Wow..Isnt this "Magnanimous" of these terror factions, not shooting at us civilians, at our city centers, trying to create, death, destruction and mayhem.. I REALLY appreciate the consideration...I was worried there for a second.....You know, MAYBE we would have to respond, but this time CRUSH you, once and for all...Just a thought...

" Wow..Isnt this "Magnanimous" of these terror factions, not shooting at us civilians, at our city centers, trying to create, death, destruction and mayhem.. " Sort of like Israel's actions in Gaza during the last Winter war (except with the use of White Phosphorus on civilians).

Lies , threats, and violence do not a state make. Israel is on trial and your outcome is bleek, please don't make it worse!

So what if white power was used, I say? Where is the verifiable proof btw? 12,000 Kassams and Grads..no need to verify there guy. Israel used 1/100th of it's power. I would have carpet bombed their cities,,used bunker busters on hide-outs and Daisy Cutters/clusters. I would show these thugs who hide behind their women and children no mercy,, Goldstone the traitor Jew notwithstanding. In the next was, the IDF must not fight with one-quarter hand..looking at the UNSC or Hillary. Israel's mistake was in NOT taking out those launch sites..after each launch and an area 1square mile around. This is war: during WW2, the US/Britain dropped millions of lbs of ordinance, on cities..to win the war. We Jews ended the war with our technology..absent which 10m Americans would be casualties fighting Germany and Japan., like the 25m Russians who died, over 200,000 to take Berlin (oh those poor Germans and the Wall).
7. #2... had there been no qassam launches --
Galut ,   Selah   (11.21.09)
-- there would not been a "cast Lead" therefore no phosphorus... everyone seems to forget Hamas provoked israel with close to 9000 qassam launches... and there fore bear much of the responsility for the civilian casuasties. phosphorus should have very limited use in civilian areas.
8. Hamas in its own words.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (11.21.09)
In January 2006 the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas won almost two-thirds of the seats in the Palestinian Authority parliamentary elections. The Hamas charter calls for the extermination of Jews as well as the destruction of Israel as an Islamic necessity. Its goal remains the destruction of Israel, and that the preferred means it chooses is continued “resistance” and Jihad, the PA euphemisms for terrorism. A statement made by Ahmad Yassin, founder and former head of Hamas, who was killed by Israel was made in response to Israel’s plan to evacuate Israeli towns in Gaza Strip in 2005. The message was that the Palestinians had found the key to destroying Israel. Since terror was forcing Israel to leave its towns in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinians would now only have to keep up the terror in Israel’s other cities and Israel would run from those as well. As to the Hamas charter

you seem to conveniently forget that Israel's action were a response to years of rocket fire on Israel. In reality Israel showed more restraint than any country in the world would if it had constantly had rockets shot at its civilian areas or military areas for that matter. The only mistake Israel made was stopping before finishing the job. If the world wants to complain about civilians being harmed and hamas wants to complain then they should consider not waging war from civilian areas. Oh and didn't Israel leave Gaza giving the arabs a chance to create a peaceful productive life for themselves which they failed at miserably and chose terror instead. I do feel for the innocents killed on both sides but on the arab side they should kick out the leaders that pursue violence and hatred and try and pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Should the rocket fire resume then Israel should leave nothing standing in gaza. that seems to be the only message that the hatred filled arabs are capable of understanding. a shame isn't it?
10. Gazans got the message
Cynthia ,   USA   (11.21.09)
Rockets and bombs fired at Israel will bring missiles and bombs fired back at Gaza. Keep your dogs on a leash.
11. Hamas Rockets
David R. Evans ,   Vancouver   (11.21.09)
Hamas also agreed in June 2008 not to fire rockets from Gaza, and Hamas kept its end of the bargain, but Israel repeatedly broke the deal. Gaza borders remained choked, Israeli troops shot and killed Palestinian farmers and fishermen, and Israel continued other aggressive acts towards Palestinians. On Nov. 4 2008, Gaza was attacked by Israel, another violation by Israel. Only after this attack did Hamas resume rocket fire (which, by the way, is seldom is effective, but rockets are about all Hamas fighters have to defend their people with against F-16s, artillery, tanks and warships). Palestinians were finally goaded into firing rockets again, and Israel slaughtered and maimed thousands of innocent people and destroyed their towns in Cast Lead. Why should Hamas again make any deals with Israel while Israel continues it's ethnic cleansing campaigns?

