I dont support these religious actions, but i believe that certain journalists you use are totally anti religious and biased against ISrael, so i really have a problem believing everything they write about events like this! i totally disagree with the behavior and tactics of the ultra-orthodox. I am not a Sabbath observant Jew but there is something to be said about the observance of Shabbat in Jerusalem. This should be part of the special character of the capital of the Jewish people. Isn't there a way to work this out for Intel and the religious Jews in Israel? Is this plant 24/7? If it is maybe govt could provide tax benefits, wage benefits, or some other concessions to compensate Intel for the cost of closing on Shabbat. Intel is good for Israel and visa versa. This just doesn't seem like an insurmountable obstacle to me. Can anyone shed light on this for me?
