1. Just silly posturing
AJ - Raalte   (11.21.09)
That Libanese general had better try and prevent attacks by Hezbollah against Israel. As long as he can keep the "Party of God" quiet, he has nothing to fear from Israel. But he doesn't have the guts for that.
2. To Ashkenazi
Salah Beytar ,   Beirut Lebanon   (11.21.09)
The old cowboy days are gone and are gone for ever. Mr Mugniyahs revenge is on its way, its just a matter of time. You must pay for your crimes and we will never let you get away with it. We are ready for you and waiting to meet again.
3. Israel will only attack Hezbo if it attacks it first.
JO   (11.21.09)
Israel is interested in a quiet, secure border, not war. Hezbo on the other hand needs a war to justify itself and it's weapons. As a proxy to Iran and not a true Lebanese patriot. Israel is prepared like any country but will not make war with Lebanon and is not interested in doing so. So who really wants peace here? So they can wait until the cows come home. The IDF will not be drawn into a war and will not iniate a war. There is not need. Maybe Iran will use Hezbo to do so it things get tough for it. Hezbo is not popular in Iran, not by the people at any rate, and is becoming a hated entity.
4. Hizbullah is looking for confrontation with Israel.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (11.21.09)
Hizbullah is an Islamist terrorist organization, and therefore feels the need to attack Israel. As Hizbullah is afraid of the reaction of Israel it is looking for legitimacy for its actions. Evidence indicates that Hizbullah will try to shoot down Israeli aircraft flying over Lebanon. Israel cannot accept that Hizbullah is continuing to build its capabilities both in quality and in quantity and should not wait any more before reacting militarily. Hizbullah doesn’t fight only against Israel as explained at : http://xrl.us/oowhv
5. Nasrallah needs to keep his date with imad...in hell
Mikha ,   Kenya   (11.21.09)

7. Not to worry, Hezbollah is ready....
Marco ,   Spain   (11.21.09)
8. #3 JO
Marco ,   Spain   (11.21.09)
Hezbollah does not need a war to "justify itself and it's weapons" as you wrongly point out. Hezbollah is the heart and soul of the Lebanese people!
9. #5 Mikha, Kenya
Marco ,   Spain   (11.21.09)
Hey Mikha, hell is where fatso Sharon is heading soon.
10. Lebanon in Bible prophecy has a sad future...
Rivkah   (11.21.09)
Tyre and Zidon will be destroyed. They do well to fear and should stop the war-mongering and harrassment of Israel because Lebanon cannot win and Israel cannot lose. One nation with Y'hovah is the winner. Y'hovah is the God of Israel and He does not lose wars.
11. Lebanon gave Hezbos key to their house.
Pinky ,   Atlanta   (11.21.09)
ALL of Lebanaon is game ever since they allow Hezbo to run their daily business. Bomb them from the air. They will run like mice. Beirut, etc will stand in the dark after their lights go out. Panic will kick in. Lebanon will be a basket case.
12. You threaten like a sour, old woman, Salah
Cameron ,   USA   (11.21.09)
Play the man, and ACT.
13. To Salah Beytar :
Thaara ,   Israel, Jerusalem   (11.21.09)
Are you threatening us? Is all you can think off?...revenge?
14. To nr 5 Mikha
Mike Van Harris ,   Antwerp Belgium   (11.21.09)
Mikha you should make this prayer, Oh lord help me keep my big babboon mouth shut untill I know what I am talking about. Palestine is an arabic country. and it will always be. Just like south Africa is for the Africans.
16. Reality
Military Expert ,   Boston MA USA   (11.21.09)
For those deluded souls miss lead by their policitcal and spiritual leaders....the last Lebanon Israeli conflict was a skirmish. To those who believe there was a great victory over Israel join the ranks of history's losers. No modern day military victory has been achieved or can be achieved without air superiority. Period, end of story. To those military genius who think otherwise thats why the US maintains a fleet of 16 aircraft carriers under astonomical expense and effort. Israel has the best pilots in the word, best electronics, best tactics. Israel destroyed 90+ Soviet SAM sites in Lebanon in the 80s without a single plane lost. Thats when Gorbachev declaired privately that war with the west (and Israel) is hopeless. Hopeless. The S300 missile systems under consideration for Iran are only a slight speed bump. Israel knows it and so do the Russians. Thats why there has been no sale, no deployment. Lebanon, Syria, Iran are defenseless in an all out war of survivial and they know it...and so do the Israelis.
17. A bunch of crazies
Anna ,   Be'er Sheva, Israel   (11.21.09)
Somehow it's hard for them to understand that no one will fire at them if they won't fire at us. The concept of keeping their missiles to themselves is too difficult, I guess.
18. Bring it on Lebanon
Jacob ,   UK   (11.21.09)
Normally I would say 'bring it on Hizbullah' but now that Lebanon is in cohorts with the Iranian and Syrian backed terrorists they are now responsible as a country. Lebanon I wouldn't bother trying to be on alert, you've already let Syria and Iran overrun your country right under your noses and what did you do? Nothing. Grow a pair, stop being children and kick Hizbullah, Syrian and Iranian influence out of your country. Be men for once. If not and there is war, Britain will stand fully behind Israel.