Cool and all Israel retalliated to the rocket attacks but the rules of war (and international law) still apply. Israel used so much disproportionate force it was not funny. 13 Israelis at the cost of 1400 Palestinians? Even you must see something was wrong there. White phosphorus should have NO use in civillian areas.
14. Question for Hamas: So what did the rockets do for you
enjoying this ,   zion   (11.21.09)
Isn't this nice, hamas finally admits to being able to control rocket fire from gaza and now they are going to stop firing, all to help the gazans. what the heck were these morons thinking for the last 4 years. they needlessly destroyed gaza's infrastrcuture and subjected the paelstinians to all sort s of hardships and for what. NOTHING, this is an admission of stupidity except, of course, if you think that making innocent civilians suffer for islam is smart business. Its unfortunate that now that hams is thinking straight the jerk to the north, hezbolala boy is cranking up the attack machine. You can bet Iran is helping that brilliant idea which will only hurt the Lebanese people. then in a year we can sit around, just like we ard doing now, and hear the idiot nastalala say he is stopping all rocket fire. Lets hope that jerk is talking to hamas and gets the message ... peace or death.
15. disproportionate force
Galut ,   Selah   (11.21.09)
Quote:"Israel used so much disproportionate force it was not funny. 13 Israelis at the cost of 1400 Palestinians? Even you must see something was wrong there. ..." ====== interesting israel was patient and restrained for several months politely asking for the qassams to stop.... if a child is continiously poking a grouchy bear.... sooner or later that bear is going to respond with disproporianate force...the blame for the incident is the child....not the bear granted its not a perfect example. had this been in another country other than israel the casualties would significantly larger and hamas would have been rooted out.

Hamas may have agreed in June 2008 to stop firing rockets from Gaza into Israel but they did NOT in fact stop at all. The israeli Defence Forces went into Gaza after 8 years of Gaza bombing southerten israel. Israel had every right to do that.Show me one country in this world of ours that would not protect its people like Israel did?? Why are you Canadians so utterly naive ??

Which international law allowed the Palestinians to fire thousands of kassam missiles and bombs at Israeli civilian populations since 2001? Sderot alone was bombed by 7500 kassams. Is that not disproportionate? What did the residents of Sderot do to deserve that? Nothing. Remember, kassam rockets have no "use" in civilian areas and these attacks preceded Israel's actions. Hamas never stopped launching kassams at Israel. Even after Cast Lead, they're still firing missiles and they never took any responsibility for the damage they caused to Israel or their fellow Palestinians.

19. "Defend their people", Mr. Evans (#11)?
Jonathan ,   Philadelphia, USA   (11.22.09)
I have to take issue with David Evans (#11) comment: "...rockets are about all Hamas fighters have to defend their people with against...". Using rockets incites retaliation--it does not defend or protect anyone.

I don't care how patient Israel was (in planning a massacre) my point still stands about international law and the rules of war remaining in play. Just because a kid kicks you in the foot doesn't give you right to violently choke the kid into unconsciousness as well as beat up 20 bystanders around him and then set the neighborhood on fire and at the end of the day call it "self defense". What other country would use such disproportionate force and indiscriminate killings of civilians?

Addle ,   Toronto   (11.22.09)
No international law defends Qassam attacks on civilians. Just as how no international law defends Apache helicopters from blowing up hospitals. What did the residents of Sderot do to deserve the rocket attacks? Nothing. Just as how what did children in the streets of Gaza do to deserve being burned alive by White Phosphorus shells? Nothing.
22. Naive Canadians? I say Naive Israelis!
Daniel ,   Washington DC   (11.22.09)
The Canadians who accuse Israel of disproportionate force or war crimes are just foolish. They are swallowing the amazing propaganda from the pro-Hamas/ pro-Hizbollah machine. Israelis are the naive bunch. They think that by limiting their attacks or capitulating to world pressure to stop attacking, they will somehow have peace. Israel needs to remember no country on earth, not even the USA, is "on their side." If Israel wants true peace, it must realize that in some cases true force must be used. A war of attrition is not the best way to handle the situation, but with Hamas and Hizbollah it may be the only way. Stop letting the world public opinion tie your hands and fight to win peace not a truce

Enjoying this, Zion? Of course someone with the moniker, Zion, would enjoy antthing that has to do with ethnic cleansing. For Palestinian's perspective: "you take my water burn my olive trees destroy my house take my job steal my land imprison my father kill my mother bomb my country starve us all humiliate us all BUT I am to blame: I shot a rocket back" How would YOU respond to the ongoing aggression that is doing this? http://lawrenceofcyberia.blogs.com/photos/maps/landloss.html

Easy for you to condemn Israel while safe and sound in Toronto. If 55-60 kassams per day were landing in Toronto, you would scream bloody murder and not give a hoot about white phosphorus. Hamas obviously didn't care about their women and children when they launched kassams from civilians locations in Gaza and obviously they still don't care because the kassams have not stopped. Remember, Israel showed great restraint holding off a military response for eight years. Eventually Hamas got the response they were begging for.
25. What other country would use such disproportionate force
Galut ,   Selah   (11.22.09)
What other country would use such disproportionate force and indiscriminate killings of civilians? several in recent history... sudan -Dafur 100thousand + uganda under Amin -300000 china -millions japan ww2 millions russia under stalan&lenin -millions Germany ww2 -5 million plus there are a number despots today that would make israels actions look like a sunday school picnic...be sure they would never telephone or drop leaflets on those they are about to bomb - something that israel did do in cast lead...
