1. BITING THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (10.25.09)
During the Gush Katif pogrom it became very clear that theYesha council members will not bite the hand that feeds them. Wallerstein and co get paid by the ministry of interior and will not jeopardize their paycheck and very comfortable pension plans. The same situation we have here with the Gush Etzion council, which takes orders from the government, mostly going against our interests. These people are just regular politicians talking out of both sides of their mouths, just to secure their well paid jobs. The political system here is based on the old Communist Russian party structure, that has no personal accountability for the people you vote for. One gets in positions of power only when one is in line with the party's committee controlled doctrine. That is why on every level of government one sees very mediocre leaders, who lack insight, honesty and vision. As long as we have this media controlled dictatorship based on the rule of a minority, the Wallersteins of the system will keep on floating up like in any sewer. The fact that the IDF is used to destroy the communities Wallerstein is supposed to represent, is of no consequence to him.
2. Time for unelected Yesha Council to disband
JPS ,   Efrat   (10.25.09)
There is nothing more offensive to residents of Judea and Samaria than the Yesha Council - the undemocratic self-appointed bunch of nitwits who claim to represent us. They do a lousy job, have pissed away tens of millions of dollars, and are accountable to nobody but themselves. It's time for this irresponsible group of self-acclaimed "representatives" to put up or shut up. They should immediately suspend their operations, create bylaws and a constitution that set up direct elections of council members. Then they must hold elections. Having a transparent budget will, of course, be one of the democratic necessities of the new council, which can call itself the Yesh Council if it still wants to isolate us as not being part of the entire nation of Israel.
3. Bravery
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (10.25.09)
There is one thing Ehud Barak is afraid of, and it's to confront somebody who knows what he wants and is ready to fight for it. Pinchas Wallerstein is exactly the contrary of that, he always try to manage things in a "political" way and has been kicked out time after time (see expulsion of Gush Katif, see Peace House, see any time they made mockery of him) Tzahal is sacred, but it's not this soldiers who started using Tzahal as a political tool.
4. Democracy
Baruch ,   Israel   (10.25.09)
I too am against the expulsion of Jews from their homes. But if we let every soldier hold up a sign, then those that think that we are occupying the West Bank will hold up signs against what they call "the occupation". I think that by letting soldiers hold up signs, we are opening up a "Pandora's box". This is dangerous.
5. I agree with the rabbis
Steve   (10.25.09)
I agree with Rabbi Elyakim Levanon and Rabbi Dov Wolpe. Using the military (the IDF) to forcibly expel Jews from their homes is destructive of the morale and the moral fibre of the military. Jews should not expel Jews in the first place. Using the military is dishonorable.
