It seems that Judge (and I use the term advisedly) Goldstone does more whining than the Palestinians. Not only that, but his fear of being kidnapped by Hamas is evidence of a total lack of critical thinking on his part. After all, why the hell would Hamas want to harm the best public relations flak they've ever had?

Just by chance I've seen the debate live from Brandies. I must admit, Goldstone looked very much better and intellectually appealing than Dori Gold. The chatter boxes of israeli polititians, for example, are very stupid ( referring to Yishai etc). Nevertheless, Goldstone must understand that Israeli ministers come of different origins and for example Yishai adjusts his way of talking and spinning to that one of Middle east. Israel is inbedded in M.E. therefore must behave often as M.E. country, otherwise would not be respected by enemies. I agree that some of the statements were idiodic, but this is the best Yishai could do to adjust himself to Hamas, Hizballa and PLO inorder to make them understand the point. Moreover, the PLO were chearing Israel to do as large a dammage as possible to Hamas, to get a political gain. There is much more to politics than to human rights. Finally, Goldstone may petition himself the Supreme Court of Israel to investigate case by case circumventing the goverment. If I were Goldstone, I would have done it, not only to do the justice, but also to clear my name. He certainly has scored points with me. I believe he's a very honest man-a judge, while polititians are polititians ( without adjectives)

Whether it is true or not. So Goldstone did not do his homework. In many civilian areas that were bombed, there are pictures of arms hidden under kitchen counters in homes, caches of arms in public places. Such a report should have been so factual and backed up by proof. The world is already anti-semitic and doesn't need further help, but in this case, when the report is unbalanced with parts of it unresearched, this is a crime.

I wonder if Israel would be so isolated today if it would have pursued more boldly its arms sales to China years ago. In hindsight, giving up the chance at strategic relations with the new superpower was a tremendous blow. It caused Israel to put all its eggs in one basket in dependency on the US, and settled instead for a relationship with an ungrateful India that could involve Israel indirectly in a conflict with China. That India, the US and Europe fail to support Israel despite all Israel does for them highlights why, in the aftermath of the Goldstone Crisis, an EASTERN and EURASIAN orienation for Israel is a major Israeli strategic interest.

Goldstone thinks that war is a soccer game. He, only he, can be the referee who decides about violations. This arrogance does not reflect the only truth:"Wars are there to win" not at the UN, the Hague or Washington, but down there in Sderot.
