The whole creation story makes no sense at all. On the first day God creates light, but doesn't create the sun and moon until the 4th day. On the 4th day he creates the universe with trillions of stars, but it took 5 days to create earth, water, plants, animals. So, why does an omnipotent being need to rest?

It was Christianity and Islam that ' kept the Jews'in Europe the Christians placed the Jews in walled Ghettos, depriving the of all civil rights,when the French revolution freed the Jews from the Ghettos,Jews prospered and started to assimilate,in the east the Muslims imposed on the Jews high taxes,when the Jews couldn't take it any more and wished to convert to Islam,the Muslims refused :Just stay a Jew, and continue to carry the tax load,The Sabbath did lift the spirit,and gave hope to the Jews in their plight.
