1. It is so obvious, they are not interested in peace, they are
Barrie ,   Formerly South Afric   (11.04.09)
interested in annihilating the Jewish state of Israel and the UN is attempting to prevent the Jews from protecting themselves, their children, their UN member state from those eager to wipe it off the face of earth. Wake up world. The time is akin to 1938-39. We don't want to reach a period similar to 1941-1945 Europe.....
2. It seems that ....
Marco ,   Spain   (11.04.09)
with the Israeli economy in shambles, piracy seems to be the only way out. If Somali pirates can get millions for one lousy ship, why cant the IDF do the same?
3. Israeli economy is doing OK...2.3% growth
Raul ,   Madrid, Spain   (11.04.09)
In the 3rd quarter. Things could change of course, maybe there will be a downturn, but it's doing a lot better than lets say oh I don't know...Spain.
4. #2 - You're a funny guy
(11.04.09)
All anti-semites are extremely funny people, especially Spanish and British ones. We should support the Basques and help Argentina take their Falklands back.
5. Timing
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (11.04.09)
Not known for being particularly intelligent, the leadership of the Islamic Republic is ratcheting up the stakes in a game in which they have no hope of prevailing. Perhaps, having examined their bleak condition and their even more bleak future, the mullahs in charge have decided to commit national suicide. A country of shaheed. There is no other explanation -- they cannot run and they cannot hide. This is the fifth or sixth Israeli interdiction of arms shipments intended for Iran's terrorist proxies. Well, the end is in sight. Thankfully. Thirty years of the Islamic Republic have been more than enough. Let's roll!

are you serious??? are you joking??? THE ISRAELI ECONOMY IS IN SHAMBLES????? ARE YOU FROM THIS PLANET???? israel suffered no recession AT ALL during the economic crash. none at all. the country's economy is flourishing and its exports have shown 17% increase in the last quarter. the shekel is stronger than the dollar and israel is a world power in tech exports and medical pharmaceutical technology and medicine. israel, not having oil or natural resources, relies on its brain power from its universities which three of them are the leading academic institutions in the world. israel's economy is fantastic and booming day by day, something no one can claim in all the arab world or iran. israeli unemployment figures are 3.7% while the usa is almost 10%. ngp is exceptional and is 300% greater than all arab countries combines in the middle east. where do you get your information from??? let me guess. mein kapf or the elders of zion perhaps? i heard that these are the books arabs and muslims consider as best sellers. no wonder their mentality and economy ended with their discovery of the zero, on which they all sit up to nowdays. pity, that. but don';t let facts confuse you dear marco. hameed aboughaze, iranian
7. Does the ship contain Goldstones, the new rockets tested by
Tova ,   UK   (11.04.09)
Hamas and capable to reach Tel-Aviv? I wish Yediot Ahronot will report about Goldstone's name-contribution, or lack thereof, of his name to this shipment.
8. Well done IDF and Navy!
(11.04.09)
9. If Iran can arm Hamas in the Gaza Prison Camp
RJBH ,   Methil   (11.04.09)
No Doubt it will find a way to arm Hizbollah with the equipment it needs to maintain peace with the Zionist State. Zionist Aggression can be curbed, when they realise that any attack on Lebanon can be a painful mistake. Iran is building up a solid defence against an attack on its Nuclear power station.. The idea being to make it so costly for the Zionists.. that they think twice.
10. use the weapons against hezbullah
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (11.04.09)
they were heading for south lebanon anyway, so return them. just in a way they don't want.
11. Yet another blow for Hizbullah.
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (11.04.09)
Hizbullah is experiencing some very tough times recently. First came the assassination of Mughniye. Then there was this weapons bunker exploding, killing several operatives on the spot, releasing toxic chemicals to the air and exposing their flagrant breach of resolution 1701. Then came this financial meltdown with the "Lebanese Madoff" evaporating hundreds of millions of their money. Then came the recent explosion, where another senior Hizbullah commander was killed. And now come these great news - Hizbullah busted again. Way to go IDF!

Israel Economy is thriving. This is not piracy, because the ship carries weapons to be used against Israel. Marco Dildo, you have always got your head stuck up your ass; so why dont you eat sh#*&!t and die!!!
14. Iran is at war with Israel
MAtthew ,   London   (11.04.09)
IRan is fighting a war with Israel through its proxies Hezbollah and Hamas and so this latest consignment of weapons is no great surprise. Marco - I see that you are completely ignorant of the fact that the Israeli economy is flourishing despite the global recession.
15. g-d blessess İSRAEL.... we pray for that....thank G-d

17. If ship taken in Cyprus waters what is law on that?
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (11.04.09)
Is not boarding a ship illegal and taking it to nearest port be the rule? If the ship was going to Syria was it legal or is it illegal to sell weapons?

