31. Livnat was correct in her behavior.
elianna   (11.30.09)
US administration gives to those who do not support it. I Obama needs to know that there is a limit to what Israel will put up with and still give support to him. If we are only the "yes" people Obama will walk all over us. WMD are the US's problem too. He needs Israel not just Israel needs the US.
32. Orly
Jennie ,   nyc   (11.30.09)
This article is only adding to the already bad PR about Israel by Israelis...What is wrong with those self hating media people in Israel? This journalist is nothing but gossip columnist with no brains.... And yes, the Obama government shows disrespect and snobism to Israeli president, prime minister and cabinet members when they are summoned to the White House...It is a fact...Israel gets nothing for free and gives more then Orly will ever know to US and to the world...While Obama bowes down to Islamic leaders and shows much effection to Israel's neighbors &EU leaders, his behaviour is drastically different with Israeli leaders...
33. On the first call from o-BUM-a to Bibi, the White House
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.30.09)
released a photo of the "president" with his feet on the oval office desk with soles showing. o-BUM-a is the son of an arab and an arab himself and showing your shoes to someone is the ULTIMATE arab insult, the equivalent of saying that your donkey has sex with the person's mother. o-BUM-a gave the ultimate insult on the first phone call, anything he gets back is deserved a thousand times over. And yes, I have the picture stored on my computer. Taken by the White House staff and released by the White House staff so Bibi would know for sure what o-BUM-a thought of the Jews.
34. Class action suit against the US - May be on the way
Marcella   (11.30.09)
The Office for Israeli Constitutional Law (Justice Now For Israel), an Israeli legal action organization, has sent letters to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Undersecretary of State William Burns, and Middle East Envoy William Burns warning that their labeling of settlements in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) and Jerusalem as illegal, violates Jewish rights to the territories guaranteed by a treaty signed by the U.S. and British Governments. Copies of the letter were sent to the State Department’s Treaty Compliance division and the Inspector General. If the Government does not comply with the civil rights recognized in the treaty, the OFICL will file a CLASS ACTION SUIT in the U.S. District Court. Google Justice Now For Israel for details. Dear Israel, don't play "Nice Guy" anymore!
35. Okay #1, let's not take U.S. help anymore.
vered ,   israel   (11.30.09)
Let's see how far we get with God's help.

You'd think she would come to her senses and stop behaving like a lowlife.
37. Minister Liv ni
whatcha know ,   israel   (11.30.09)
Unfortunately, Minister Livni hasn't changed during the years. She has always has had the tendency to open her mouth before thinking what she is going to say

42. You are right Orly
Shmuel ,   Maale Adumim   (11.30.09)
they are our friends, and with friends like that, I'd rather take the Arabs. At least we know up front where they stand!
43. Limor Livnat
Rafi ,   USA   (11.30.09)
Orly Azulai has probably forgotten that the reason Israel has to buy parts for the F-16 is that the US, under pressure from its own aviation industry, has pressured Israel to stop the Lavi fighter plane program. Israel and the US cooperate a lot, that's not a reason to agree that established neighborhoods in J'lem such as Gilo are called 'settlements'. However, Obama is not the president with the worst attitude towards Israel. That 'honor' imho belongs to Bush the father.
44. No. 30
NYC Girl   (11.30.09)
Sounds more like BS News if you ask me. In fact, I've rarely seen so much misinformation packed into one talkback. First of all, forget that business about god protecting Israel. The majority of Israelis aren't interested in it. Secondly, you obviously have no idea whatsoever what the U.S. has gained from our relationship with Israel in terms of billions of dollars saved in research and development expenditures as a result of Israel's turning over highly sophisticated Russian weapons that they captured from the Arabs in successive wars. And where do you think our troops would have been during the Gulf War if Israel hadn't taken out Saddam's nuclear reactor. And if you're under the misapprehension that we wouldn't have gone to war if not for Israel, don't even go there because that's patently false. Not only that, but people like you are totally devoid of any credibility when you fail to recognize the fact that we give Egypt nearly the same amount of aid we give to Israel and all we get in return is their state-controlled media spewing some of the most vitriolic anti-American propaganda in the Middle East. So spare us your racist hysteria and double standards.
45. Many MK's are soooo stoooooooooooopid
Secular   (11.30.09)
Livnat not an exception of course.
46. US support
Patriot ,     (11.30.09)
Anybody who deny the importance of US support in UN, military support, etc. is a fool, uneducated bigot or religious fanatic. If you don't know what does F16 mean, better shut up.
47. #42 Are you going to call?
Arab   (11.30.09)
48. #1. G-d is number one ingridient
Zahal #1 ,     (11.30.09)
Pity it was inactive in WW2
49. To Ibrahim #2, learn to spell 'charideem' Jewishly
Jake   (11.30.09)
or risk blowing your cover.
