them for informing Israel's intelligence services and in so doing having saved the lives of many Jewish children, mothers with their babies in their arms, men and women of all ages and walks of life, since these are the very targets of Iran's front troops on Israel's northern borders - Hizballah - and Israel's southern borders - Islamic Jihad and Hamas. Thank you, America! P.S. Note, the UN is silent after so many violations of international laws and humanitarian laws by Iran, Syria and Hizballa. Neither the General Assembly, nor the Security Council and of course, total silence from the UN Human Rights Council.

4. BEVERE OF IRANIAN SABOTAGE IN PERSIAN GULF !!!.
Arn-Orao. ,   Sweden-Srbia.   (11.06.09)
According to the Arab report, the Americans spotted a suspicious Iranian ship entering the Gulf of Oman and docking at Dubai's Jebel Ali port in mid October. The boat belonged to Iran's national shipping company, IRISL. IF IRAN CAN DOCK THEIR SHIPS AT PORTS IN THE WESTERN PERSIAN GULF, THEY CAN FROM THOSE SHIPS ALSO SABOTAGE THOSE PORTS, AT A FUTURE WAR TO COMENCE !!!. Arn-Orao.

FURTHER - IT IS WERY OBVIOUS THAT IRAN WILL TRY TO STAB ISRAEL IN THE BACK, ARMING HAMAS AND HIZBOLLA AND POSSIBLY SYRIA ALSO, IN ORDER TO - AVERT ATTENTION AND FORCE, AWAY FROM THEMSELVES, USING THEM AS FIRST STRIKERS, IF IRAN SENSES AN MILITARY STRIKE AGAINST THEMSELVES IS IMMINENT. ISRAEL !!! - " YOU HAVE TO STRIKE FIRST " !!!. Arn - Orao.

The Egyptians claimed the ship was transporting "only food products" and nothing else. If so, then somebody apparently came up with a brilliant new marketing scheme...wrap your food products in packaging that looks exactly like katyushas and anti-tank missiles.
9. Shame on you YNET!
Marco ,   Spain   (11.06.09)
As a respectable news outlet, you should be more professional than that. In the article above, it seems that Ynet is entering a gray area in journalism bordering on propaganda. " Report: US informed Israel of arms ship ". The source of the report is not mentioned by Ynet. You then go on to say that the report was first mentioned in 'London-based al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper'. You fail once again to mention the source of the report. (By the way London-based al- Sharq al Awsat is a Suidi paper known for its bitter hostility towards Iran). Finally Ynet, you briefly touch on the most important part of the article when you say that the Saudi paper was quoting "Israeli sources". So Ynet should have gone straight to the point by saying that Israeli sources are behind the report. In an Israeli survey, it was found that the most Israelis believe Hassan Nasrallah more than they believe their own leaders. Nasrallah has denied any connection to the weapon carrying vessel and there is no reason to doubt his words. There is a border of several hundred kilometers between Lebanon and Syria where weapons can safely pass through. There is an international airport in Beirut with hundreds of flights landing and taking off weekly, so why would an intelligent man like Hassan Nasrallah ship weapons on a vessel that will pass through an area that is under Israeli and international watch? It does not make sense UNLESS... Unless it is theatrics produced by Israely-wood. Everytime the Goldstone report is up for consideration at the U.N, something has to happen that shows Israel as the vulnerable state with its numerous enemies just lying in the wings waiting to drive their stakes through Israel's heart. Even before the news of the ship's capture and the 'discovery" of its cargo were announced, Israeli diplomats worldwide were busy making their case to their host countries. Israely-wood is still a failure and it needs decades before they can become as effective as their American counterpart in Hollywood. (remember Saddam's weapons of mass destruction?) The weapons siezed on the ship are Israeli weapons and the whole thing is a pure sharade to fool the world. By the way, the world was not fooled and as I type, the results of the U.N voting is out and its not in Israel's favor. Right now, I am predicting that the next time the Goldstone report is to be discussed at the U.N, there will be a major incident staged by Israely-wood. No one will be fooled.