Marco Comments in Ynet! 49. #31 Sarah You think you are smart dont you. Well I am not a computer expert, so if you tell me how to get my IP address, I will send it to you. My name is Marco and I am spanish living in Belgium. Any other information about me that you need? Marco , Spain (03.13.09) http://www.ynetnews.com/Ext/App/TalkBack/CdaViewOpenTalkBack/1,11382,L-3685902-2,00.html =================================== 8. #3 Gee First of all, I never said I was Spanish. Just because I am in Spain does not mean that I am Spanish. Even though its none of your business, I will tell you that I am an American Citizen just so that you lay off my hosts the Spaniards. I am frankly ashamed to belong to a country who is the main reason for your miserable criminal existence. Marco , Spain (07.17.09) http://www.ynetnews.com/Ext/App/TalkBack/CdaViewOpenTalkBack/1,11382,L-3748094,00.html ==================================== 19. #18 Rachel, USA Hey Rachel, I am proud to say that my computer is Zionist free. I am also glad to say that I contribute a modest annual fee to a Hezbollah charity. Does that answer your question once and for all? You keep bringing up the same point over and over again, dont you have something else to talk about? Marco , Spain (07.21.09) http://www.ynetnews.com/Ext/App/TalkBack/CdaViewOpenTalkBack/1,11382,L-3749684,00.html =================================== 10. Ynet, why did u censor my post? A Lebanese friend of mine invited me to visit South Lebanon this coming April, where he will introduce me to some of the brave men that fought your IDF in 2006. I will be shown the places where fierce battles took place. I will be able to shake their hands and listen to their stories. Now, which part of my post do you consider "incitement, slander, racist slurs and inappropriate language"? Is that how you practice journalism principles? Sorry, but you may censor what I write, but you will never be able to censor what I think. Marco , Spain (02.12.09) http://www.ynetnews.com/Ext/App/TalkBack/CdaViewOpenTalkBack/1,11382,L-3749684,00.html ============================ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=site:http://www.ynetnews.com+marco+spain&aq=f&oq=&aqi= Just ignore him/them ... after all dogs that bark never bite... Man, this creature probably has nightmares of Jews. He is sick.
21. IDF takes over arms vessel
JGYMA ,   NAKURU, KENYA.   (11.04.09)
Congratulation to the IDF for the good job done. But remember you need to deal direct with the main source of the deadly weapons and not only in transist.
22. to #19 (giggly) good idea.
ghostq   (11.04.09)
just add note that said warm hug from Israel :P
23. Sounds like a diversionary tactic to me...
Giles Preswick ,   Johannesburg, SA   (11.04.09)
Sailing so close to Israeli shores carrying contraband, being so 'co-operative'. Sounds to me that this is a diversion for a large shipment, a straight leaf out of the tactics used by international drug smugglers. Possibly also carrying weapons far inferior to the real shipment to give the mislead intelligence about armaments.
24. To: No. 17
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (11.04.09)
The ship that was interdicted carried false bills of lading; a search quickly determined that the vessel was carrying munitions and arms. That's one international violation. Prior to that, however, it was established that the vessel sailed from an Iranian port, and evidently was headed in a direction quite different from the discharge port specified in the charterparty and the manifests. The vessel's master was rather vague about his destination, and this was sufficient to raise concerns, and that is why the ship was seized and a full search commenced, which revealed the fact that it was carrying arms, in violation of arms embargos imposed on Syria and Lebanon (not to mention Iran) as state sponsors of terror. To answer your question -- vessels get boarded all the time; if all papers are found to be in order, and the ship appears to be heading where it claims to be heading, the boarding party thanks the master for his time and departs the vessel. The United States does this quite often in areas patrolled by the various U.S. fleets. The ship was probably headed to Tartous, a port in Syria. There are sanctions in effect that prohibit the sale of weapons to Syria; it's really nothing more than Iran's conduit to Hizbollah, and providing weapons to a terrorist organization is also a contravention of international law.
25. To: No. 17 -- one more point
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (11.04.09)
The vessel was not in Cypriot waters, although that would not have been a problem because Cyprus is a vigorous participant in the international effort to curb illegal arms shipments to terrorist organizations and state sponsors of terror. Like most nations in the world, Cyprus claims a 22 nautical mile territorial limit. Had the vessel strayed into Cypriot waters, the Cypriot coast guard would have interdicted the vessel. As it was, it was in international waters, in an area frequently patrolled by Israel.

Hamas recently, hoping to reach Tel-Aviv and mass murder Jewish children?
27. Marco , Spain
Bravo to the IDF....   (11.04.09)

29. To: Sam at No. 20
Sarah B ,   New York / Saviyon   (11.04.09)
Oh, my goodness, Sam, you have absolutely made my day! With any luck, Marco the multi-national will now slink away. But even if he doesn't, THANK YOU! I now know whose posts not to bother reading. Although he will probably turn up using another pseudonym -- he's got several; different names, same garbage.