19. Hizbollah
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.21.09)
Hizbollah is the classic example of boys acting badly. Despite all their chest-beating, despite their posturing, they are really nothing but a schoolyard bully. Israel may tolerate the odd bloody nose or two but, as is the case with all bullies when challenged back, they will run away with their proverbial tail between their legs. Whatever Hizbollah may say to try and dupe the public, they know the reality of the situation, which is that Israel can put them down like the rabid dog they are any time Israel wants. Keep in mind that in 2006 -- which Hizbollah claims was a "victory," but which they know in their heart of hearts was hardly that -- Israel mobilized 5% of its forces. The rockets stopped. The prospect of a 10% Israeli mobilization terrifies Hizbollah; they know they would not survive that. Let Hizbollah do all the crowing it wants. It says something that Hizbollah is fighting this war with words. They know perfectly well what their fate will be should they try something stupid. Hizbollah is an old, toothless tiger with no claws. It likes to roar, and roar loudly, but it cannot do much more than that.
20. To: No. 13
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.21.09)
No, dear. Israel has tried peace on any number of occasions. Hizbollah's charter does not permit them to engage in acts peace; only violence. If that is the language which Hizbollah understands, then that is the language which Israel must use. Sad, isn't it? All that money that Hizbollah spends on terrorist training -- any idea how many college scholarships that would buy? That, by the way, is Hizbollah's greatest crime -- instead of funding education, they fund terror. It occurs to me that Lebanon would be a far better place for the Lebanese with Hizbollah gone, don't you think?
21. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.21.09)
Brilliant, insightful post. Some people just have to learn the hard way. Six wars, six resounding victories by Israel have taught them nothing. Oh well.
22. to # 16
American Dude ,   Long Beach USA   (11.21.09)
You sir have just made an excellent case for Iran's need to develop nuclear weapons. No nation should have to permanently live with the "military reality" that they are totally defenseless in a violent and volatile region.
23. #22 The Voice of Reason: Thank you!
Nour ,   Palestine   (11.21.09)
In a cowboy field, winner takes all. Israel is crying its nuclear monopoly will soon come to and end. Hence they will do whatever it takes (even at the expense that is their own swift destruction) to prevent other nations in the area to leap forward with technology. Thank God the world is slowly coming to grasp the threat that is Israel.
24. #2 Remember you have fans and allies on the other side...
Nour ,   Palestine   (11.21.09)
...of the border... Well done my friend. Rest assured the ENTIRE world is sympethatic to Lebanon and its people. Just last summer I came accross some Finnish people in Barcelona and they were raving about the good time they had in Beirut. The good old days are coming back, and no amount of Israeli bullying can stop it! Go Lebanon!
25. SILLY Lebanon, helloooooo...
shuebydoo ,   USA   (11.21.09)
Lebanon, use your resources, energy and military to take care of the Hizbollah problem. Israel is not interested in Lebanon...however Israel is concered about Hizbollah, the common enemy of Lebanon and Israel. Hizbollah will undermine both governments if left UNCHECKED!!!
26. Response to silly #22
shuebydoo ,   USA   (11.21.09)
Your perception and Iranian posture is not the same as Irans: The Iranian desire for nuclear weapons is not for self defense. Iran believes the Mahdi (Islamic messiah) is coming out of its nation to defeat Israel and the west. and is preparing for this event. This of course is just the opposite of the Judeo-Christian version of events where consolidated forces in the process of invading Israel are "supernaturally" destroyed. Drill down into the wars where Israel won against overwhelming Arab forces, and find out there were many cases of supernatural intervention, dramatic and unexplainable by human logic.
27. Hard to argue with that size-up, #16
Cameron ,   USA   (11.21.09)
Yes, the Israelis caught a whack on the nose during their ground stab into Lebanon, but were held back from truly settling the matter by political considerations. I've always felt the Arabs have never quite fully appreciated the sheer "steamroller" of firepower the Israelis could apply if they were to toss restraint aside. If the Shiites were idiot enough to fire those missiles at Israeli cities, then the Israelis would completely go for broke, and S. Lebanon would enter the future as a true parking lot. As always in the ME, when the game gets heavy, the Israelis hold & play the better hand. This latest squawk is just the usual Arab inferiority complex & raw fustration showing itself again.
28. What friends & allies, Nour?
Cameron ,   USA   (11.21.09)
If the Hez crowd finally forces the Israelis to come after them, the world will lean back, and do a grand total of nothing. No one will stop the tiger from chewing on the corpse, Nour.
29. #2 your another brainwashed idiot
rachel ,   usa   (11.21.09)
30. #7,8,9 do you get paid by the line or the word?
rachel ,   usa   (11.21.09)
its hard for you to believe that the rest of the world can see through all of you and don't like you ........