Any "bombing" (more likely torpedoing) would have been of the Iranian-flagged vessel which first set sail from an Iranian port and is likely to have had Iranian crew. Of course the torpedo solution would have remained available to Israel once the cargo was transferred to the M/V FRANCOP, but Israel had no wish to harm a totally innocent crew or damage a vessel owner who had no idea that the vessel was chartered under fraudulent terms or that it was carrying lethal contraband. Iranian arms-laden vessels have been known to mysteriously sink en route to Lebanon and/or Syria. However, once the cargo was aboard the FRANCOP, Israel would have taken this option off the table straightaway.

American satellites can identify the brand of a pack of cigarettes lying on a picnic table. The big eye in the sky constantly surveils Iranian ports, and the traffic leading in to the ports. That, coupled with Israeli intelligence on the ground, accounts for Iran's dismal record of late in supplying its terrorist proxies with arms. I believe Iran is now 0 for 8.
13. Marco. I made an attempte to read you story BUT

Your rambeling, ittatic, fairytale made not sence what's so ever. I actualy fell asleep due to bordem. I think you need to read your local papers, stick to carton section, this type of reading must be stressing your mind to the point of not return.
14. Israeli PR at its finest
Eric ,   Israel   (11.06.09)
Why would we bomb the ship versus capturing it? We would bomb it and then claim "there were bombs on board....really" whereas now we have some killer images to show to the press and international ambassadors. Our lack of competence with respect to PR is why we are losing this war.

Israel is in the business of protecting its citizens and its borders. Leave the PR to the terrorist organizations and their apologists. Had it been feasible to quickly and quietly dispose of vessel as it set sail from the Iranian loading port, that would have been just as effective in keeping weapons away from Iran's terrorist proxies. As it was, the cargo was discharged in Egypt and lifted onto the FRANCOP, which necessitated Israel's undertaking of a rather expensive operation to interdict the vessel. I care far less about PR opportunities than I do the safety and security of Israel and its citizens. Doing the right -- no, the ONLY -- thing that promotes the security of Israel and the safety of its citizens requires no public relations or media blitz.

While I agree with you that the most important thing is to protect ourselves, sadly we live in a world with other people. In my opinion, PR is equally important to the accuracy of the mission. Until we tip the scales of perception no amount of bombs will bring us victory. Thats not to say we shouldn't fight or defend ourselves...we definitely should....but we should start to come to terms with the fact that modern wars are fought in many battlefields and sometimes by people in suits instead of uniforms.

I accept your opinions, but I do wish to point out that despite all the physical evidence, apologists for Iran and its terrorist proxies continue to put a mythological spin on the event. We are dealing for the most part with fanatics. All the public relations in the world will not counter that. Do you think filming Operation Cast Lead would have made a difference?

No, I am not suggesting we film our wars :) I do think though that presenting our information, videos, etc to the Goldstone committee would have been more productive than ignoring the investigation and then claiming it as a complete lie. I agree its a bias and baseless report but the majority of the "average joes" in the West take it at face value and buy into the notion that Israel not participating is because we are guilty. Eventually governments need to answer to the "average joes" on their streets. Ultimately our security matters more than their opinion but achieving our security might be a bit easier if we present our facts more clearly instead of constantly screaming "Anti-semites!"

Oh, absolutely. I am more than certain that gratitude was expressed, too. With the mind-boggling amount of international commercial shipping that is an everyday fact, this sort of intelligence could only come from satellite observation, probably bolstered by human intelligence on the ground. Whatever its public posture, the United States knows full well what Iran is all about and the U.S. also understands that Iran must be stopped. Hence the coordination between the United States and Israel. With a happy outcome, I am more than pleased to say. Terrorists must be stopped. Their state sponsors must be stopped, as well. And they will be. They will be.

Sadly for you, the Republic of Georgia is not on any lists of embargoed nations, nor is it considered illegal to supply the Republic of Georgia with arms. That is probably why both the United States and the European Union -- in addition to Israel -- are supplying weapons to them. For the record, only Russia, Venezuela and Nicaragua do NOT consider South Ossetia to be a part of the Republic of Georgia. Russia is whining for no good reason -- except that they are mightily embarrassed to have been found to be providing arms and technology to countries which ARE embargoed and considered to be state sponsors of terror. Hey, how long until that North Sea oil runs out? My friend who is a petroleum engineer tells me the answer is "not very long at all." Gosh, what will happen to Scotland then? Back to distilling spirits illegally? Selling hagis to unsuspecting tourists who do not mind eating offal? (Ugghj!) How despicable is that! Actually, how pathetic is that?