50. Sorry Orly, Limor is right, you're wrong.
Jake   (11.30.09)
and if Israel does what Obama says and continues to hemorrhage territory, technology will not save you, and you can put your F-16's in a museum for all the good they will do you. My advice to you, Orly, is to stop writing editorials, and start writing the truth, for a change.
51. #20, Better an 'arrogant Israeli' than bow to the Saudi king
Jake   (11.30.09)
52. Sack her now
Joshua ,   Jersey City   (12.01.09)
Had a member of Obama's cabinet stated that the Netenyahu government was an "awful" government, many of us in the U.S. Jewish and pro-Israel community would condemn the remarks and call for that person to be removed. It is no different on the other side. Livnat has always been one of the most embarasing and incompetent ministers in both Sharon's and Netenyahu's cabinets. This just confirms her ineptitude. Netenyahu should sack her now.
53. Relax, Obama will leave faster than he came.
leo ,   usa   (12.01.09)
54. BBSNews @ 30, do not speak for millions of Americans.
leo ,   usa   (12.01.09)
Speak only for yourself and you will be heard much better.
55. Relax everybody,
Elad Lending ,   Israel   (12.01.09)
it's alright. The fact that it was a "minor minister", and not Bibi himself who said these things allows Netanyahu to get his point across while still being able to maintain plausible deniability.
56. to 55
noor   (12.01.09)
i can not be relaxed of your post .. another discription please .iam waiting ..or do you think that iam not body and soul but not evry
57. Leo, Israel's Arab-hatred is endangering the US...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.01.09)
...and our National Security Interests. The longer Israel is allowed to subjugate Arab-Palestinians, and foment constant drumbeats of war just so it can grab a few more dunams of land, a little more water, the more in danger are American interests. Look at the poolls concerning American support for Israel; dropping by double digits like a rock. Millions of American are fed up with Israel's constant insults to the US President who is trying to forge a fair and just peace agreement, apparently you have no real idea of what they are saying over there.
58. # 57
(12.01.09)
Here we go again with that Palestinian victimhood narrative. And those polls you refer to regarding support dropping in double digits are actually about Obama, not Israel. Not only that, but it's doubtful that many Americans are even aware of how the Israelis feel about him. They're much more interested in whether Tiger Woods was beaten up by his wife because she found out he was having an affair. And as far as the supposition that America is in danger because of Israel's supposed mistreatment of the Palestinians, most people who really know something about the Middle East will tell you that rather than the Muslims hating America because of its ties to Israel, the Muslims hate Israel because of its ties to America. And if you don't believe it, just consider the fact that the Iranians refer to America as the Great Satan, and Israel only as the Little Satan.
59. anonymous, I don't use ADL polls...
BBSNews ,   Charlotte, NC   (12.01.09)
...I prefer Rasmussen and the Israel Project. For instance, in the poll I was referring to: "Some 49 percent of American voters call themselves supporters of Israel, down from 69 percent last September, according to the poll conducted for The Israel Project ... Some 23 percent of voters believed that Israel should return all lands captured in 1967, with 57 percent saying some should be retained for security." Obviously, I'm one of the 23%. And extrapolating from turnout number in 2008 of 132,588,514 that indicates about 33 million want to see a Palestinian state within the '67 borders. The Rasmussen polling is far more interesting, you should read it: http://www.rasmussenreports.com /public_content/politics /current_events /isreal_the_middle_east /americans_closely_divided_over_is rael_s_gaza_attacks
60. wisdom
tom ,   toronto, canada   (12.01.09)
wisdom would dictate that there are some things which are true, but are better left unsaid. in this case, the obama administration is not heeding the advice of the professional bureaucrats, presumably to follow obama's mantra of "change", and is "winging it" on almost every foreign policy issue, and the arab-israeli conflict is no exception. clearly this will blow up in their faces, and it has already started to, because obama's overly simplistic "fresh ideas" on the middle east do not take into account the realities of the situation. for example, iran is not really interested in "dialogue" with the us, unless that dialogue includes the word "surrender". likewise, the palestinians are stuck for words when obama hands them everything they could ever hope for, and more, on a silver platter - they don't know what else to demand. had he listened to the pros, obama would have discovered that the "palestinian issue" is not about independence for the palestinians so much as about the elimination of israel. (had the palestinians really wanted independence, they could have declared a state in 1948 or accepted israel's offer at camp david.) the best that he can hope to do is meddle a little, and maybe not get too many innocent people killed in the process. if we're lucky. livnat does not deserve a medal for stating the obvious, but she does deserve a harsh reprimand for speaking out when she would have been much wiser to just shut up.
