I'm not voicing my opinion here on whether or not I think he's guilty or innocent. That is irrelevant. The point that I'm trying to make now is that the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" is not only dead, but the exact opposite of this is true. No matter what the outcome of the trial is, the Israeli public already "knows" (through the irresponsible non-objectiveness of the press) that he's the "abusive" and "self proclaimed" rabbi. Even if he is proven, by the letter of the law and without a fraction of a doubt, innocent, it won't make any difference. The press (largely this site, among others) has already pronounced his verdict. What happened to morality? What happened to a fair and just trial? What happened to our "Fair press"?

This is not a matter of innocent until proven guilty. He's getting a trial and then if found guilty will be punished, if not will be let go. However it is like there is a little of something else going on. In a strict form, it seems like a person is not supposed to be talked about, or on trial or punished no matter what. The point was not to defend him, or to (further) incriminate him. it was to point out the injustices of our own democratic-based justice system!
