1. Nuts and Fruitcakes :-)
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (10.31.09)
Most of us know that California is full of all sorts of flakes and nuts hahaha, but some of the latter are pistachios. Actually, California is the 2nd. largest producer of pistachios in the world. Not all the nuts I know are from California - after all, Georgia is world-famous for Claxton fruitcakes - but all my pistachios are from California. I can tell, it's going to be one of those days :-)
2. Two points
Hana ,   Jerusalem   (10.31.09)
1 - Iranian pistachios are delicious and no other producer can compete with them 2 - Israeli politicians, labeling anti-Israeli boycotts "antisemitism", suddenly call for boycott of anothers country product. Funny nation indeed...
3. DO NOT import anything from Turkey!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (10.31.09)
Turkey is an enemy state conspiring with the lunatic regime in Iran! What is more import, Israels survival or pistachio nuts? You cannot eat nuts after being nuked!
4. Pistachio nuts
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (10.31.09)
What, have you no backbone ? Why can't we live without pistachios. Think about it - Israelis have become so spoiled as of late. I am afraid (to put it out of proportion) that this "Roman Empire" will also fall from the evil of greed and need for more and more.
5. boycott those nutty bastards
gal1 ,   israel   (10.31.09)
6. import them from California
Judi ,   Israel   (10.31.09)
We should just import the pistachio nuts from California. Surveys have shown that no one really cares anything about the nuts, except that they are easy to open.
7. Bring in American pistachios!
Chaya ,   Bat Yam   (10.31.09)
8. The aptly named "Bozo"
Idan ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (10.31.09)
Bozo, get a real job. I pay enough taxes and deal with enough Knesset intrusiveness without your additional meddling in my life (and kitchen). I love Iranian pistachios, and our tiny Israeli market is inconsequential for Iran-a boycott hurts us more than them. You clown.
9. crude oil products also help iran
Potash Katiftof ,   tel aviv, israel   (10.31.09)
If that is the case, they should also put a steep levy on fuel and plastic products, since they come from oil which iran makes alot of.
10. Import from California=Best Idea!
Cynthia ,   USA   (10.31.09)
Match made in heaven. I was surprised to learn Israel is the largest per capita consumer of pistachio nuts in the world. At the same time, California has exceeded Iran in export sales throughout the world. Iran suffered its worst pistachio crop in 2008 due to frost. Their pistachios are also known to carry unsafe levels of Aflatoxin, a cancer causing fungus found in pistachio nuts. California growers in the San Joaquin Valley have worked with UC Davis to perfect the crop and eliminate this problem. Leave the nuts in Iran-Turkey and buy from California. That goes for Europe, Asia, Africa and So. America as well.
11. Editor?
i ,   jerusalem   (10.31.09)
The public already knows quite well that nuts are produced in Iran. One of the finer ones is always on the rant and the press follows his every spouting.
12. Why hurt the Iranian people? Unlike Arabs, Iranians don't
Adam ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.01.09)

M.Gerald Fried ,   Skokie Il   (01.03.13)
The nuts coming from Turkey, via Iran are far superior to California nuts. It's not even contest. California nuts have no taste.
