Phew...we can all relax. The Iranians want to nuke us, the Palestinians will declare statehood kicking off a new confrontation, there's poverty throughout the country ,and we're the most corrupt country in the developed world, ...but its all ok cause the T.A luxury flat market is back on track, doing just fine.
2. THIS IS REAL ISRAEL

'big deal' lol   (11.18.09)
I thought Chanukah is coming not Purim lol. How many more flats do these greedy guts need? LOL
4. I don't agree with 1,2,3
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (11.18.09)
What's the matter, bitter? Jealous that you aren't the one moving into one of those apartments or involved in successful real estate. If you live around the rest of the country and annnoyed by this article just remember all the taxes generated from this sale can go into government funded projects maybe in your neighbourhood. And in any case, there are plenty of luxury apt buildings going up all over the country. Whats wrong with progress? You're just bitter.
5. You/we urgently need a comedy section...

in ynet, and this is IT, for starters. All ex kibbutznikim and other nouveaus lol? Looks a bit like a prison bloc actually...
6. I don't agree with 4

This is Greed is in all its ugly manifestations, starting with the primitive style of the advertising tactics, through to the end product which is the constant vile over- consumption of materialism. No jealousy no bitterness, just deep sadness about what this all says about us as a society, to be truthful.
7. #4 spoiled and either clueless, insensitive, or both
5th generation ,   Israel   (11.19.09)
Those apartments are rarely lived in, and take up badly needed space from the people who actually work and need to live in Tel Aviv. Maybe you're lucky and can't resist gloating like a true sadist, but even those of us who don't need TA feel the pain of those who do. Israel is supposed to take care of her workers - she was founded for that. If you don't agree, go plunder some Native Americans and walk on some Mexican back. Your thinking is poison to the fabric of our society.
8. If those who can spend money
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (11.21.09)
don't do it , how will the economy stay afloat ? If people who can afford restraurants , theatres , books , cars and other things don't use and buy them , who will give the people a job ?

The buildings aren't constructed, they haven't been awarded planning permission and there is no gas or water infrastructure for the building sites. I work right next to the supposed site of Sarona. I can't see how they can even begin work without damaging the Templar Village that was just recently moved in a very expensive project and whose structures have not yet settled (which is why they are not being used as offices currently). If you come to the area you're looking at a very narrow space that will abut three tall and rather ugly office buildings (I'm in one of them). Plus it's very noisy. With all the windows shut you can still hear the highways like you're standing right next to it. If you ask me the whole thing stinks of a scam. The marketing was aggressive and crass. If you had any sense you wouldn't spend so much money on something that existed in paper. And half of all hte luxury apartments in Israel are empty because they're bought by diaspora Jews. How about some affordable housing for students, young people and newly weds in the city? People who will maintain Tel-Aviv not those who only come on the high holidays. We're turning into Mexico.

This is not a small company , they are building in many places , also on the corner of Ibn Gvirol and Shaul Hamelech . Not a quiet place , either noisy . And people buy , and pay high prices ! What's the problem that they are sold to non residents ? Those people bring in the money , give work to many , pay arnona . And regarding affordable appartements in Tel Aviv , nobody will build them i think , expensive ground makes it very difficult .
11. I still remember the Gindi bankrupcy of the 80s
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (12.06.09)
One bro committed suicide because the other two brothers fled the country and left him to pick up the blame. They built for the middle class tens if not hundreds of families left with unfinished apartments and loans to pay off.
