blind you to the facts?
29. To: No. 14
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (10.25.09)
Eat your heart out, Truthseeker. Parliament of Whores? Are you off your meds again? Tsk, tsk.
30. To: No. 25
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (10.25.09)
Claire, it isn't so much the Goldstone Report that has caused the angry reaction in the U.S. Congress as it is the blatant omission of Hamas crimes in the Geneva Resolutions. Can I ask you a question? Were the white settlers that came to Australia and massacred the aboriginal people by the MILLIONS guilty of war crimes? Of course they were! Did they steal aboriginal land? Of course they did! Are you, as an Australian, prepared to redress the wrongs, which took far more lives than anything Israel did to stop eight years of daily missile attacks from Gaza? Don't ever remember reading anything about aboriginal Australians firing missiles at white European settlers. You live in a glass house, darling. Don't throw stones.
