Instead of oslo which was like every other peace plan deadline based. Instead it should have been take it slow but steady. The intial plan should have been we in principle agree to the creation of an arab state providing it is the result of real peace. We have no deadlines we all agree we talk and it takes as long as it takes. Trust would have slowly developed and once you have that then you can start treating both sides like adults instead of chidlren. That means that they all would have meant everybody accepted they were going to have to make some compromises on their demands. There would have been ups and downs when things would stall but it would be easier to pick up where we left off because we had been developing roots over time. Arafat would have been foreced into a corner to make real peace because that was the only thing that would get anything terror wasn't going to work. In Israel there is no argument about security because we are making real peace before we are even giving away anything. The arab state would have been the prize for real peace. Stating what might have happened if someone had not died is all a bit of an imprecise science, and as such interesting conjecture, but totally irrelevant to 2009. Also I would like to say that Bill Clinton was the best president that the USA have ever had, he did so much for world peace and was totally honest in all of his dealings. But if I said that, I would be a liar, just like him.
