While some Moslems do not view the Druze as Moslems, the Druze certainly consider themselves Moslems. Then again, there are Shi'ites that do not consider Sunni Moslems to be Moslems, and Sunni Moslems that do not consider Shi'ites to be Moslems. Frankly, I could care less. Let them iron out their differences themselves. I do care that 95% of terrorist activity that has plagued the world for over sixty years has been committed by "people" (I use the term advisedly) who define themselves as Moslems, or who have aligned themselves closely to various Islamic and Arab causes and have taken terrorist training from assorted Moslem and Arab groups. I don't care how people choose to classify themselves. It is irrelevant. I am certain that Al Qaeda consider themselves valiant and heroic freedom fighters. I lost three very good friends on September 11, 2001. I have a whole different descriptive vocabulary for Al Qaeda, and I assure you that the words valiant, heroic and freedom fighter do not appear in that lexicon. There are one billion or so adherents to Islam on this planet. Many are unabashedly violent and vicious. Many consider anyone that isn't exactly like them to be "infidels" who need to be slaughtered in a cleansing jihad. Many are sheep who may feel differently but go along with the violent majority because to speak up might jeopardize them. Well, their silence has been deafening. I am the child of Jewish concentration camp survivors. I am ALL about speaking up to protest a wrong, and to hell with the consequences. I have to wake up in the morning and look into the mirror and like the person who looks back at me. Fear-induced silence is not part of my lexicon, either. I am not afraid of much. Silence implies consent. If there are "moderate" Moslems in the world, they haven't spoken up. I have yet to hear a single imam issue a fatwa condemning Osama bin Laden, Nasrallah and other proponents of extreme violence. If such moderate Moslems exist, they are irrelevant unless they speak out. A person who turns his head and pretends not to see an evil or chooses to ignore it is no different from a person who perpetrates the evil. As far as I am concerned, unless and until there is a Moslem cleric anywhere in the world willing to stand up against his evil co-religionists; unless and until there is a popular backlash among so-called "moderate" Moslems protesting the actions of Islamofascist terrorists, there is no difference among any of them.
