31. Lebanon don't be a CRY BABY...
shuebydoo ,   USA   (11.27.09)
Lebanon don't be a cry baby when you lose a good portion of your land in the future. You deserve it, for obviously you have not learned from the lessons of history...and those who don't learn are bound to repeat it!!! SUCH FOOLS!!!!
32. #29
really who cares ,   Here   (11.27.09)
"go have a very long siesta, this is all getting too much for you. " Really? Is this how you deal with the truth? Oh wait, Israel doesn't want anyone to know the truth or see it for who it truly is! But wait the world is changing and people are seeing the truth. The only cure for aggression is force. You no longer can intimidate others. Sleep on that Israel Forever.
33. Liberate what???
D   (11.27.09)
What is it that Lebanon wants to liberate? The UN stated that Israel had completely withdrew from all Lebanon territory...so what is it that they want to liberate. Why do the Lebanese need Hizballah to fight??? Don't they have an army?? Next round with Hizballah, Israel will bomb Lebanon - again! It's Lebanon's responsibility. And....honestly Hizballah can't actually think they can defeat the IDF. They have no clue what the Israel army is capable of doing.
34. They better improve their air and sea defenses quickly
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (11.27.09)
Hezbollah has fairly good ground defenses and limited sea defense but air power is the problem for Lebanon. Lebanon needs the S-300 Sam system but that is a red line for Israel since it would likely force a costly ground war with Hezbollah at some point. Iran now has 2 S-300 systems confirmed via commercial satellite imagery which are likely Russia PMU2 models or Iranian upgraded China made PMU1 that they are using to train with. Lebanon will get S-300 systems next year so Israel will likely attack before they are fully delivered and trained.
35. Yes, and we will hire the Mafia!
vered ,   israel   (11.27.09)
36. Marco, Spain (aka ..)
Takan ,   Elat   (11.27.09)
Marco we understand your pain. Your sort refused to accept the creation of the state of Israel back in 1948 and with the neighbors, they attacked it. Unfortunately for you, they lost that war and Israel kept on prospering. To add to your despair, they lost all the following wars they fought in refusal of the Jews, in a state where they once lived (check it out). Your kind lost the half of Jerusalem they had occupied for 45 years; they lost the Sinai and many parts of land around Israel’s borders, to create buffer zones against the waves of wars. This is what happens after any war for land, the loser is losing lands. So to answer your 1), these areas are buffer zones to be decided upon during peace deals, like Sinai that was given back to Egypt (poor guy got shot for it). You say in 2) that the Arabs who fled Israel should be able to go back to Israel. That would be nice if it was possible, but given the reason they left in the first place, and taken in consideration that many Jews in Israel are themselves refugees from hostile Arab countries or racist Europeans (let's be frank on this), the wise thing to do would be to accommodate everyone where they are right now but wise of course for you is just a magic eighteenth horse coming from nowhere and fact is the Arab neighbors don't seem to accept the Palestinian refugees in their midst any more than they accept the Jews. 3) Water is survival in the Middle East so don't expect Israel to put Lebanon survival as a priority while fighting itself for survival. 4) That's an easy one. When the "resistance’s missiles will not be pointed at Israel anymore, there will be no need for surveillance (even you can understand this one, right?). 5) All Palestinians that stayed in Israel became Israeli Arabs and many of them are happy here and are thankful for what the Jews brought. They would never live Tel Aviv to go to Teheran, Cairo or Beirut. Others, like you, are still hurt from the defeats and still dream of a Jew less Middle East. The Palestinians in Gaza are rules by Hamas and the ones in the West Bank area are ruled by the PA, with Israeli security control (wouldn't want to lose that one to Hamas too, would we now?) In short, Israeli Arabs do have full rights in Israel. You mention Jerusalem, but that's a fragmentation of your dreaming pride. Jerusalem will never ever be divided again. Before 1968, only Muslims were allowed there. Since Israeli control, all religions are accepted there, even Muslims (in spite of their evident poor worldwide reputation) .Muslims won't be allowed to shield Jerusalem ever again, but they're invited to visit (which is more than they had to offer). In 6) I will sarcastically agree with you when you finally call Hezbollah a criminal entity that should be disarmed and disappear but if money is what they want, they can try to make themselves as pitiful as the Palestinians, it worked for them. Hezbollah is not a nightmare for us; we try to focus on the positive sides of LIFE and trust the IDF, Hezbollah's nightmare.
37. #27 Hezbollah is Lebanon's worst nightmare
Cynthia ,   USA   (11.27.09)
A cancer cell that sucks the life blood out of Lebanon. Hezbollah will disarm and likely fade into the woodwork when Iran stops funding and arming them. Unless they sustain themselves from weapons and drug smuggling. I remain puzzled by why the Lebanese government tolerates Hezbollah. What do they really contribute to Lebanon? And if Hezbollah cares so much about the Palestinians, why do they let them rot in refugee camps in Lebanon? Shouldn't Hezbollah lead by example?
