Offended Reader   (11.07.09)
this is another Israeli scam worth a comic show for children TV.
3. Pictures made in Israel lie.
Persian CAT   (11.07.09)
The Israeli government has not produced a single document, except nice color pictures of course, to prove its naked act of piracy in the international waters was justified. This act of piracy was merely done to divert attention from Israel's war crimes and it has not worked.
4. Lebanon.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (11.07.09)
Lebanon is a country based on consensus between its more or less demographically balanced Christians, Sunnis, and Shias, and its smaller population of Druze. No sect is allowed by law or social contract to rule over the others. The system, when it works, provides checks and balances. Hezbollah has overthrown all of it. And when the system is overthrown, as it has been in the past, Lebanese have demonstrated that they can and will fight as viciously as Iraqi militias in Baghdad. Lebanon has no shortage of people from every sect and most political movements who will fight dirty urban warfare with little regard for unarmed civilian noncombatants. 7. Hezbollah to join Lebanon Gov. and militia may join army
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (11.07.09)
Lebanon is getting strong but has 2 major points of weakest, lack of good air defense and navy artillery. They could get S-300 defense system and afew small Iranian submarines to counter the weakens.
8. they searched ! what a joke

I agree completely. The Lebanese have been walking around with the words "Kick Me" emblazoned on their posteriors. And Hizbollah has been only too ready to comply.
12. Israel must hand over all goods in ship to righful owner
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (11.07.09)
That is piracy, israel tries to manipulate and control arms business to sell its own arm and US arms, Therefore intimidating international public if they do not buy their guns it will be intercepted in Mediterenian If Piracy to start again In mediterenian we are sons and daughters of Barbarossa(He founded a state in Algeria as a Pirate and then was appointed as Admiral General of Ottoman forces who also saved and brought Jews from Spanish Inquisition to Ottoman empire) and Mediterenian will be very tight and difficult sea for you.
13. #12 Who are the rightful owners?
Raphael ,   Netanya   (11.07.09)
Everybody denies any link to this smuggled (as shipping documents are fake) cargo. No doubt that in islamic eyes somalian pirates are law enforcers of the Shariah.
14. Does Israel.....
Marco ,   Spain   (11.07.09)
sell arms on the international market? Does Israel posses nuclear weapons? Why is Israel allowed to get away with things that civilized would is prohibited from?
15. Doesn't make sense
Observer ,   Melbourne   (11.07.09)
There is something not right in this story. We know very well that Hizbullah is a number one enemy for Egypt and currently there are a number of Hizbullah members in Egypt's cells for planning terrorist attacks within Egypt. Why would Hizbullah choose Egyption port to stop at and to transport its weapons through?. If this storey is true, Why would Israel release the ship and its crue so quickly?. I think this ship was sent to Beirut from Egypt for a Sunni Miltia that is to confront Hizbullah in Lebanon and due to lack of communications between Israel & Egyption authorities it was mistakenly caught by Israel. This makes more sense isn't it.?
16. It seems most of you are against...

My, my. How many hallucinogetics did you consume in order to produce your post? Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Iran got caught with its pants down around its knees and its knickers in a twist. Sigh. How embarrassing is that? By the way -- how is Australia doing in its program of restoring the country to its original Aboriginal inhabitants? What? There is no such program? Australia's theft is deemed appropriate by its "aristocracy?" Well, in light of the fact that Australia's "aristocracy" descends from British criminals sentenced to deportation, why am I not surprised at this degree of calumny? Well, criminals will out, no matter how many generations intervene, isn't that right, "Observer?" Are your antecedents rapists and murderers? Are you proud of that fact?
21. To No.20
Observer ,   Melbourne   (11.08.09)
Calm down dear, I am a Proud Australian myself. My parents arrived in Melbourne in the last 50 years. So what you wrote doesn't apply on my ancestors. Your post does not answer my questions. Why would Hizbullah import weapons through Egyptian port they may as well import them via Israeli port. You should read more news to know how bad is the situation between Iran & Egypt and between Hizbullah and Egypt. And why would Israel release the ship and itscrew, providing that transporting weapons to a terrorist organisation is considered a crime. (Wake up).

Just as a terrorist house is raised because he/she chose violence as a negotiation, so too a ship containing weapons intended for destruction in war to a peaceful existence should be sunk. Those on it should be given leniency to leave at sea, and be the guests and the expense of the nation that welcomed them, and with no fanfare, the ship sunk. This would let any shipowner know the cost of violating national order could be VERY costly. This of course could only be done with a national edict and a refusal to pay attention to courts, so that the renters of that ship space think hard about who is going to carry their product, much of which will be legitimate. If the Nation sending secretly promised another ship in lieu of any lost, Israel needs ties to the performance tools that would manufactor the ship, and profit both ways..This is simple pure Justness, not revenge, just strength, which the world understands much deeper than double speak diplomacy, which simply bides it's time, knowing war is coming. The one seems as if it would bring war, but instead, it would stop the enemy in it's tracks. The other seems as if it strives for peace, but in essence, hastens the pride and arrogance of the vengeful heart, which always believes in itself to it's demise, at which time, it is too late to live, but the seeds of stupidity have been sown to another generation of followers who have a greater desire of revenge out of the death of the one who accepted them and gave them their self identity, and the senselessness continues till someone arises with strength to actually do what the situation requires. Even the Hatfields and McCoys stopped fighting at one time, based on too many lost. Israel needs to negotiate from a position of strength, not weakness, after all, in war, this ship would already be at the bottom, with all legitimate items lost as well.Israel could have a clause allowing the ship owner to "buy back" the ship before sinking, though you might have to sink one to get the right response from the next. This could be used in ways that would strengthen the ability to stand against terrorism, and thus, the enemy fights itself with it's own monies. Justness is rarely sweet, but their are exceptions. You say this is too radical. No, letting a ship out of your grasp that deliberated on your death is too radical.
