4. Education
motti ,   bet shemesh   (11.11.09)
nice to see something with traditional values and our heritage being distributed. As opposed to the garbage that pop culture, TV and the media try to sell our children. One day society will wake up and realize that the only brainwashing that is going on is what ever MTV and cable TV are trying to convince you of as being normal... until that too changes with the wind, and society again follows to the next temporary trend. Only Torah and its values has survived the test of time in every culture for thousands of years.

education and entertainment, let the world see our culture.
6. # 4 Motti talking of education
Avi ,   israel   (11.12.09)
How about teaching them to learn the baisc skills in life so they can join the work force and be productive members of society instead of milking the system dry. Over 70% of the charideem live off state benefits. We have seen such examples of these so called values you seem to keen to promote, including child abuse, attacking women, weekly riots, gee with values like that i wouldnt count on surviving the next few thousand years !
7. AVI consider the missing facts
motti ,   bet shemesh   (11.12.09)
#1) Child abuse is a world wide issue not exclusive to orthodox Jews. True we need to be held to a higher standard.. as you seem to be demand, and I am Ok with that. 2) Not 70% live off the state: most of the states welfare is for Arabs, ethipoeans and poor Israelis. #3) Orthodox families pay taxes due to thier large food, housing and clothing consumption in the way of VAT and other consumer taxes. Actual income tax is only 1 part of the economy. The shops they support pay taxes and as a result we all benifit. #4) most of their educational system is funded with donated money rasied from out side of israel. Every school, Kolel and yeshivah employs teachers and staff. Billions of dollars come in from all over the world to support their communities. #5) every family does work on some level, True some of the men might work in education or study while the women (g-d bless them for their hard work) also work. #6) Most Chareidy schools do not depend on support from the ministry of education so as not to be subject to values and demands that are contrary to Torah and their heritage . They are not as evil as some would like to think. Look for the good and you will find it.
8. Religious comic books are natural progression
BH   (11.12.09)
I used to read Maschiach Times in the USA, which had comic strips and stories of Biblical tales and Hassidic leaders. More recently, there were the Mendy and Golem comic books. So this has been a natural progression and not at all surprising.
9. Haredi Comic Books...How comical
Mike ,   Portland, USA   (11.17.09)
Boy, wait until some younger brother finds the stash of his big brother's Haredi "comic" books under the mattress. Will Emah and Abbah be relieved? ....or actually upset....when they find out that between their Haredi approved illustrated covers are actually the types of regular "girlie" magazines that normal, developing boys really like to look at....Are these people actually this gullible and naive about their kids? Give me a break...
