1. 900 Pieces of Silver...........
Shlomo Kamra   (11.18.09)
When will you people get it through your thick skulls, that Jerusalem is not the internationally recognised capital of Israel, and waving around a copy of a scroll does not make that a legal document in an international court of law? Build your ghetos in Tel Aviv, and stop wasting your time and money building homes for the future Palestians. All you are doing is further isolating yourself from the international community, and making a lot of people angrier. Everyone is on the side of the Pals, but you are too silly, and too stubborn to realise that! Oh well, you lose in the long run then.
2. Livni good company for Kouchner
DT ,   TA Israel   (11.18.09)
Every time Livni opens her mouth she digs herself deeper into the "pit of surrender all" and then expects "peace". She is a true definition of "Left wing insanity " who never could learn.
3. GILO BUIDING
PAUL ,   tONGUE SCOTLAND UK   (11.18.09)
More Bibi hardnosed diplomacy, ill judged & arrogant to the point of contemptuousness. It seems to me that the 'world' should be seriously considering extreme sanctions against Israel, never mind Iran! The evident stumbling block to peace in the mid-east to my mind is Israel's denial mindset.
4. What does Israeli consensus have to do with anything?
Eyal ,   Rehovot   (11.18.09)
Why on earth should Israeli consensus be the deciding factor as to what is legally Israel and what is not. Israel majority opinion does not get to decide sovereignty, that is up to International law, and Gilo is occupied territory, the civilian settlement of which is a breach of international law and a war crime.
5. Paul, #3
Jason, Ph.D. ,   Charlotte, USA   (11.18.09)
Whatever Israel has done in E. Jerusalem, a city captured by Israel in a war it did not start, is minor in comparison to what China has done in Tibet. Are you also advocating extreme sanctions against China, Paul? I await your answer. And while we are on the subject, please provide us with your level of study on the Mid-East conflict. Have you done the necessary amount of in-depth study that is required to truly be qualified to understand what is going on there? Again, I await your answer.
6. When will you realise there is no "international law"
rebecca ,   Modiin   (11.18.09)
According to the way things are done internationally, when when one country wins terrertory, especailly in a war in which they were attacked, they keep that terretory. That is as close as you get to international law. As for Israeli consensus, as Isralies vote for their government (unlike the pals who voted for hamas and kept the PA) the gov must do what Isralies want. And if that means expanding Gilo, that's what happens. This is not about leaders wishes but about a peoples wish.
7. Sure it is, lieberman is donald duck & Bibi is guffy

8. timelines are why this whole process failed
zionist forever   (11.18.09)
In 1993 Rabin & Peres shook Arafats hand and the goal was to create an arab state by 1995. Well we missed the deadline just like we miss every deadline. If the policy from the start had been we agree in principle to the creation of an arab state in borders to be negotiated but this state is a reward for real peace then things may have been different. The first step would have been developing trust and if Arafat had wanted that it would have meant not using terror as a weapon to pressure Israel otheriwise we would have got nowhere. There would be ups and downs but there would be progress. Once the arabs had shown they could be trusted then we could have started discussing the borders of this state. The arabs would have either continued to use diplomacy and Arafat & Abbas not throw tantrums and used terror otherwise talks would stop and the terror would be achiving nothing. It would have taken alot longer than the 2 years that Clinton wanted to create the arab state within under oslo so no guarantee he would be still be president when we start getting results but things might have been moving. Oslo was 16 years ago and the arabs are further away from statehood from ever and thats working to timelines. Deadlines are very good for the egos of politicians who can claim the credit when they sign a deal even iits not going to work. Real peace though cannot be made on a deadline Arabs have to be trained not appeased.
9. America and Gilo
Eyal ,   Highland Beach   (11.18.09)
Obama is the biggest obstacle to peace. If Obama continues with his ways, America will fall, not Israel. Bibi said this in the past, Jerusalem is Israel's Jewish Capital, it will always be. If Obama continues, I am afraid the outcome will be war. A message to Obama; It's not going to work this time. You don't own the State of Israel. You have separated America in 1/2 with your health care and your other leftists moves, but Israel is not part of the US. If you don't want to look bad, stay away from Israel. Israel doesn't need you and your stupid remarks.

you cannot tell a country where it can build on disputed territory ..yes disputed just because the media and the u.n. now call it occupied doesnt make that the law...no one can tell a country where they can construct....how would obama like it if no blacks were allowed in the white house for a future native indian country
11. Apologies for #3's ignorance.

12. My response to Shlomo Karma No1
Manhigut Yehudit Guy ,   Israel   (11.18.09)
So by building Yerushalyim we are isolating ourselves from the International Community?? WHO CARES? We did not come to OUR country to integrate into international community. We came to be JEWS.

You are favoring Judenrein and ethnic cleansing by saying what you are saying. The problem is that you don't get it. Think before talking and better send your letters to the French press or Arab press.
