3. Surprising that gays protest for Israel...
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (11.22.09)
At least for those gays in San Francisco, I'm used to hearing that they associate themselves with ultra-leftist agenda, and therefore are traditional supporters of the Palestinian cause. What a refreshing change! Obrigado Brazil!
4. reza shah #1 just the facts
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.22.09)
Yes there were maybe 3-400 protesters out of millions, so what. Here they managed several thousand, guess there are many more that hate you more than they hate us.
5. YOU MEAN PERES ONLY MANAGED
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.22.09)
To convince the homosexuals in Brazil to demonstrate against the visit of President Mahmud Ahmedinejad? What a waste of visit for Peres!!
6. to 1
shiran ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.22.09)
at least we don't say that we don't have gays in our country. and, I'm sorry- AhmadiMonkey didn't prohibit you to look at Israeli websites? If I'm wrong, pardon me. I just don't know how the thing with blocking websites by the government goes.
7. # reza shah
Pedro ,   Brazil   (11.22.09)
Please, don`t say lies. The majority of Brazilians hate your president and your facist regime as well.
8. To 5 You seem share a lot in common with Nick Griffin...
The Dude   (11.22.09)
...you should join his party... hehehe
9. #1 the fact that you consider gays as 'nobody'
(11.22.09)
speaks volumes about you.
10. #1 Ahmadinejad Not Welcome
Cynthia ,   USA   (11.22.09)
The vast majority of Brazilians are peace loving and value their freedom of expression. Homosexuals are part of their society and fortunately, not executed hanging from cranes because of their orientation, like in Iran. They may buy pistachios, spare parts and carpets from Iran but that doesn't mean they like Ahmadinejad. The Iranians reject him. Why should the Brazilians welcome him? It pays to read the entire article.
11. Israel support has dwindled from
reza shah ,   tehran   (11.22.09)

12. ATLEAST ,YOU HAVE CONCEDED...#10
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.23.09)
To some extent the very purpose of President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad's visit to Brazil.Iran will,of course sell and purchase items from Brazil, may be include few gas and oil joint-ventures and the likes. Now then, where is your logic in believing that 'vast majority of Brazilian.....and so forth' come into it.you don't need to like someone to do business with,do you,Cynthia? Furthermore, you have not even waited for the joint communiqe to be issued.Wait for a while and you will know exactly the nett result of Peres's earlier visit and it futility.
13. #1 Aren't Iranian prisoners being sodomized by Islamic law?
Hanna   (11.23.09)
gays are free to live as they like in Israel. but in Iran only very religious Moslems who work in prisons are allowed and even ordered to sodomize and rape prisoners. I wonder why Iranian Islamists are so badly against gays but on the other side feel its ok if sodomizing prisoners is ordered by religious leaders?
14. ha, funny comment Reza coming from Tehran
corey ,   usa   (11.23.09)
haha yea, because according to A-jad, "there are no gays in Iran" right?
15. It looks like a few Jews ran into a few gays and...
Persian CAT   (11.23.09)
decide to take a picture together, that's all. Unlike anti-Israel demonstrations that included thousands of people from all walks of life. This demo sure looks pathetic! Israel you've lost your honor all over the world, except in the US congress. Stop Jewish contributions to those rascals and you'll NO ONE supports Israel anymore.
16.  Pres. Chavez... And in Venezuela too ?

18. #12 To Buy Friendship
Cynthia ,   USA   (11.23.09)
Brazil recently cancelled a gas and oil venture with Iran. They said it wasn't for political reasons but it did occur following Peres' visit.
19. 1ST TIME GENUINE BRAZILIAN PROTEST AGAINST A VISITOR
NELSON ,   BRAZIL   (11.23.09)
When Peres came the protest was against the Israeli atacks that killed Labanese children. The arab brazilian comunity don't even use to focus on Israel or even zionism, notice they are mostly Christian. Now the protest was against Iranian racist and facist stances, headed by a highly respectable black people cultural organization, the "Sons of Ghandi" (who came from the state of Bahia and feel opressed on their traditional afro-brasilian religion by the Evangelical depiction of them as demon possessed), Bahai representatives, besides to jewish and homosexual organized associations. Iy's been highly amazing and surprising to me, who am quite experient about Brazilian general indifference and ignorance about international affairs. Israel is quite admired heer around, leftist south american authoritarian leaders quite dispised and Ahmadinejad considered a complete crazy clown ! ! Islam is got no special simpathy among mostly catholic brazilians, not to mention a completely zionist evangelical church which is got a growing 30% share of cristianity. My Brazilian fellow country people are so ignorant about Islam or Judaism that I often have to defend Islam myself, in perfectly good will.
20. this is nice but
ghostq   (11.23.09)
we all know that natives should stick for one another, and so native american and Israelies feel they have joined past and destiny, the gay issue is just a gimmic.
21. to #11 some drage queens r straight
ghostq   (11.23.09)
and jews r the only nation on earth who voted to have monarchy, cause it was fasionable during soul era, but fasion comes and goes including the monarchy of Israel, sadly the last monarch went to heaven, you probably heard of him.
22. to #3
Samael ,   New York, NY, USA   (11.23.09)
S.F.'s ultra-liberal in general, gay and straight alike. Actually there's a lot of good reasons the gay community supports Israel. Especially when you consider that Team Jihad loves killing gays...
23. Nice News-See Ugly Face of Zionist Supporters
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (11.23.09)
They are all guys and homos Just image is disgusting So much is the power of Zionism in the world:Guys and Lesbians they are as deviant as Zionism
24. demonstrators from different religions?
observer   (11.23.09)
Brazilian Jews belong to Jewishness, not Judaism, as long as, they are diaspora.
25. to #24 they r jews and they r religious
ghostq   (11.23.09)

26. #23 Much better looking than...
Cynthia ,   USA   (11.23.09)
the grease balls that froth at the mouth while burning Israeli flags during protests in Turkey. By the way, I saw a funny photo last week. A group of your fellow lunatics were trying to burn the Israeli flag but they got confused and ignited a Turkish flag. Sounds like something you would do. Please read the post by Nelson (#19) and you'll feel even more foolish.
27. #11could your hatred be because you have something to hide ?
rachel ,   usa   (11.23.09)
28. ONLY 500 DEMONSTRATORS,CYNTHIA?
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.23.09)
Just read in the BBC news that there were around 500 demonstrators on Sunday.Imagine when one reads the truth...........................we were told thousands?
29. Lots of protests in many Brazilian cities, not only Rio
Flavio ,   São Paulo, Brazil   (11.23.09)
The article failed to mention that there were at least 7 or 8 protests against Ahmadinejad visit, in other Brazilian cities and besides Rio. I rallied against him last Sunday here, in São Paulo, together with about 1,500 people, including jews, gay activists, negro activists, Bahais, Christians and others. Brazilians have made perfectly clear that, by and large, we did not and do not want this disgusting dictator here in our country. President Lula's narrow minded, naive and misdirected foreign policy cannot be taken as the expression of this peace loving, democratic nation.
30. # 27 i do not hate anyone because I am pure