38. the exact wording was "allowed to DEFEND"
ahmed   (11.27.09)
just the usual israeli style. hezbollahs right to defend is acknowledged, the headlines are all about "lebanon okays hezbollah attacks" just like settlement freeze is followed by announcing the doubling of construction. its as if people cant see.
39. right to use weapons in defense
observer   (11.27.09)
The majority of Lebanese casualties were civilian, the majority of Israeli casualties were military. why American taxpayers are supporting indirectly, through the tax-exempt contributions, a process that the government condemns. Every dollar that goes to settlements makes Middle East peace that much harder to reach.
40. #23 without war, Israel would have lived much much better
observer   (11.27.09)
Arabs started only one war, in 1973, and were victorious then, and in 2006 as well. The Jews won only one war, in 1967, because they perfidiously attacked without declaring the war.
41. #39 Not defending Lebanon in '06
Ron   (11.27.09)
Hezbollah attacked Israeli soldiers and started war.
42. #40
debs   (11.27.09)
just to make a point if Israel lost a war Israel was no more!!! Israel won all the war , in the 72 war Israel was surprised but managed to turn the war around and was just a few miles from Egypt and the Syrian capitol!!! but you keep on convince yourself... dream on sucker
43. # 40 "observer"
Josef Matamoros ,   Finland   (11.27.09)
"Arabs started only one war..." As you are an "observer" you make "observations. As simple as that. So, you have chosen to suffer from dementia. However, don't expect anyone else to share your twisted view of the world. In a sense the Arabs started just one war: the one in 1948 and the same one continues ever since. After 1949 in a form of truce. Sometimes more intense war sessions like in 1967 as the Arabs attacked Israel (even you know Tiran issue was a declaration of war from the Arab side) or 1973. Most times the Arabs are satisfied to wage low intensity war in a form of terrorism using paid proxies like the PLO wit its various sections, islamic Jihad, Hezbollah and a lot of other terrorist organizations. All this may cause unease to Israel but, after all, they end up strengthening Israel. So, be free to continue "observing".
44. #43 Tiran?
observer   (11.27.09)
Egypt, which had a mutual defense pact with Syria, asked the United Nations to remove the Emergency Force from the border with Israel. U Thant, the Secretary General, had to comply with the request because the force was stationed on Egyptian sovereign territory. But he also decided, on his own hook, to remove the Emergency Force from Sharm-el-Sheikh, which the Egyptians did not request. Once the fig leaf of the United Nations Emergency Force was removed from Sharm-el-Sheikh, Nasser had to close the Strait of Tiran to Israeli shipping for domestic political reasons. (Imagine what would happen today if an Iranian vessel sailed down the Saint Lawrence seaway into the Great Lakes and the United States government did nothing to stop and search it.) So the Israelis attacked Egypt to "reassert their rights to free passage through the straight of Tiran." They destroyed the Egyptian air force, on the ground, in 80 minutes. They also attacked a United States vessel stationed off the coast of Egypt, the USS Liberty, a signals intelligence ship working for the National Security Agency. Thirty-four sailors were killed and 171 wounded out of a total crew of 295 and the ship was almost sunk. The attack was never investigated from the American side and much of the information pertaining to that attack is still secret.
45. #44 USS Liberty
Cynthia ,   USA   (11.27.09)
Incident investigated by Israel and the US and found to be an unfortunate mistake. Israel compensated those injured, families of the dead sailors and damage to the ship. As usual, your information is inaccurate.
46. # 44 Very own...
Josef Matamoros ,   Finland   (11.27.09)
...history writing from "observer". You seemingly think, you can freely interpret everything to your wishes. No, you just cannot pick out the raisins from the chocolate. You eat it or leave it. Egypt asked for removal and got what it ordered. Lawrence river has NOTHING to do with Tiran. The latter means international waters where Israel had, has and will have freedom to sail. Even, when you don't accept this. This is what I mean with your twisted mind. You pick facts and leave other facts, and, in addition, you imagine some other thoughts of yours were facts though they aren't, and, yet in addition, you think some real facts were imaginations, though they are real facts.
47. very common
Ilana   (11.27.09)
the arabs twist and distort facts to suit their needs. They steal religion and religious sites to make it their own. We still laugh at Eqyptian broadcasts of how they were "pushing the Jews into the sea" while in actuality their soldiers were removing their shoes and running for their lives. If the world could be educated as to their culture, things would be a lot better. How sad.
48. # 32
Israel Forever ,   Israel   (11.27.09)
The only cure for your outburst is hysterical laughter,.Israel has the right to defend herself as the only democratic counrty in the Middle East. You continue with your anti-semetic rants & enjoy your self-deception.

Bravo Ilans, you hit the nail on the head.
