It is not our place to judge. Those who have lost members of their families have a right to be angry that those who killed and maimed their loved ones will go free and probably plot and even carry out terror attacks the future.
However, we must also consider the safety of our child, Gilad. It is easy to to say that his life is no more important than that of any of the victims of terror but do we want to sacrifice another Jewish life in the cause of being "right"?
We pride ourselves on putting life first unlike those barbarians holding Gilad Shalit and so, as hard it it will be to swallow, maybe those, who for very real reasons, should think again before objecting to to the release of the prisoners in order to bring home a "live one".
We have done deals in the past, maybe they were wrong, but if we don't deal, then we must give every soldier a suicide pill and tell them that if they are caught they should swallow it as we do not deal with terrorists. Is this what we really want?
One thing is certain. Deal or no deal, terror against Israel will not stop!
